View Full Version : My day at the University.

My day at the university. On my way to class I cross several cars decked with tolerance and rainbow stickers. Then I cross an anti-war rally where I see signs "No Aid To Israel!". Then I get to class where I learn the origins of the Israelites are the hill country of Canaan (whereas a few weeks ago we learned the Exodus didn't really happen). Higher learning?

I am so sorry for you, Yehoshua!
I was fortunate to go to a uni which a good friend recommended. When I arrived, I saw to my surprise that it was about 80% Jewish. What was Arnold Levy thinking when he recommended to his good gentile friend that the school was swell? :D How was I to know that Arnold was Jewish? :P Thus began my love affair with all things Jewish!
That said, the uni is as liberal as liberal can be. I can't recall any Orthodox students - only Reformed from NY/NJ.

It actually doesn't bother me that much because my faith is strong and I understand why they believe the way they do (not that I agree, but I understand). It forces me to be stronger and to dig deeper to find the truth and stand by the truth. What scares me isn't the effect on me but on others who actually trust what these people in positions of power (professors, student groups) are dispensing.

Too true.
At the time I was in uni, in the 1960's I believed that every word out of every prof's mouth was gospel. I wasn't a believer at the time. It certainly led me down an ultra-liberal path that horrified my Roosevelt-Democrat father and Republican mother. :D
Fortunately the Ruach HaKodesh performed overnight spiritual surgery on me and I'm now sane! ;)
