Each week I put a passage on the back of our weekly bulletin. Because we're an ecumenically minded church, I try to find quotes from important people in various Christian traditions.
Next week I'm preaching on the Transfiguration, highlighting the fact that the revelation of Jesus' glory is tied to the revelation of his death on the cross--and that the disciples can't understand one because they can't understand the other.
It occurred to me that this would be a good time to find a quote from Luther (or another major figure in the Lutheran tradition). I was wondering if anyone would be willing to suggest passages of 200-350 words about theology of the cross.
Thanks!
