So we've sinned. We've felt guilty. We've repented. We've been forgiven. But what is that nagging feeling? I have personally committed some sins that I cannot forgive myself for, but have found solice in God's forgiveness. The fact that I cannot forgive myself (although have somewhat come to terms with them) drives me slightly nuts sometimes. They're not forgivable sins by human standars by any means. In God's eyes, a sin is a sin is a sin. Humans attach values to them, or should I say degrees of evil. Is forgiving ourselves necessary in order to receive God's forgivness, or are we just incapable of some things?

Repentance is required for salvation. When one repents, they see their deeds through God's eyes. They ask honestly for forgiveness, and it goes without saying that what they have done will no longer be part of their life. That said,it is also true that repentance does not cancel out memory of ones former life. Still, though ones sins are as scarlet, they can be forgiven,if one truly repents.

When our own hearts condemn us, God does not. The main thing is that he forgives us, even when we cannot seem to forgive ourselves.

Time is a great healer and I think that God allows us to remember things so we try not to do them again , but isn't it wonderful that he does forgive what a blessing to have that kind of love and forgiveness. But you the one thing a lot fo religons forget that is we are humanbeing born into sin and we're going to make mistakes and falter sometimes , but that don't mean I don't love Jesus and that don't mean I'm going to stop sinning it just means I'll have to try a little hardier :)

Hi, This is were we differ. I don not want to forget, as long as I remember those bad things, I will be very careful not to enter into them again.

Conviction is from God, condemnation is from satan. God never, ever brings it up again. We don't need to live in the past, we need to live here and now for God, and when those thoughts come in, we need to remember we are seperated from our sin, as far as the east from the west.
Should we totally forget? No, because it shows what a miracle God can do with our life. But, we can not continue to dwell over it, we need to accept His forgiveness and move on.
