Try as I might, I can't find a Christian church where the people WON'T be (either) critical about some truth that is central to Christianity, in denial about the current state of science, stuck on one type of dogmatic assumption, overtolerant or intolerant of people who do not follow God's law, overly legalistic about the strangest things (like evangelicals and masturbation), militant about assertive, debasive, conversionist evangelism, ... okay I am running out of ideas.
But anyway, I think the church has so many things wrong. And yet, the people I know in the X church would say that I'm wrong just because my beliefs don't line up with the majority.
Don't get me wrong, I am a born-again Christian; I've repented of my sins and accepted Jesus into my heart. I believe that in him, I have eternal life, and that he saves me from my sins. But I just don't fit in at the X church, because I think for myself.

Sounds like you are the one who is over critical. You will never find a perfect church. All churches are ran by imperfect people and have imperfect members. I go to a church that I love...though my pastor and I may disagree on some minor issues. Ever wonder why there is so many denoms.? They all mostly follow the same major ideas but when it gets to the small things no one can seem to agree. The best advise I can give is to be non-denominational. Don't be tied down to any one list of specific denominational doctrines or beliefs. The ability to change you mind is a great strength to have.
Just because a church believes in...lets say a "young Earth" (an idea that has nothing to do with salvation)...and you don't...doesn't mean the church is any less good at poviding what it is there for...support, fellowship, and worship.

But anyway, I think the church has so many things wrong. And yet, the people I know in the Baptist church would say that I'm wrong just because my beliefs don't line up with the majority.

You mentioned specifically Baptist. Does the church you are going to settle with have to be Baptist? I wonder that because it says your a Calvinist in your theology. Perhaps a different denomination would be more acceptable to you?
No church is going to be perfect and I'm afraid that legalistic people are in all of them. That's just the way it is. People go to church for many reasons, not all of them good reasons. You can't really do anything about that. You can just control why you go yourself.

It sounds like a Christian Reformed (CRC) or Reformed Church in America (RCA) could be a good fit for you.
