I love him, I think he is GREAT.
I have many of his tapes which I listen to on the way to work. I also watch his services on TV alot.

He "was" an okay preacher. He died in 2005. He was an expository preacher. He also was outspoken against liberalism and materialism which I respect him for. My only issue with him was he was fiercely opposed to Calvinism even though he partnered with Al Mohler and other Reformed Baptists.

I went to his church for many tears and still continue to listen to him on the radio. I have heard that he opposes calvinism, but cannot recall him making any statements along those lines that I disagreed with. Not saying there are none but I have not heard them, and many times I have heard statements along those lines that I agreed with totally. Tithing is one area where I disagreed with him, but I respected him as a man of God, always willing to stand for the truth. His election as SBC president helped to strengthen it and prevent liberalism from creeping in at a difficult time.

I always enjoyed what he had to say.
I believe he was a godly man.
