I hope all are having a lovely Easter. We attended services this morning, went out to breakfast at our usual spot, and home. I have our dinner in the oven (stuffed roasted chicken) and we plan to just relax in the knowledge that our Saviour is risen.

Goes back to the old days when meat was expensive and had to be shared by a large family.
The Yorkshire pudding weas served first (a great big, roasting tin sized one sliced up - not these silly little things we have now), with onion gravy, which took the edge off hungry appitites. In fact the saying was "Them as eats most pudding gets most meat"

It staggers me that at a Christian site we have a logo that doesn't even include a cross.
That seems to be a common opinion in the comments I have seen, both here and in OBOB, and one I agree fully with.
One hopes that the cross is not being viewed as un PC or we are all stuffed

I think we all like the idea of the linked fish, at least I know I do. It does symbolise the unity among Christians that is cf's aim. But we should also have the cross as well.
It is the central part of our faith as Christians and as Tom said, it is unthinkable for a Chriatian site NOT to have the cross in it's logo

I think we all like the idea of the linked fish, at least I know I do. It does symbolise the unity among Christians that is cf's aim. But we should also have the cross as well.
It is the central part of our faith as Christians and as Tom said, it is unthinkable for a Chriatian site NOT to have the cross in it's logo
i used to think the fish should have been the symbol.
I didnt like the cross. It symbolised death to me... and i beleived christ survived that (and the symbolism behind it that we also did).
I had this plan to have the fish symbol to wear round my neck.

I tried my best to make it a balanced thread - i had to edit it quite a few times while writing as i was coming across really one sided.

Ah, but remember Louise, in Christian Theology, He came to die. The Resurrection was the Evidence that the Sacrifice was effective.

ahhh but you know i was a heathenistic christian ;) :D
i acknowledged the death but i felt the works were more important :P
i figured he came to spread a message, then die, then come back to life... then encourage the works. in a nutshell.
not that it matters to me now (but this isnt the place and you have made my brain explode once today :P )
if i was a christian now id feel the same as i did then :)

Indeed and it wouldn't take too much of an alteration to the desiign to make it like that either/

I still don't understand this one, babe  Surely if you'd eaten the most pudding, you'd have less room for meat? :sorry:

I wish I could improve my voice. Some of my fellow ordinands have the most beautiful voices.

Hello Louise! :)
I received a funny email today:
Toilet Cleaning Instructions:
1.Put both lids of the toilet up and add 1/8 cup of pet shampoo to the water in the bowl.
2. Pick up the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.
3. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close both lids. You may need to stand on the lid.
4. The cat will self agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the noises that come from the toilet, the cat is actually enjoying this.
5. Flush the toilet three or four times. This provides a "power-wash and rinse".
6. Have someone open the front door of your home. Be sure that there are no people between the bathroom and the front door.
7. Stand behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift both lids.
8. The cat will rocket out of the toilet, streak through the bathroom, and run outside where he will dry himself off.
9. Both the commode and the cat will be sparkling clean.
Sincerely,
The Dog

It's well worth it if you ask me. I now sing a fairly reasonable tenor, from a fairly bad growling baritone before (having sung descant in choirs, after my voice broke I hardly sang til lately). If we do do a panto this year, I want to sing the part of the evil fairy king. :)
