Dear friends,

My father, Gregory, will undergo a hernia operation tomorrow (Monday). While the operation is fairly routine and doesn't require an overnight stay, it is still considered major surgery under general anesthetic, so there is always some risk. The recovery period is supposed to last a month assuming no complications. I ask for your prayers on his behalf, that the operation is successful and without complications.

In Christ,
Patrick

My hubby had that a few years ago... I was so scared!!! They ended up finding 7 hernias in there once they started. But it all turned out okay.

Thank you all so much for your prayers! I just got off the phone with my folks and they report the operation went very well. Now he just has a 30-day recuperative period but that shouldn't pose any problems (Lord willing).

Thank you again - Philothei, AnomalousSilence, KA9INV, Dust and Ashes, Orthosdoxa, Mary, Akathist, and Kamikat - your prayers and well-wishes mean a lot. May the Lord bless and keep you all, and find sanctuary in your hearts forever!

In Christ,
Patrick

Tell your dad please don't be a hero.

Shortly after my dad had a double hernia operation, he tried to close a window so that my mom wouldn't get cold, but the window stuck, so he forced it closed, and then he ended up in the hospital again and needed another operation.

Praying for the full recovery of your dad.

Thank you, Aria, for your prayers and advice. My dad is a pretty prudent person on those sorts of things - usually follows docs orders.
