What does it mean to make the sign of the cross with both hands? and instead of touching each shoulder for the Holy Spirit....the arms go out palms up as if the Holy Spirit is flowing forth.
I've been having dreams of this........and in my dreams I'm doing this for spiritual warfare.
I dream of this often:help:
Are both hands ever used in making the sign of the cross?

I don't know if this is used in the Anglican liturgy often, but usually (or at least when I'm there) RCC masses end with the priest blessing the congregation as you described it.

Except they only use one hand.
And the blessing is customary at the end of Anglican Masses as well. But since it's Maundy Thursday, there won't be a blessing and dismissal until the Easter Vigil.

It means you are a dirty double crosser.

I've never seen the crossing action you are describing here. I have seen crossing the arms over the breast with the hands resting on the shoulders. That sign is known as the "sign of the shepherd".
Do you have a picture?

Good question. I can't really picture it in my mind either.

1. Place hands together like this:

2. Lift hands, still in same position, as high as you can saying "In the Name of the Father."
3. Lower the hands, sill in same postition to between the hips and knees (wherever comfortable without having to bend at the waste) saying "and of Son."
4. Lift hands together to bosom and then separate the hands with the right one extending right and the left one extending left saying "and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.".

This is done in Catholic churches? I've never seen it. It sounds very... odd.

Well in waking life I have placed my hands together like cuping them to hold water. Then I raise my cuped hands to my forhead and let my fingers touch my forhead. (when I do this in waking life I start saying the Lords prayer.....)both hands to indicate heaven and earth.
When I get to the part of the prayer..."and give us this day our daily bread' I place my fingers on my heart knowing this is about Jesus dwelling in us.
And then my arms go out like I'm spreading my arms for a hug but in this action it is about the Holy Spirit going forth.
Both arms in waking life and my dreams are an indication of "Thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven" My left to me means heaven and my right means earth.
I do not know why I have started to have these dreams. They started when I started to post in the deliverance ministry forum and deliverance theology folder.
But this I know is about God dwelling in us also..........
I still have much to learn..........

It is possible sister that God is preparing you for something. I have no insight as to what, but I will be praying for you.

I know you're probably not looking for a mundane answer (but then you did ask a bunch of Anglicans, so maybe you are ) but is it possible that you're dreaming about this sort of thing because you're now thinking about more than you have in the past?

Wow, I've never seen that before. It looks sort-of weird.
