Vegetarians should be forced to eat double quarter pounders with cheese every day during Great Lent!

(just kidding)...

It was a JOKE!!!

I'm just jealous, I just have a really hard time coming up with good recipes to fix for fast. Not too complicated but tasty...

I know! That movie was pretty funny too... still don't think 2-3 Big Macs a year is going to kill me... nor will the few steaks I eat a year.

Does that mean my little steak thread running in the Taverna won't kill you?

I fast voluntarily.

I fast in certain ways but keep the methodology private in order as to not boast about fasting for the sake of fasting.

Unbeknownst to me, I still maintain my sincerity and solidarity concerned with the fasting traditions of the Orthodox Church.

It is ok to joke about things within Orthodoxy. Joking about fasting is NOT sacrilege, and helps us to understand what is matter of doctrine and thus uchangable and what is praxis and can change over time. It also helps to keep us from taking ourselves too seriously. That is why The Onion Dome is such a trip!

It is a REALLY hilarious website written by The Reader Alexis that pokes fun at the silly things we do in the name of Orthodox Christianity.

Make sure you do not take The Onion Dome seriously. It is full of satire and must be understood in that light. There are many who don't get that it is quite funny and meant to poke fun at some of the sillier things that we as Orthodox Christians do in the name of being Orthodox.
