Right now, while I do not feel ready to compromise myself with any theological position, I do not agree that the two creation narrativees at Genesis nor the account of Noah should be interpreted literally.

Right now, while I do not feel ready to compromise myself with any theological position, I do not agree that the two creation narrativees at Genesis nor the account of Noah should be interpreted literally.

Jhn 1:1 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/popup.pl?book=Jhn&chapter=1&verse=1&version=kjv#1)¶In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

For correct understanding start with Jesus.

Gen 3:1 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Gen/Gen003.html#1) Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

Doubt is the first step in Satan's attack against us.

Do you believe there is a God who knows and cares for you?

Do you believe Jesus has the power over death and can lift you up with him?

The scriptures are given to us to instruct us in the only way we can be with God forever.

There are many ways to view the creation stories. Do not stumble over any of them.

With love in Christ

I believe that God does things without telling us how or when. It doesn't matter how or when he created the world. What matters is that he left us here to be stewards and we aren't doing it very well.

We've somehow come up with the idea that to "subdue the earth" means to use it up for frivolous purposes while people go hungry and in need, knowing that poverty and ignorance are twin enemies to peace and the spread of the gospel.

Does it really matter when the dinosaurs walked the face of the earth?!

I'm a literal Genesis 6 day sorta guy myself...but it's not something I've spent a great deal examining.

I am a literal 6 day creationist, and I have spent a bit of time examining it. :)

The thing is, Genesis is the basis for all of scripture. But I'll stop there; you could get a stronger reply from me in the fundy forum. ;)

I believe the creation story in Genesis, but I am not convinced that it was 6 days as we understand them. I believe that the 6 days mentioned could represent 6 periods of time unknown to man. This is just my personal thoughts, I wouldn't consider it doctrine.
