Good day, Taken07
Gluttony of any sort is a sin, not just of Junk food.
I do love ho-ho's though.
Mat 15:17 Perceive ye not, that whatsoever goeth into the mouth passeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
Mat 15:18 But the things which proceed out of the mouth come forth out of the heart; and they defile the man.
In Him,
Bill

but what about just eating one candy bar, what if your moderate about it? Is it a sin then?
and also, is there a passage in the bible that directly says that gluttony is a sin? I cant remember if there are any passages.

Gluttony is the abuse, and is contrary to God's Word because it is the twin of greed. The NT does not speak of gluttony, specifically, but does speak about greed routinely.
As BBAS has quoted, nothing we put into our mouths as food defiles us. So, know that we are free in Christ, and enjoy snacks in moderation. Your parents have given you the right advice.

You can be a glutton about anything, not just things like junk food. Exercise is a good thing, but more exercise than you need can hurt you. Visiting with sick people is good, but it's bad if spend so much time that you neglect your own family. And, one candy bar is good, it is delicious, it makes you smile:), but 2,3,4 candy bars will make you feel sick in several different ways.
God wants us to enjoy His good blessings (He did, after all, invent cocoa beans), but when we get greedy we eventually cease to recieve the blessing those things are intended to bring us.
So, which will God bless? An occasional candy bar, or a large bag of fun size Snickers at one sitting?
Read Proverbs 23:1-2, then go ahead and enjoy that chocolate.

[Romans 14:14 – 23]
14 I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. 15 Yet if your brother is grieved because of your food, you are no longer walking in love. Do not destroy with your food the one for whom Christ died. 16 Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil; 17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.
19 Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another. 20 Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are pure, but it is evil for the man who eats with offense. 21 It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak. 22 Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. 23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.

1Co 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit in you, whom you have of God? And you are not your own,
Our body is a temple, so we should look after it, if we eat and drink to the point of causing harm to our bodies then we are causing damage to the temple, so enjoy your snacks just don't go mad.

It's not a sin to eat this stuff? But it is unhealthy if you tend to overeat them. Your parents are right, the key to a healthy living is, it should all be in moderation.
God bless!!!

To say that verse means you can get drunk or eat yourself to death and not sin is to take the verse out of context. God would be the biggest culprit of double talk. We must always interpret scripture with scripture.

What's your reasoning for eating them? Are you eating so much it's making you unhealthy? Is your eating of them causing others to stumble? Those are all questions you must ask yourself to see if what your doing is sin. The same goes with drinking and smoking.
