I have the 'Great Big God' Soundtrack blaring through my headphones at present. Good music. I am plotting for Holiday Club this summer to see how big a band I can form for the finale service... Does anyone think a 12 piece band for a family service is excessive? Two keyboards (Piano and rock organ), three guitars (electric, acoustic and bass), two trumpets, drum kit and four singers?

How big is the congregation likely to be? We frequently have a big band like that - sometimes bigger, but we have a big congregation (150-200) so they don't get overwhelmed by the size of the band.

Could be 200-250. 50 kids (if we can find a big enough facility could be up to 100. We had a waiting list of 60 last year...) plus parents plus guests from all the church. Could be 250 people.

I am currently trying to guage opinion on this subject accross the various denominational forums with a view to making representation to Erwin on this.

Tom has a thread here in STR and there is a poll running in OBOB.

Anyone with an opinion on whether there should be a cross in the logo, please post in one (or better still) both of these threads.

Alternatively (or as well), PM me with your views and I'll collate them together.

Hi Louise

I preferred last weeks. It was a bit random but was quite interesting to watch- this one's just boring.

lol :D

thats what i thought of last weeks. Boring :P

Apart from when they saw the face of Bo.

I was discussing with a freind. I did think last nights ep was pretty cool. I do like the concept of the evolving Daleks but also love the traditional Daleks. Now what would happen if there were pure dalek survivors elswhere (and in a vast universe there must be) who encountered the hybrids? I think the potential is enormous. The potential that is

Like the borg on star trek. they were weak in the end. but still had that potential to be real nasty.

anyway chaps bbl - im gonna watch some dr who :P

Problem is, Haylea, good driving has a lot to do with confidence. Not easy to feel confident in the beginning. It only comes with time.

Only wondering because our former suffragen bishop has recently been made bishop of Birmingham. Not sure where you live, but he was a great guy, Bishop David Urquhart.
The last bish of brum was terrific (Now, of course, ABY). David Urquhart is going to have big shoes to fill.

Well, I like him. He's quite evangelistic, and preaches well. However, the 'focus of unity' role is something I'm not so sure of with David. He may blossom into that role, I suppose.

So long as it's the real stuff--which some bits of which are almost inedibly spicy to most of my family--I adore it. However the stuff that is sometimes bought (which is pretty weak) I don't specially enjoy.

Got a couple of days with Laura so hijacked her laptop topop in here:D

Good to be able to get some time together though. Didn't tell her I was coming just finished my last night shift and headed north. Figuered if I told her that I was gonna drive 300 miles after a 12 hr night shift she wouldn't have let me so.....:D :D :D :D

Environmental science - but im begining to realise maybe im not cut out for science.

Or at least degree level science. It's annoying, i have this curiousity in me on finding out how things work - i keep wanting to know. Every time i try to forget about it thinking i can't do it, the drive compels me back to studying it, thinking about it all. I even study karate and like to think about how it all works.

Im not cut out for a degree because i have little organisational skills or concentration.

You know what i want now? A full time job with suitable regular (dayshift) hours so that i can do my karate. Job and karate (and someone to spend my life with), its all i want. :sigh:

I can understand wanting to find out how things work - that's why I did my first degree in Biology. It's tough finding the 'suitable regular full time job' without a degree nowadays, that's the rub. It will be worth it in the end, I'm sure! Persevere! :)
