The Me Attitudes

Ever since a young layd I know wrote to me and stated, "I don't believe in God because He's never done anything for me and He never will," I've been trying to take a closer look at society. What I've seen is very sad (and has only been amplified with the stories of Anna Nicole Smith's life and death). More adn more it seems society tell us to rely on ourselves and to be of the world. It seems to be all about greed.

Society says, "Those who surround themselves in tragedy will be noticed by others."

Jesus says, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

Society says, "Those who wallow in self-pity will find others like themselves."

Jesus says, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted,"

Society says, "Those who fight for what they want will get what they want."

Jesus says, "Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth."

Society says, "Those who indulge in material possessions will be happy."

Jesus says, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled."

Society says, "Those who care only for themselves will survive."

Jesus says, "Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.

Society says, "Those who keep their feeling to themselves will never get hurt."

Jesus says, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God."

Society says, "Those who forge their own pathes will get ahead in life."

Jesus says, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God."

Society says, "Those who are praised will be respected and live in renown."

Jesus says, "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

Society says, "When people admire or hate you because of your material possessions or your actions, you have made a name for yourself."

Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be lad, for your reward is great in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."

Very well put. I am finishing up Beth Moore's study of Daniel and the last few days with the Anna Nicole Smith news everywhere just makes me realize that Babylon is here and now. It is so hard to remain in Christ with such backward messages bombarding us from society.

God Bless you are all in my prayers.
