Pleading the blood of Yeshua [open]

Is there scriptural basis for those who 'plead the blood of Jesus'? What does that mean exactly and why do they feel the need to plead for it? I have heard the song "Power in the blood" but I would think talking to Yeshua firsthand would make more sense. Am I missing something?

In my human understanding without any Scriptural backup... I think people who say "I plead the blood of Jesus" or whatever... might mean they're proclaiming themselves washed clean in the blood of the lamb... part of HaShem's Family. This blood, they may say, has the power to restore, heal, give power....

I have heard this phrase ever since I got saved 28 yrs ago. I have a booklet that was written back in the 1800's that is all about the Blood, the power in the Blood, etc. and pleading the Blood of Jesus. I can't find that phrase in Scripture though, but maybe there are Scriptures that allude to the thought?

I've heard that the "pleading of the blood of Jesus" is for protection prayers or battle prayer related to spiritual warfare.

I believe that there are three things contained in the Blood of Jesus – forgiveness, deliverance and protection.

They then give bible references to forgiveness, deliverance and protection to back up their idea scriptually.

When asked why their response was:
Here is my argument on this. If the shed blood of the Old Testament lambs used for the temporary covering of sins eventually leads to the shedding of Jesus’ blood for permanent and total forgiveness of all of our sins, can we also use that same analogy and say that the shed blood of the lambs used in the Passover for divine protection could also lead to the shed Blood of Jesus having divine protection in it?

How To:
The basic things that you will want covered under the Blood of Jesus for protection are the following:

your body, soul and spirit
your house
your car
your finances
your office – if you work
your spouse and children if you are married

Any one of these could come under demonic or human attack at any time. Pleading the Blood of Jesus on your car will help prevent you from getting into any serious auto accidents along with helping to prevent any break-ins or theft of your car.

Why there has to be the whole "plead the blood" process with it's own special name etc, I don't know. What happened to simply asking God for protection, wisdom, and discernment in His Name? Oh, right - doesn't sound as "spiritual".

Blood rituals of the ancient world have taken over and still influence believers to turn from teh truth to lies. There is life in blood which I grant you. The Sacrfice of Yeshua for our sins, I grant you. But the focus on the blood like it is a magical concoction, disturbs me also.
