Uncle Clem took a break from CF (we all do that now and again) and eoe was here some days ago. Not everyone 'announces' their leaving/break.

I'm seriously considering such a break. Maybe for Lent so I can concentrate more on reading and whatever my priest tells me to do. The problem I have is when people say things on CF which contradict what my priest has told me.

Like what?
One of the reasons I like being here is because I like being able to alleviate misconceptions and dispel misinformation, and I've learned a lot myself.
Also, if Uncle Clem reads this... Hi, and I'm praying for you  :crosseo:

Are you being baptized/Chrismated this Pascha, or is it not even a thought for this year?

It has also been my experience to find things on the Internet that contradict what I have been taught...particularly extremes regarding the legal language of atonement. Then there are differences in praxis from one jurisdication to another...like never kneeling on Sundays...well, I attend a Greek church and we kneel.
Once I decided to pursue entry into the Church I backed down on my internet forum participation because I was fast becoming aware of the difference between Internet Orthodoxy and real life Orthodoxy. There are some wonderful online places to go that are fully and completely Orthodox and not even remotely dangerous in that they are void of conflicting or extreme Orthodox views. Father Stephen Freeman's blog (http://fatherstephen.wordpress.com/)is just such a place.
You bring up a good idea to log out for Lent and work on the things your priest would have you study. I think I am going to do that as well this year.

I make it required daily reading for myself!

When Clement left staff, he decided to take a break. Eoe is a moderator for the Theology forums, which are very busy. He might not always have time to check in at TAW.

Well, if Clement decides to become Orthodox, I hope he lets us know.

I would go with the priest, as long as he and his church are in communion - internet forums are much worse in the advice column than your priest.

Wow...I didn't even know they were missing. Butthat may be because, what with my busy schedule and all, I'm sometimes...heck, usually...not on myself. Hope they're ok...:)

Things like the toll houses (he doesn't condemn it, just calls it a pious opinion that's not necessary) and birth control.

We haven't discussed it yet. Right now, we're just working on the lessons.

Yep, the church is Greek Orthodox. :)

Hmmmm. What does a "butthat" look like? Is it worn by buttheads? ^_^
(Forgive me!)
