As you can see here (http://www.christianforums.com/t3322776-important-you-must-link-back-to-cf.html), CF now has a forum for your favorite web links. The only catch is that you link back to CF, which is absolutely fine, considering I've been dying to share this little project with you all.
Click here (http://www.christianforums.com/t4554308-orthopraxis.html) to see the thread. Orthopraxis is off to a nice start with 15 members and nearly 300 posts to date. It's a forum made for fellowship, and the inquiry of the Orthodox faith. Feedback is highly appreciated at this point, and I'd love to see you all there, if you could add another forum to your lists.
Thank you for the consideration.
And here's a little screenshot to get a basic idea of the layout:

Bump.
No feedback at all? How's the layout, and the forum listing? What could be added? What could be taken away? I'm looking for anything right now.

We jumped up to 19 members and broke the record: 7 online users at once as of tonight. Thank you all so much for joining. It's not a forum without a community. :)

Now there are 21 members with more guests on the way.
Come on over. We can still post in both websites.
Yes, there is a little duplication, but a lot of new stuff too.
And since we do not encourage serious debating,
it might be that we at Orthopraxis will think of debate topics that can be argued over here at CF.
Again, the two can be quite compatible.

Don,
Thanks for that, but the problem I'm having is logging in using the information I provided when I hit the "join now" button. I registered , but every time I try to sign it, I'm told that my member name doesn't exist.
Thanks again,
Don

Erwin said that people who are having posting problems at CF after any major site changes (and that applies to Orthopraxis) should clear all their cookies, and then log out and then back in again.
That seems to work.
Oh, BTW, there are now 29 people at Orthopraxis with many familiar 'faces'. Come and see.

*bump* Orthopraxis is an excellent site and I suggest TAW members join Orthopraxis.nc to contribute the site. :priest:

Hey, Eusebios,
Orthopraxis is best viewed on Firefox. Don just recently installed Firefox and everything is much smoother now.
That may be why you were having problems registering.
So, if you don't mind downloading Firefox, come on over. Then all the bells and whistles will work fine.

We hope you come and join us, Eusebios. If worse comes to worse and you can't figure out how to register, I'll create an account for you and you can go in and change the password. :)
New members coming in just about daily. 17 registrations since the 11th. Great time to jump on in! :)

I'm probably on my way. I love TAW, and am proud to say it's one of the best, stable, humble, and kindly communities in CF... yet from one perspective this is a sad reality because many other forums on CF stand in stark contrast to the hospitality of TAW, and sometimes because the links visible on the way to visiting TAW I go to the other forums and seeing things there either break my heart or heat me up to an unacceptable rage.
So I'm clamming up... looking for a nice little Orthodox island on the web... and this looks like the place. =)
See you there.

Welcome CuriousityKilledThe
I hope you do enjoy our humble little site.
Some here at TAW see it as a retreat and a place to rest.
A lot of battles are fought here in TAW against demons who would destroy our souls if they could.

It is meant to be a peaceful place or retreat where we can discuss things without worrying about offending other religions.
Yet, we ask that people be kind and loving.

We should have a set time everyday to check in to Orthopraxis that way we could see each other there too!
Let's say 8:00 am, 12:00PM, and so on.... Anyone would be interested doing that? Let's say we could meet at the Dinner....

Hmm... that can be confusing we have to figure out how to do it... 8:00 am for ET is still night for west right? well we could do 12 noon so it is day everywhere.... right?

At 8:00 AM EDT in Virginia, it is 5:00 AM PDT in Los Angeles, California
So at 12:00 noon EDT in Atlanta, Georgia, it would be 9:00 AM PDT in Portland, Oregon. We would be traveling to our church at that time, but you would be having brunch.

Didn't someone have the idea to have our own coffee or social hour on OP? We would dedicate a time (within a window of an hour or two) where we could actually "socialize" in the Chat Box while catching up on the threads of the day. I think it would be great!
Philothei
15th May 2007, 02:36 PM
Sorry to take so long to respond in this thread guys.. Aria thanks for the blessings :) and happy Mother's day to all!
Yes a "social hour" but on ...which day? Sundays are not good for me...
We should propose a different days so people who work on one can choose the other at least. I can make (with my current schedule) Tuesdays, Wed, and Thursd. on 12pm ET... how about others?
Also I cannot for the life of me use the chatbox someone has to tell me how it does not accept my pass word of my name..????

In case any of you are wondering, VinceBlaze is alive and well.
He has just started a thread over in Orthopraxis on Monasticism. Please come and share your responses and loving thoughts with this caring person who has no church but is searching.
http://z8.invisionfree.com/Orthopraxis/index.php?showtopic=492
And just in case you are wondering if my post here is in violation of CF rules?
No it is not, because we at Orthopraxis have a link to CF and directly to TAW, which is located here.
http://z8.invisionfree.com/Orthopraxis/index.php?showtopic=110
We also have posted a link in the official forum of CF.

I have the same feelings as Michael still and at least I can pick what browser I use here. So fortunately we're still free to choose and I really don't need to spend any more time on the net anyways...
Absolutely nothing against anyone personally on OP, just my own feelings.

I agree with you, I need to spend less time on the net, not more. I should cut down my time on CF and if I do so it won't be to spend it on another site but to spend it doing what I SHOULD be doing.
