I would like to see a fire background for all us gloom & doom preachers! haha!
mabey even a PIT of fire, but ALL fire in the background please?
I'm sorry, I do not know how to create these types of images myself..
But fire should be pretty easy to get, if ya don't already have some lyin around ;)
I say it should cost 666 blessing-heh-why not, nothing else does, and it is the number of the beast as a good reminder for unbelievers that the enemy is roaring :tutu:

Acknowledged :).
Zeena,
I'm going to refer this request to the Armory staff liaison, rather than wait on the approval process. Requests for similar items have been declined in the past due to the potential for misuse, though I'm sure that most members here at CF would never misuse an armory item.
Imagine how someone would feel if they received an anonymous gift of an item like this, especially after a heated debate in one of the theology forums. It could be used as a sneaky way of telling someone "You're not going to Heaven, you know."
We on the armory design team have to avoid the potential for such situations when we can forsee them.

What about it being something to represent us being on fire for God? I think it would be cool.

There already is "tongues of fire"-hehe ;)
And in the CF options page you can say your mood is "Holy Spirit filled" too ;)

Somehow I think a background representing Hell wouldn't exactly be appropriate for a Christian website?

Hell is an imporatant aspect of the future that aught not to be ignored!
Those who refuse the Lord's Life here on earth will NEVER enter into it come the day of judgement!
They MUST be warned! :o
2 Chronicles 19:10 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=14&chapter=19&verse=10&version=9&context=verse)
And what cause soever shall come to you of your brethren that dwell in your cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and judgments, ye shall even warn them that they trespass not against the LORD, and so wrath come upon you, and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not trespass.
Ezekiel 33:7 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=33&chapter=33&verse=7&version=9&context=verse)
So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.
1 Thessalonians 5:14 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=59&chapter=5&verse=14&version=9&context=verse)
Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
Deuteronomy 18:19 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=5&chapter=18&verse=19&version=9&context=verse)
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
Ezekiel 33:4-6
Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.
He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul. But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.

For a Topheth is prepared of old; yea, for the king it is made ready; he hath made it deep and large; the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of Jehovah, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.
When will it be ready?

Hi Zeena,
It will be a few weeks before items on the March 15 list are reviewed. If it is approved, it will be a few weeks after that before it is designed and added.

I would like to point out that when combined with the dynamite stick, the red eyes and the smirk face, a fire background could cause a CF character to approach maximum pyromaniacal awesomeness. :D

Oh but Zeena, 666 blessings is too expensive. Who wants to pay that much for fire and brimstone, eh? How about nine blessings, for the nine circles of Hell in Dante's Inferno, hmmm?

Matthew 7:6 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=47&chapter=7&verse=6&version=9&context=verse)
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
For it we cast our pearls before swine, they will turn and trample and rend us!
Isaiah 51:21-23
Therefore hear now this, thou afflicted, and drunken, but not with wine: Thus saith thy Lord the LORD, and thy God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, even the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again: But I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee; which have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street, to them that went over.
They too, shall drink from the cup of the Lord's wrath! :D

How so? IRL, you can get all kinds of tracts from Chick Publications for a relatively low price, and a round-trip bus ticket to Manhattan from where I live is only about $23.

Jokes aside, Raven is absolutely right. I would personally find it hilarious if some anonymous member (or staffer!) spent 666 blessings to give me the gift of hellfire, but some Unorthodox Christians and "unbelievers" might not appreciate it so much.
Remember, everyone, your faith is not dictated by an icon on this here internet forum. ;)

BTW, I've thought more about this, and to me, this background just seems like it would be used only as an insult. I mean, if "blessed" with this item, you'd better believe I'd equip it in no time, complete with a snarky tagline to appear when one scrolls over my character.
Others will probably not be quite as appreciative. You're likely to hurt someone's feelings with this one, Zeena.

I'm inclined to agree with this... I think this background is a really bad idea. Besides, preaching "fire and brimestone" with an item for a character on an internet forum isn't likely to convert many people.

i think it is a bad idea although i would love to see a fire background just the idea in this case is not to good unless of course you just want a fire in your background without it haveing to be like hell or even symbolize it. Pesonally i think fire is pretty.

If it were only possible to code this so that it couldn't be given away to another member in any manner, so that anyone who had it and used would've had to have gone to the armoury to get for his/her self.
That, or it becomes an incredibly rare and expensive item, like maybe have 10 total available (no re-stocking) and jack the price to something insane like 666.666.666 blessings.

Uh, but you have to understand that it wouldn't scare us.
I'd giggle, others would be highly irritated, some may even be upset; but I can almost gurantee you that you will not win ANY converts with your hellfire background.
What kind of Lord wants people to convert out of fear, anyway? Certainly not the Lord Jesus I worship...

Psalm 111:10 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=23&chapter=111&verse=10&version=9&context=verse)
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
Proverbs 1:7 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=24&chapter=1&verse=7&version=9&context=verse)
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 2
My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.
Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path. When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things; Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
14Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked; Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths: To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead. None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life. That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous. For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.
Proverbs 8:13 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=24&chapter=8&verse=13&version=9&context=verse)
The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
Isaiah 11:2 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=29&chapter=11&verse=2&version=9&context=verse)
And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
Acts 9:31 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=51&chapter=9&verse=31&version=9&context=verse)
Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

With all due respect, Zeena, none of these verses really strike fear into my heart.
I don't make it a point to fear my Lord God, and I certainly don't fear people on the interwebs who are willing to spend 666 blessings to tell me I'm going to Hell.

The point is, that item has high potential to be abused in a manner to cause offense to lots of people. Character items are for fun, not to insult people. They shouldn't be used as weapons against those with differing beliefs. To anonymously bless someone with this item is like saying they are going to hell, which is like saying they aren't Christian and that's breaking CF rules. I don't see how this item could avoid being used to break rules in that way.
