The Bible Warns We Will See Churches Corrupted
and Church Leaders No Longer Teaching Sound Doctrine
The Bible clearly warns some churches will be corrupted from within
"Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you
concerning our common salvation,
I found it necessary [compelled] to write to you
exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith
which was once for all delivered to the saints.
For certain men have crept in unnoticed, [church leaders]
who long ago were marked out for this condemnation,
ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness....
[who corrupt, ignore, modify, deny, or refuse to teach God’s word in the Bible]
But I want to remind you, though you once knew this,
that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt,
afterward destroyed those who did not believe."
(Jude 1:3-6)

Of course churches will corrupt just like everything man touches will. It is in our nature no matter how hard and far we run from sin, until we are with the Lord it will catch us sometime.

Do you think the Holy Spirit is in the church? If so, how can that be. The Holy Spirit would never allow this.

Not exactly. The Holy Spirit is in us, the believers, who make up the church. That distinction is important. We as beings of free will have the choice to listen to the leadings of the Holy Spirit or ignore them and go our own way. As Paul points out that people will (and have throughout history) come in the name of God but who are ungodly in an effort to lead believers astray. Paul faced them in his own time with Gnostism, which BTW persists to this day.

Corruption in church is nothing new Paul in almost all of his writings to the different churches about corruption in one particular church or another and I think that use to bother Paul.I sometimes sense his frustration with the church , but I gues every sheperd can loss patience with the flock. :D

Oh course the holy spirit is in churches, but not every church. i think there are churches that have strayed from God and allowed themselves to fall away from the holy spirit

Yes, especially in Corinth and with the churches in Galatia you see a lot of frustration on Paul's part. Wolves in the church are not new nor are they going away anytime soon.

Not only that, but some of the bad ones look like sheep, so it's not the leaders, it's those being led.

ivory,
I think Ephesians 4:30 says He would allow it: And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption."

Well, I don't know if that verse in Jude is about 'church leaders' directly; it's rather vague imo.
I'd like to submit another aspect of this, I'm noticing that many genuine Christians ARE noticing these false teachers & wolves AND WHEN THEY SPEAK UP, THEY GET ATTACKED FOR IT as if they're judgmental, unloving bigots.
IF people would listen to those who DO see & spot them, we'd have alot fewer problems with them invading & corrupting from the inside.
That's what's irritating me most anymore. Many of us DO see them, we're told to shut up & EMBRACE THEM as our own; after all, who are WE to judge others?
