I'm reading an excerpt from a book which claims that female mystics (as distinguished from male mystics?) exhibit certain similar patterns. I'd like to know if anyone here has ever read about a female mystic and to see if there is a "pattern" that is "typical."
1) Does the "typical" female mystic have an experience of a "dark night of the soul"?
2) Are female mystics attracted to the beauty of Jesus?
3) Do female mystics exhibit "striking female manifestations" when they are haiving their mystical experience?
The same questions apply if you happen to know of "male mystics." Names, dates, sources etc. would be greatly appreciated.
