Hi again,

I really appreciate you guys!

In my ignorance, if I sound obsurd or off... just tell me to shut up and sit down. :sorry:

Being a Christian for 20 years, I have been living in "Egypt" the entire time... not experiencing His fullness. My first glimpse of Passover a year ago caused my head to turn. I am so totally blown away at how this all points to Jesus, what He meant by fulfilling the law and how the law became spiritual. Anyway, I am so excited and can't wait for this year because I too (like the children of Israel) am going to the Promised Land! Please don't mis-interpret, yes I am saved but was living a busted and discusted life and now that I am knowing more of His appointed times... I can see a whole new door "spiritually" open for me.

Anyway, today I was pondering on Col 2:17 "shadow of things to come." Paul wrote this after the resurection. I am discerning that this "shadow of things to come" is on a personal level. A shift into new glories, a personal application. New appointments and higher calling.

Thanks for discussing

COL2:16 So don’t let anyone pass judgment on you in connection with eating and drinking, or in regard to a Jewish festival or Rosh-Chodesh or Shabbat. 17 These are a shadow of things that are coming, the body is of the Messiah.
Some versions say These are "merely" a shadow of things coming, making it trivial. Still others say "But" the body is of Messiah, making a comparative with exclusion. What I have posted is accurate. The things mentioned are a shadow of that which is coming, namely the body of Messiah in the fullness of the unity in Him.
Now Paul is saying don't let anyone criticize you in these things. There are two possibilities; either he is saying not to let people criticize you for NOT doing them, which then means that Paul is not in agreement with his own Judaism and is indeed an apostate, OR he is saying not to let people criticize them FOR DOING them, which makes Paul a true apostle fully supporting Judaism in which he lives and in harmony with the teachings of Messiah and also in agreement with himself where in other places he says that there is no longer any difference between Jew and Gentile, that they are all one and part of the Israel of God.
Now lets go on, who would be criticizing the Gentiles for NOT keeping the festivals and Sabbaths?
The Jews? No they did not want the Gentiles to do these things. They were very protective of Torah and feared assimilation.
The Messianic Jews of the circumcision party? No, they wanted the Gentiles to do them as long as they had converted first to Judaism.
The Gentiles? No they didn't care if other Gentiles were not observing Jewish things.
But if we take the position that Paul was true to his own convictions and the teaching that Gentiles were fully a part of Israel through faith in Messiah, then the Gentiles Would be criticized by the Jews for doing them, because they did not recognize Gentiles as part of Israel, and did not want Judaism polluted by Gentiles.
The circumcision party would also be critical because the Gentiles were doing them without converting and being circumcised first.
The Gentiles would not really care either way.
So it makes a clear connection that the Gentiles WERE DOING the festivals and Sabbaths and were being criticized for DOING them and not for failing to do them.
Paul goes on to warn the Gentiles not to go into false teachings like Angle worship and self denial possible associated with some separate group. This understanding maintains Paul’s position toward Gentiles and is in agreement with the teachings of Messiah as well.

There is so much more spiritual truths in "the shadow of things to come but the body is of Christ" than the present circumstances Paul was dealing with.

I believe that Paul's spiritual eye was on the horizon of prophectic truth when he said it is the shadow of things to come" Just as we now find out about how detailed the Lord was in fulfilling the spring time feasts with His first coming, we also can look forward to the fall feasts being fulfilled at His second coming. It will be interesting to see if they are fulfilled in like manner.

Will we have 3 1/2 years of ministry (two witnesses of revelation) before the fulfillment of the feasts just like the spring time feasts were fulfilled? Will the fall feasts happen in the same rapid order and timing as the spring time feasts were fulfilled? Yeshua died at the very time of the passover lamb sacrifice. He rose at First Fruits/and Many (Wave Sheaf) were resurrected and witnessed. On Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came to the Upper Room.

Now we have the fall feasts... The trumpets ( 7 trumpets are mentioned in Revelation) Yom Kippur ( Day of Atonement) and The feast of Tabernacles ... each have so many interesting aspects which can easily be tied into the end time events. Worthy of study to try and figure out the "shadow of times to come" and especially since we know it is the "body of Christ".

Have you by chance seen the Passover videos by Zola Levitt?
go to http://www.levitt.tv/ and click on Watch on Internet TV (http://www.levitt.tv/)
then nearly at the bottom under "Special Topics" click on V543 — “The Miracle of Passover,” part 1 (http://www.levitt.tv/media/links/ZLV-543.ram)
and then of courseV544 — “The Miracle of Passover,” Part 2 (http://www.levitt.tv/media/links/ZLV-544.ram)
They're fantastic walkthroughs of the pesach seder and I still enjoy watching them now, even though I've observed pesach before. they give a lot of insight into the meaning behind the passover and how it points to Messiah Yeshua.

I love those videos! They are wonderful! I am happy that Zola gets to spend this Passover in Heaven but selfishly I sure do miss him.
