Sometimes I find myself praying for nuclear-war. One big blast would just vaporize us all into the hands of God, without any survivors to grieve the lost. I know I probably shouldn't feel this way, but the evil in the world gets to much to handle. Does anyone else ever feel like this?

Christ did not die so that we could die. He did not die so that we could enjoy His life only after we died. He died so that we could be saved right now. We can enjoy His life in us right now while we are alive. We just have to turn to our spirit where He lives.
I pray that you will learn to enjoy Christ now. :prayer:

i have never prayed for war. Jesus tells us to pray that his will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. It is true there is great evil in the world. but this makes it all the more important to think on godly things...whatsoever is pure, of a good report, if there be any virture, if there be any praise...think on these things (i think this is in Galatians). We cannot live a victorious life with our focus on the things of this world and what the enemy is doing that is evil.

I always thought it was great that God had such patience. I may see evil but I also know it could be so terribly worse than it is right now as I sit in my warm, quiet house with indoor plumbing and my doors unlocked without fear for my safety or that of my children.

Maybe we should start praying that we can see what God sees in us and those around us. Maybe then we will understand why He is waiting.

Jesus had compassion on the "world". I find I need to continually pray for His/The Father's heart...

The Word says in Luke 19:13 'Occupy til I come', The LORD has Blessed us with talents, gifts, purpose and LIFE, it rains on the just and unjust. I believe that as we as Christians stay prayed up and in the Word, focusing on the above, and putting on our Armor (Breastplate of Rightousness to protect our emotions as well as all the pieces provided us) we will begin to see the "world" as He does and then we will be the victorious army we were intended to be.

Man dude, please don't continue to pray in this way, we all have many loved ones (and there are many others) who do not have the revelation of The Father's love yet! God is Good and Kind, it is His Goodness that leads us to repentance.

Who's to say we won't be grieving the lost? He will wipe away every tear...We must have been crying...

I have sometime prayed that God would hurry up and come back to take away the hatred and suffering in the world, but I think there are more souls yet to be won for the kingdom before he comes back.

#1. Praying for one big blast to end it all is a waste of time, my friend. The Bible makes it clear, that is not the plan of God. Now there may be a nucular war, but it won't wipe us all out.

#2. You write: "...the evil in the world gets to much to handle." Yes, it can be overwhelming, but it does not have to be that way for you. It is all about attitude. And one of the great gifts God has given you is, you get to choose what kind of attitude you have.

At the top of the bulletin I print for my Church, I have this saying by Victor Frankl. "The is one thing you can never take from me, and that is my freedom to choose how I will react to whatever you do to me."
Frankl spent several years in a Nazi concentration camp, and all of his family, save one sister was killed. His above quote came years after he was free.

There is one other that should be able to help you with his words: The Apostle Paul. He says in Philippians 4:11, "...for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances...." Read about those circumstances in 2 Corinthians 11:23-33. Now to learn how Paul "learned" to be content" by reading Philippians 4:13.

Instead of looking at the evil all the time--let the Holy Spirit show you the good in Jesus Christ.

I end every Sunday service with this: "Don't have a good week, MAKE IT a great day." I don't say "Have a...." I say MAKE IT, makes it your choice.

You can do it.

I think this is the KEY point.

We're told to do this:
Phl 4:8 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Phl/Phl004.html#8) Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.

We get discouraged & defeated when we let our minds DWELL on the darkness we see around us.
I haven't watched the news since 1 week prior to the last political elections - it was weighing me down spiritually.
I still PRAY heavily for our Pres. & leaders... but I cannot keep hearing the slanted media reports & keep my joy.

God foretold us that it would get like this and get increasingly worse... the evil we see escalating today is going to get WORSE tomorrow & the next day forward.

FOCUS ON WHAT IS GOOD, TRUE & PURE. Dont let satan steal your JOY - our joy in the Lord is our strength.

I'm just as disheartened as you are these days. But GOD is in full control and HE is orchestrating these things in HIS timing to His own glory.

John 16:33
These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world."

God bless you!

I do not like the evil of this world, but have faith. The Lord is in control of history. Remember too, the Lord is the one that will destroy this planet, so he would never allow total destruction right now. Think of eternity, it makes things now much easier.

I once had that thought (kind of), but it isn't the heart of God. He is patient and longsuffering. Jesus can minister to the evil and dying world even today, and the harvest is plentiful, the workers are few.

I encourage you to learn evangelism, you can do something to fight sin by sharing Jesus. You don't have to be offensive about it, there are many creative ways to share the Gospel. When I first started, I made oil paintings as a new christian, and put Scriptures on the back telling of God and to seek Him, and then gave these away. It is a start, something. Now I am involved in bible correspondence ministry with criminals.

one way you can kind of find creative ways, is www.wayofthemaster.com, click on the "Get Equipped" and listen the Audios, they are very encouraging to help share what others are doing with Jesus and sharing, and may give you ideas how to personally reach out and share.

Jesus is worthy. Let's keep following Him. He has the answer past death, we don't need to be thinking of death, but the answer to death-Jesus. "whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did" 1 John 2:6

God has many things for us to do and a short time to do it in.
When we feel down, we need to REFILL in His word, and then seek Him in where we can serve to promote His return.
There's lots to be done here yet - keep shining that LIGHT in the darkness.

Sometimes I feel like: Jesus please, come quickly, take me with you... I want to leave with you forever.

Because YES, theres too much evil in the world. But God is in control, he has always been in control, and he will always be... things wont get better but worse... But God will still be in control. But then...

"He who overcomes shall inherint all things, and I will be his God and he shall be my son" Rev 21:7

I understand where you are coming from, I look around the world today and it is frightening at times. It is sad when you see the great numbers of men, women and children going to bed hungry every nite. (Even in North America 1 out of every five children go to bed hungry each nite.) You look at the Statistics and 50% of marriages both in the world and the church end in divorce, even among ministers in the church. You watch the children of divorced homes struggling with their parent's selfishness and it breaks your heart. You watch the greed of the rich and the suffering of the poor. You see the cruelty of one man for another. Politicians and courts making rulings that are totally anti-scriptural. Laws that fed the bank accounts of the rich while bring hardship to the poor. You see the wars around the world. You see our young men and woman dying in an attempt to save our freedoms. The first and second World Wars where labeled as the last wars, but in spite of that not at decade as gone by since 1945 in which there has not been war some place in the world.
We see the slavery of whole nations such as the folks in China, North Korea, and Viet Nam etc. and it is enough to take the joy out of life.
Still God placed each of us in this world for a purpose. Only He can determine when our work (personally) on earth is done. We are here to fight the evil around us and spend our time attempting to win the lost and the work of the Christian is never done until the last sinner has been won or has crossed the river of death into a world where he or she has no more opportunity to excepted God's plan of salvation.
Jesus did not pray for the world to end and neither should we. After all we are not just to be believers we are to be workers endeavouring to win the lost.
