There has been talk in the Anglican forum (http://www.christianforums.com/f368-scripturetraditionreason-anglican-old-catholic.html) about possibly having a conservative subfoum and a liberal subforum. It would be good to hear from you about what differences have happened in the Lutheran forum after the introduction of your new subforums. The relevant thread is here (http://www.christianforums.com/t4723421-discussion-about-dividing-str.html).

Thank you for your time :)

A few years ago we had a lot of flaming on our forum, heated discussions and peronal attacks. That was when we went to the sub forums. The idea was to provide a safe haven for each to discuss without intervetion from the other. The truth is they aren't used that much nor should they be. If people can only learn to discuss things without heated replies we wouldn't have a use for them, but they do serve a useful purpose for discussing things within each mindset.

How is that for a beat around the bush answer? :D

I really like having the conservative and liberal separated forums. There are times when discussions of some topics completely aggravate me and it's nice to be able to discuss with like minds without worry about something coming up that I believe is unbiblical.

Humm we seem to again focusing on our differences and not on our sameness.

Something like that causes IMHO more harm than good.

We as Lutherans need to come together. Not seperate from one another.

Well said. We're experiancing serious problems within our own house.:o These need to be addressed.:sigh:

Still, we need a safe place to discuss topics that would cause dispute amoungst ourselves that aren't helpful. A home place, if you will. The creation of yet another division in the forums, fracturing things further, (I suppose this would be GT?) may not be helpful.

The reason that we have seperate subforums is that some conversations got to the point that members were being warned and banned for defending their doctrines. One member was banned for a year for quoting the Confessions in defense of an ELCA error. Others have either been banned or left outright. It was the only way to save the TC-L forum from collapsing.

Yes, sadly, the church will remain divided till Christ comes to take his bride home.:(

Yeah, why would one want to waste time getting aggravated on a Web site? There's enough aggravation in everyday life.

There have been other, secular forums that I've been on that died because of people flaming each other, etc.
