Blood Diamond
Yeah alright they are movies. I've never been to Africa and probably never will. These are two movies that are somewhat similar in that the plot background has to do with the violence in the continent.
I watched Blood Diamond last night. Afterwards I watched a podcast of the NBC evening news and saw a report from Darfur. It was almost creepy-the scene the reporter was from could have been the refugee set in the Blood Diamond movie.
My mind then wanders to the US. I tend to take a suspicious & dark look at US gov't and history, yet Americans are not killing each other to the degree people in some African nations are. Is it possible for the US to roll into such sectarian violence as witnessed in Africa? The US had its spell in the Civil War and seems to be beyond that point now. And what has preserved this nation to make so much safer than those African nations?
Just some thoughts off my head--I suppose one can say that sin is sin and that the US is guilty of sin just like some of those gov'ts in Africa, yet there are not rolling bands of rebels going in to massacre a town down the road and the gov't isn't on the verge of coup d'etat.

I think you'd have to consider that in America, we are a government of, for and by the people. In African countries with a great deal of unrest, they are mostly being led or influenced by despots that allow their friends to rape the land and the people in pursuit of self-enrichment and power.
In the US we would stand up and impeach such people, but in those countries, they have no procedure for impeachment and no possibility of deposing the despots.
By God's ordinance, we have been blessed with a stabile government because it was founded by intelligent and level headed people who thought not only of themselves, but of the generations to come. That's why the preamble of the Constitution says, "We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice and insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare and insure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity do ordain and establish this constitution."
The framers of our governent forsaw that despots could come along and degrade everything they lived and died for, and to prevent that, they ordained an orderly government that could be self-perpetuating. If they hadn't, when George Washington died, there could have been rioting and disorder and our next president could have made Idi Amin look like a girl scout.

Seems though that the US must have had more going for it than a piece of paper...maybe there is something to the whole Christian heritage thing..

Hmm, maybe. but more important is probably that Americans are better watchdogs over our government.
I think instead of over simplifying it by saying that we have a stable government because we are Christians, it's better to look at all the influences over our stability.
1) We have a stable economy. It fluctuates within pretty narrow boundaries, partly influenced by our government and partly influenced by our resources and our relative isolation from the economies of the world.
2) We are largely an educated people. We know when someone's trying to pull the wool over our eyes, governmentally speaking.
3) We are a cautious people. When we don't have a good feeling about something, we recognize there's probably something we should look into more before we make a decision.
4) Our government enforces our laws pretty well.
5) We have land ownership rights, and because we as individuals invest in specific plots of land, we have a more vested interest in social and governmental stability.
6) As a people, we take care of our poor and work toward economic opportunity and equality. We don't let masses of people become disenfranchised and destitute, and that helps to keep things stable.
7) By and large, we like each other. Since we don't have any real beefs with other social, economic or ethnic groups, we don't feel the need for violent "cleansings" that plague countries where the people don't like each other.
8) We get along with our neighbors. We don't feel the need to attack Canada or Mexico in order to command their resources or people.
9) We are a live and let live kind of folk. We don't come to military action or violence very often in order to force people to think the way we think.
10) ...
You get my point. There isn't any ONE reason that the US is a stable country, there are a lot of bricks in the platform that keeps us up and even, not swaying dangerously with instability and unrest.

Menno, a friend & I often ponder why the West as a whole has been so blessed & I think you are partly right. Certainly there are a lot of overall reasons but a Christian philosophy undergirds our democracies. Individuals are valued. Women, children, the needy are all provided for. This is according to holy law. Where Christ's light shines there is a difference in the way we treat each other & while there are many, many wonderful Christians in Africa there is also much witchcraft, hoodoo, & idolotry.

Dear Riven;
Do people from Azors even Look like Egyptians?
because Egyptians came from ethiopia. And In ethiopia first mans bones were found..Since I dont believe garden of Eden And Atlantis is the same thing, I think Garden of Eden was around Aden or Ethiopia(Which correlates with the science)
Atlantis could be in the Middle of Atlantic or somewhere else..there is no evidence Atlanteans were Egyptians..I think Atlantis was in the Mediterrenean and belonged to the Etruscans..Anyway, of course I could be wrong but
Thoth considered to be Noah, and Khem is the grandson of noah..how can Thoth say People of Khem?? there are a lot of mish mash about these stories..-------------------- Julianne
Perhaps we may yet find some truth in Egyptians look like us, rather than us of them. :)
As I responded in part Julianne, Azorians look like Europeans, The White Race of Hyperborea.
In Truth, Garden of Avila, and Atlantis are alike for two reasons.
A) Atlantis is the old name for our Earth (besides Atlantis city).
B) Africa IS Atlantean and The Garden of Avila IS in Tanzania.
Therefore, you have your correlation with science, Julianne.
As we have in fact revealed, there IS STRONG EVIDENCE of Atlantean Egyptians.
Remember, even a Pharaoh around the time of Solon and the Atlantis script, was named Pharaoh Atlanersa who wrote his Heiroglyphic A, with the rising arms of Shu for AT.
Which also reveals the etymology for the Atlas Mountains in relation to Shu also.
Don't forget, the monolithic Lion of Tala and Mansura visible upon the ground and the mentioning of Atlantean Chronicles by Edgar Cayce.
The Missing Sphinx I have also shown you which reveals the "Seat" of those Missing Chronicles, beyond any doubt for the location north west of the red pyramid, where the missing sphinx was, is precisely the same measurements as the one in Giza.
The Question remains, was their one Sphinx, and they moved this one to Giza, or was there Two Sphinxes?
The Twin Pyramids seem to justify two Sphinxes.
Then we have the Narmer Palette and The Gebel El Arak Knife as testimony to earlier Atlanteans, which also included the Tarxien cultures of Malta who battled the early Arabians on the Knife.
The Icing on our Atlantean Creamy Cake is..
THE DOUBLE FALCONS > = A-A = AtlAntis. 3500.bC
Then again, the Atlantis legend was PRESERVED BY EGYPT and forgotten by others.
We now understand why.
Don't confuse the Bible with true History.
Their may be some true history in the Bible, but not all, especialy when it was altered to favor gain.
Noah, 2350.bC, Gilgamesh,2600.bC and Deukalion,1625.bC are all the same according to their legends and scholarly dates of supposition.
Atlanteans controlled Europe upto Tyrhennia, so it was said, reality is the entire mediterranean and our Earth.
Because we are all Atlanteans in reality.
The harder part is not finding Atlantis, but before to the missing link.
Meaning that Azores Atlantis I, has a high priority to justify our old middle earth where we started from.
That is the big question, their or Africa.
I believe the old middle earth, Azores Atlantis I
The Great Flood of 6482.bC
The Garden of Avila- ReCreation
Atlantis II, in Mozambique
Atlantis War ca 3470.bC (Narmer palette/Gebel el Arak Knife appear)
Hathor Flood 3250.bC ( WHEN EGYPT CONVERTED FROM ATLANTEAN)
Atlantis III in Delta Nile and Egypt from Tanzania.
Atlantis Cycladic Map, Greece Cyclades 2800.bC.
Scholar Flood, 2350.bC
Deukalion Flood 1625.bC
So one thing is definitely certain Julian.
Africa is Atlantean.
If Scientists say we came from Africa...
what does that make us?
And I don't even need to prove to you how our English language and Alphabet comes from our older than Linear b, Linear A, or earlier Atlantean language groups.
Here's a good thought also.
The Chinese and Japanese are white, for the people of The Rising Sun.
Meaning Hyperborean roots like the Anu.
Even though we have many different colors, we still look alike.
Because we are in fact Atlanteans.
Water Children.
It may have taken them 5000 years to cover us up, and 2000 years to cover up The Bible, God and our True Garden of Avila (H-Avila-H).
But only 3-4 years to uncover their greatest of sins. :)
So, Atlanteans are Real.
Many Atlantean cities can be found. ( I,II,III, etc... )
Atlantean cultures are everywhere.
Egypt is Atlantean as are The Twin Pyramids.
The Garden of Avila IS in Tanzania, Africa near Lake Victoria and The Old Duvai Gorge.
The research was redirected by The Father (God -JA MN)
The Temple of Man has been found.
The Missing Sphinx, not yet.
The Atlantean Chronicles, not yet.
The Book of Thoth, not yet.

Best part is you didn't have to pay 79.97 to know this and to seek what has been revealed.
Worst part is you will find that it is all true, Julianne.
Just as Plato and Socrates and Timaeus said it was.
You have to stand back to see the Jungle and all the Beasts within.. :)
Tricia;
True, in a Court of pure Justice, The Bible would have to be tossed out, because, as they say, it leaves reasonable doubt!.
On the other hand, in a Court of pure Justice, Atlanteans would prevail to be recognized as a part of our "factual" world history.
Although Jesus Christ is not from here, he was born here on Earth.

You finaly can, today.
2500 years have passed since those men first laid ink upon the discovered writings of yesterday.
At best, they were not so fortunate as us to witness our Father's True Garden of Avila...

These are visions to witness, not a guess.
What are the odds that the satellite pics of Avila in Tanzania would echo the words of The Bible?

I hate to be the party pooper, but many of the countries you are discussing are largely Christian. Zimbabwe's official religion is Christian and there are more Christians in Zimbabwe than in any other African nation, yet they have one of the least stable governments and they have a semi-dictator as their leader.
Most of the Nigerian scams come from southern Nigeria, and that is the region that is Christian.
You could go down the list of African nations and find pretty much the same thing. The Christian nations are as prone to instability as any of the other ones.
Unfortunately, westerners still think of Africa as "the dark contintent" where savage pagans tear each other apart, but much of Africa has been Christianized for over a century, often more. England, Holland and France dominated Africa during the colonial period and it was flooded with missionaries and still is. I can name over 1000 Christian missions and evangelical organizations in Africa right now.
Being a "Christian" county doesn't guarantee stability. Being an atheisitc country doesn't guarantee instability. Witness France and England. Mostly atheist/agnostic, still stable. :sigh:

I wonder on the African Christian nation like Zimbabwe (Rhodesia) if that since it didn't have a historical background it's not as stable, as some of the other African nations that had "Christian" colonizers that were probably exploiters more than ministers to their people.
Not that history is any guarantee of anything...

I was speaking of the undergirding philosophy not the designated 'religion' as such. I do not think of Africa as a dark, uncivilised place but many of the nations have a high percentage of muslims & their track record on the sanctity of life is not good imo. I don't want to argue about it. It was just an opinion so I will now remove myself from the discussion.

Now I will admit I tend to look at Africa as the Dark Continent-the White Man's Grave. I guess if I actually examined nation by nation instead of taking media snapshots I'd have a better view...

Menno, thanks. Africa is a complex place and one has to be a part of her even to start understanding. There are thousands of different races, tribes and beliefs, so unravelling it all is quite a feat!
What I wonder is what are the blessings on a nation and how are they measured? Surely not by wealth, education and possessions? But how do you measure a nation's faith, love, honesty, honour, respect...?

I suppose it would begin with the way a gov't treats its people. Now, if you look at US history, between the slavery and abortion it's not really got a lot to brag-room for improvement which it did with the slavery thing. But I would guess things begin there...?

But people can flourish and thrive dispite the things going on around them, I think Jackal is saying.
You see chaos and a lack of God's blessing on those countries, and Jackal sees God's blessings through the faith, love, honesty, and hard work of the people.
You think God blesses countries in the way you prefer and when you don't see that prefered way playing in other countries, you think it means God isn't there. Jackal thinks God's blessings are there in the rebellious places, too, and that your idea that stability and wealth are the earmark of God's blessings is narrow-sighted.
It would be interesting for you to have a conversation with Jackal and see where he's coming from so that you can experience the depth of who God is and what he does.
I really think when you know God better, your endless searching for a satifying spiritual life will come to an end.

Menno/Brothers/Sisters, This is what the christians' in America should and will be doing, when they awake from their sleeping.
Then awake, O sleeper, and rise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light!
This a another chapter from that "little book" of Revelation chapter 10.
ISAIAH 18
IN WHICH ANNOUNCEMENT IS MADE TO THOSE SCATTERED BEYOND THE SEA OF THE LIBERATION OF SOUTHERN AFRICA
1 Hail to the land shadowed by wings, which is past the rivers of Nubia;
2 That sends ambassadors by sea, even with artifacts of papyrus upon the surface of the waters, saying, "Go, swift messengers, to a nation scattered and become plunder, to a people whose history has been fearful from of old; a nation meted out and trodden under foot, who were taken as spoil down the rivers of their land."
3 All who inhabit the world and dwell upon the earth, when He raises a standard upon the mountains, look; and when He sounds the ram’s horn, listen.
4 For so has the LORD said to me, "I will be still and will observe from My dwelling place, like clear heat shimmering, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest."
5 Because before the harvest, when the bud is complete and the flower becomes a ripening grape, He will cut off the sprigs with pruning knives, and take away and cut down the branches.
6 They will be left together for the birds of prey of the mountains and for the beasts of the earth; and the birds of prey will spend the summer feasting on them, and all the beasts of the earth will feast on them through the winter.
7 At that time an offering will be brought to the LORD of hosts from a people scattered and become plunder, and from a people whose history has been fearful from of old, a nation meted out and trodden under foot, who were taken as spoil down the rivers of their land, to the place of the Name of the LORD of hosts, the mount of Zion.
The joy of the great Afro-American diaspora at the liberation of southern Africa and the extirpation of the militantly racist settler element that dominates it now is here prophesied. Nubia is the ancient name of the Sudan, whose rivers extend to Lake Victoria in Uganda. The land referred to is, of course, "past the rivers" from the perspective of Palestine. The "wings" are the massive projections of the northern portion of the continent to the east and west. "Artifacts of papyrus" are books or the like; "whose history has been fearful" in the sense of tragic. The "pruning knives" symbolize the liberation forces.
And we may understand that these ambassadors journey over the sea not only to declare good tidings here but also to invite rotating cadres of black American administrators and technicians to southern Africa to replace the reprobates and so help ensure the continued prosperity of that land during a transitional period to follow their overthrow and to conclude with the founding of a Christian communalist democracy of the type discussed at some length elsewhere. And who can know whether the aid of black Americans might not ultimately be sought by the victims of yet other tyrannical or dictatorial African regimes as well, or in abrogating that gruesome form of racist stratification known as "caste" introduced into the society and religion of ancient India by her ethnically European Indo-Aryan conquerors, who being few in number devised a corpus of apartheid legislation in those days and then preached it as revealed dogma among the subjugated peoples, a root destined to bear gall and woe in every age; as that of other Americans will surely be for the liberation and social and economic restructuring of their own ancestral homelands within either the Celtic culture zone of the British Isles or the Soviet colonial sphere in Eastern Europe, or the restoration of the ancient peasant social order in Mexico and throughout the whole of Latin America, or the re-establishment of an independent Tahuantinsuyu encompassing the zone of Incan heritage and Quechuan speech and culture within the territory of the present Andean republics — and as is only just and right after many aeons of torment and spoliation and the Indian utterly isolated and uncomprehending, surrounded by lies and the power of the gun and the leer of the conqueror indelibly branded on every face?
Raise the standard over the walls of Babylon; strengthen the guard, set up watchmen, prepare ambushes; for the LORD has both devised and performed what He has spoken against the inhabitants of Babylon. O you who dwell by many waters, abundant in treasures, your end has come, even the reward for your covetousness! The LORD has sworn by Himself, saying, "Surely I will fill you with men as with locusts and they will raise the war cry against you!"
— Jeremiah 51:12-14
