"There is no better term than propaganda blitzkrieg to describe what has been unleashed against Christian conservatives recently.

Consider the long list of anti-Christian books that have been published in recent months. Here are just a few samples of more than 30 similar titles, all from mainstream publishers:
"American Fascists: The Christian Right and the War on America"
"The Baptizing of America: The Religious Right's Plans for the Rest of Us"
"The End of Faith: Religion, Terror, and the Future of Reason"
"Piety & Politics: The Right-wing Assault on Religious Freedom"
"Atheist Universe: The Thinking Person's Answer to Christian Fundamentalism"
"Thy Kingdom Come: How the Religious Right Distorts the Faith and Threatens America" "Religion Gone Bad: The Hidden Dangers of the Christian Right"
What is truly alarming is that there are more of these books for sale at your local large book store warning against the perils of fervent Christianity than those warning against the perils of fervent Islam. Does anyone seriously think America is more seriously jeopardized by Christian conservatives than by Islamic zealots?"

..."Without a vibrant and vital Christianity, America is doomed, and without America, the West is doomed.
Which is why I, an Orthodox Jewish rabbi, devoted to Jewish survival, the Torah and Israel am so terrified of American Christianity caving in. Many of us Jews are ready to stand with you. But you must lead. You must replace your timidity with nerve and your diffidence with daring and determination. You are under attack. Now is the time to resist it. "

There's a thread in here about Jahn Hagee and his stand is an obvious good one.

His church is in San Antonio, probably take me about an hour to drive there from Austin. I'm thinking of planning a trip down there to visit his church.

Joel Osteen is also doing good, he's announced last year that he eats kosher.

i almost forgot this was written by a rabbi. that gives a completely different spin on it to me.

i'm not part of the religious right, fundamentalism, or extreme conservative viewpoint. However, I do see that even in a secular society like ours, there's a distinct attitude of "Every religion's OK except Christianity."

I've read Daniel Lapin's America's Real War. Generally, I like a lot of what he has to say. Unfortunately, his credibility has taken a major hit for me since he's caught up in the Abramoff scandal. He's also head of the Christian/Jewish conservative Toward Tradition, which is a great organization.

Many thanks to ContraMundum for this link. I have long considered Jewish people very wise indeed about the meaning of threats of total destruction against a race or culture. They understand it all too deeply.

Their courage and valor have been demonstrated all through history, and even more today. The fact is, that they do not have the LUXURY of being constrained by political ideology that demands surrender and appeasement of those determined to destroy America and the West.

Those that abuse this privilege and this hard-won privilege and freedom to dissent, are cutting their own right to be free, by their incredible enmity of everything or anything that gives protection against implacable enemies intent upon desecration and eradicating all standing in their way to winning world domination.

For the sake of our children's freedom and rights to life and worship by choice, listen and take those words to heart. Use all the intelligence that can be found to comprehend the realities of the perils which threaten the world.

In the longer article, it says:

First, would you be so sanguine if the target of this loathsome library were Jewish? Just try changing the titles in some of the books I mention above to reflect anti-Semitism instead of rampant anti-Christianism and you'll see what I mean.
And if you subsituted "Muslim" or "Gay" in those titles, there'd be a huge outcry, wouldn't there?

I really like Rabbi Lapin! And he loves the Christians (generally conservative) who love Israel and the Jews! He is absolutely correct.

I was in a Barnes & Noble today for the first time in a long time. The junk that was in the Religion section was appalling. It was either Gnostic or skeptical "christianity" in the majority, post-modern "christianity", or just plain new age junque!
