Because we remember what we were saved from and where we are going! ;)

That's true we remember what we are saved from and where we are going, but that has nothing to do with the OP. In the first post Amisk quoted someone who said the Lord's Supper is a constant reminder of His return. I asked him how this was so, and he has yet to answer.

Actually, it does have something to do with the OP and the quote. We "shew the Lord's death till He come." (1 Cor. 11:26) The observance points to two great facts--the Lord's death, and to his second coming; one past, the other future. The observance is to continue "till He come."
Pastor Perry F. Rockwood is an ultra-fundamental, KJV-only proponent who has been on the radio, hosting the 'People's Gospel Hour' for decades now. ;)

I fail to see how he having a radio show has any effect on his quote making any sense.

Here's the passage regarding communion in it's context:
Luke 22:
15 And He said to them, "I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer;
16 for I say to you, I shall never again eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God."
17 And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He said, "Take this and share it among yourselves;
18 for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now on until the kingdom of God comes."
19 And when He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, "This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me." 20 And in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood.
21 "But behold, the hand of the one betraying Me is with Mine on the table.
In the context, I don't see that the focus of communion is on His return, but on the sacrifice He's making for us.
The context then goes right into the Betrayer. There's no direct focus placed on meditating on Jesus' return that I see.
If anything we can take communion remember His payment for us AND in hope of His physical return. :wave:

Sorry I didn't answer as soon as I should have. I have been busy at the Thrift Store and didn't get to the computer as quickly as I would like too.
I have nothing to add to what Ray has said. Every time we par-take of communion our minds should be reminded what the Lord has saved us from. It is also a call to confess any sin that is in our life. To straighten out any problems between me and my neighbour, and the hold ceremony (for lack of better word) points straight forward to a day on God's calendar when Jesus Christ will come through the clouds to remove His church from this sin-sick world in which we live.

Below is the OP as posted by Amisk:

Where in this post is there a scriptural reference to 1 Corinthians? Nowhere. The post is what it is, and it says what it says. Now Perry Rockwood may have cited this scripture from 1 Corinthians when he preached about Communion, but that is not in the OP. I'm dealing with Amisk's OP as it is written and nowhere in that post is there anything that proves a connection between the administering of Communion and the Lord's return. Your scripture may provide that link, but I am not going to read it into the OP as you have done. The post is what it is and it is not clear on how the two are connected.
