Luther often speaks out against the Sacramentarians. Who were they?
My reference is LW vol. 23 p. 147 on discussion of John 6.
Any help here apprciated.

Luther's main problem with the sacramentarians related to the fact that they denied the presence of the body and blood of Christ in Communion. Beyond that, I'm not sure.

That being the case, it would be the Ana-Baptists and Zwinglii. Then later Calvin, Zwinglii's student, so the Huguenots and Presbyterians whom Calvin founded. Still, Luther and Melanthion offered protection and sanctuary for Calvin when the French attempted to take his life. So the scism couldn't have been too very bitter.
Though, Luther's views on the Ana-Baptists and Zwinglii were not friendly. So it could have been only them to whom he was referring. I couldn't say for sure on this subject.
This was a very interesting question, does anyone else know more? I, for one, would love to hear it.

"Sacramentarians" refer to those who believe that Christ's body and blood are only present in the sacrament symbolically. This included Calvin and other Reformed theologians.
