 Hey everyone,
My name is Dawn and I'm here because, well, I think God wants me here. I have been praying He would show me where He wants me and my family to go to church and I found some online quizzes that determine what denomination you are based on your answers and their importance. They all came back 100% Mennonite. Well, hubby is not going to go for that, he was concerned when I told him God wants me to wear dresses and headcoverings, he thought that meant he had to change, too. So, I shrugged it off.
Then, the other day, out of the blue, I got a PM on here from someone asking if I had ever considered the Mennonite church. Okay, God now has my full, undivided attention. So, I'm here to ask if anyone knows of any liberal Mennonite churches in the Brooksville,Mississippi area? I know its mostly Mennonites, its why I want to move there. For hubby its bc the land is gorgeous down that way.
Thank you for reading through all of this and I appreciate any help you can offer me. :)
God bless you,
Dawn

I believe you can check various Anabaptist denominations, not just Mennonite. Mennonite is probably the most conservative other than Amish. The denomination I was involved in was "Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches". It is a conservative Anabaptist Church. My wife started wearing dresses and headcoverings there. FGBC (http://www.fgbc.org/) However, the bad news is that FGBC do not have a congregation in Mississippi :(.
There are two mennonite Churches but I don't NOT know much about them and who they are affiliated with the main denomination. But you can check them out as you visit them.

If you read through the threads on this forum I'm pretty sure someone's given a link to a listing of Mennonite churches elsewhere. Alternatively you could try the links in the sticky or simply google mennonite churches & see what comes up.
Here's what I found but there may be others.

If you are looking for a modern Anabaptist group, you can go to
Mennonite USA (http://www.mennoniteusa.org/)
If you are looking for a plain group, conservative group, etc, you can go to
Christian Light Publications (http://www.clp.org/Church%20Locator.shtml)
Thanks to Danfrey.
Sorry to be of so little help but I'm not mennonite & am in the wrong country to be of more assistance.

Do more than an online quiz...
Check your Bible.
The Mennonite principle of seperation from the world is correct .
James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Headcovering and dresses in themselves is not enough to decide that denomination is correct.
John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Hi Dawn
I hope that you succeed in finding a fellowship where you will find the bread of life and companions for your pilgrimage.
I worshipped with Mennonite congregations for several years, and was blessed greatly by the experience.
