Promoting Tolerance

In my community, I am thinking of creating a Gay-Straight Alliance group to promote understanding between the gay community and the church who has pushed them away in the past

Any ideas as to what the group should include?

Look, I don't have a problem with showing mercy to sinners as Jesus did, but you need to remember that they are sinners, and homosexuality is one of their sins. Jesus was very loving to the swindlers and prostitutes, but He didn't say their sins weren't really sins.

Don't knock homosexuality until you've tried it ;)
Seriously though, they deserve as much love and respect as other human beings. We assume the bible is the word of god, but it could have been written by anybody.
