View Full Version : Icky

So I've felt and acted terribly and all around "icky" lately. I've been eating a lot. A LOT. I am bored--I eat. I see food on TV--I grab a snack. I was watching the Tyra Banks Show yesterday (love the show!) and it was about anorexia and modeling. The talk of food made me want to eat. So I ate.
I have been doing terrible in school. I am lazy. I get home and get on the computer and watch TV. My grades are suffering because of it. I sleep in class sometimes, or daydream. I have no want to learn. I have no want lately to push myself or try to do anything.
I get to where I nearly hate my mother sometimes, and so I go to my room and cuss her out. Then I feel all better.
I'm just... blargh. What's wrong with me? >_<
And no, it isn't depression. I am not constantly sad. I am generally fine with friends unless they remind me how very gay I act, which makes me really sad. And how "You wouldn't be Justin--the most awesomest person ever--if you weren't gay". I am also very happy when I watch TV (except Gray's Anatomy. It's so depressing :P). And I am very happy playing Vanguard: Saga of Heroes.

Are you sure it's not depression? I'd say check with a doctor.

What you describe sounds a LOT like depression.
Depression is not necessarily "sad".

Your right.
Your fifteen. When I was fifteen I would eat the table if my mom didn't stop me!
Asking for your prayers,

None of us are experts here but I have to agree with Proto here.
I'm also fine with friends. It keeps my mind off things and so. The lack of focus, inspiration, 'can't get going', feeling that nothing really 'does it'... it's pretty typical. However, I also look at your age and a lot of us went through the ups and downs from hour to hour and day to day at that age. It's called hormones! :P

Haha. I know, hormones, etc. But it's extra worse as opposed to normal. And I'm hating it. >_<

Get yourself involved with something: take up a sport, join a club, ect.
I know that helped me out a lot when I was your age. I'd stay up late, sleep in class, didn't do homework, didn't really feel like doing anything, ect.

I don't consider my eating normal. Being 6' tall and 265lbs isn't exactly... what's the word... healthy? :p
Lotar, how did you end up not failing school?

I decided to change the way I did things. I stopped wasting so much of my time doing stupid carp, like watching tv, playing rpgs, ect. I joined the cross country and track teams, and got new friends who liked to go out and do stuff.
Less idle time and excersize helped me be less lazy, gave me energy, and made me a happier person.

I would definitely recommend getting active. I know that can be hard when you are not in shape but it is very very worth it. Even a little exercise can make you feel better and be more fit. Exercising gives you something to so you don't sit around eating and getting cranky. And exercise releases endorphins which actually make you happier. I remember easily getting angry with my family when I was your age, I think part of it is that we always treat the people we love a little worse than everyone else because we know they will forgive us. I would speak to my priest about this a lot in confession and he always recommended trying to love them even more when I feeling angry. It was not always easy but I think it helps.

It really helps to get out of a "rut" and start doing different things, or doing things differently. :) Finding new friends, new hobbies, new places to go, and such, are the spice of life. Praying for you, here. :crosseo:
