Seriously this is a chore sometimes....

This year I just really need a makeover for my house...

I dont have time or energy to spring clean, my rooms are full of clutter and my family is not interested in helping....

Funny how our houses can go to pot and this job of cleaning out the camp can become a huge ordeal....You sometimes dont even know where to begin....

selah........;)

there is a lesson in there somewhere KWIM:wave:

ever since i started thinking about the leaven in my life (as pesach is rapidly approaching) I notice it everywhere! I have clutter on my desk at work and I know leaven is hiding in all the little crannies and around my feet on the floor. My apartment needs a deep clean because I know I'll be shocked to find that pesky leaven in places I didn't think I ever took it.

Isn't it interesting how our shoes carry leaven and deposit it around where we go?
Makes me think... the way we walk can spread leaven. The way we walk can spread sin even if we don't consciously bring it into different areas of our lives.

This will be my first "cleaning out the leaven". I did not do so last year, to my sorrow.

I have decluttered my house pretty severely the past couple of years. It has been a relief to get rid of "stuff". I'll happily clear and clean it out again. And sing praises while I'm doing so. I'm actually looking forward to it! Who knows what lurks in the back of my fridge and cupboards! (And my brother-in-law helps me with the heavy stuff :) )

The chore of cleaning out the leaven isnt nessessarily about the actual yeast and crumbs that we find everywhere, or about the clutter and mess we find in our living circumstances ...It's a picture of our inner lives and the world around us, and it's a chore to get our focus on our hearts and lives......

How can we NOT think of out own hearts as we go around cleaning out the drawers, and behind the furniture, and the back of closits....how many of you are like me and say..."OK ABBA I get it now:thumbsup:......I surrender these secret places to you"...

I dont want to have to do this every year, but if I dont, I will miss the blessing of at least being able to once again examine my heart... For me it's not about getting my house clean, but rather getting fed up with having a dirty heart and mind.....So I welcome the search for leaven inspite of what my own will is saying :D

I've been listening to FFOZ's "Knocking on Heaven's Gate" about prayer and the first CD taught about the Feasts. Boaz assigned a "c" word to describe our hearts during each feast and I think that "conscientious" was the word for the days leading up to Unleavened Bread. It was not just cleaning the house of leaven but of examination of our hearts for sin. Should be interesting in my house this year! :D

Great posts, Tishri and Eirene!
