I'm amazed and humbled when God speaks directly to us with his Word. Here's a cool story that might encourage you!

I was sitting in my car outside a dark movie theatre waiting to pick up my family from a late movie. It was a nice theatre, but the parking lot was very dark. I was new to the community which compounded my uneasiness. There were a lot of characters in the shadows (you know what I mean) and soon people began to swarm in front of/ and behind my car. I put my foot firmly on the brake, feeling overwhelmed and nervous. I remember thinking, "I hope my foot doesn't slip off the brake. I don't want to hit anyone." I don't think I've ever worried about my foot slipping off the brake before, so it was a strange thought. When I got home that night, I opened my bible to the exact place I left off several days before-Psalm 121--and there it was: "He will not let your foot slip!" The Psalm gave me deep confort that God was protecting me in our new community! Cool, huh? I hope you'll share your "God Thing" stories here!

Several years ago, I was with my friend outside our church, and I had locked my keys inside the car. I had already had a very frustrating day, and this was the last straw for me. As my friend ran inside the church to try to find something to attempt to unlock the door, I complained to Father about how I couldn't take any other tests, and why wouldn't He help me. Almost instantly, my eyes fell on a object that was on the pavement a short distance in front of my car. My friend and I had somehow did not see it (though I don't know how---it was so obvious). It was a coat hanger that someone else had fashioned into a "slim jim" (to unlock a car door)! They had apparently had the same problem, and it was as though the Lord had them leave it there knowing I was going to come along at some future date and need it. I instantly knew in my spirit that this was His way of letting me know He loooks after me and cares for me through all my tets and trials. My friend came back, and we were both amazed at His kindness to me, and the fact we hadn't seen the coat hanger until after I had prayed! God taught me a valuable lesson that day of learning to trust Him in ALL things! :amen:
