This is from Jimlarmore and I thought I'd post it here. Maybe sign his guestbook after you read it.

It's an opportunity if done correctly to cleanse the body and uplift the soul.

The body goes into a very harsh cleansing activity while we are fasting, especially if done for more than two days. During this time the body removes all the bad things that accumulate in the cells and tissues over time.

There have been anecdotal testimonies of folks who have cured themselves of cancer by nothing more than juice fasting for 90-120 days. If you are curious as to what I am talking about do a google on juice fasting and read up on it. In Europe there are a number of places that are designed to supervise extended fasts for healing of terminal and stuburn diseases.

My own testmony is that in 90 days I lost 90 pounds and got rid of arthritis, acid reflux/acid indigestion, heart palpitations, high blood pressure, adult onset diabetes, under arm odor. I drank fresh carrot and green juice three times a day. I also incorporated a lot of water as well, at least 2 gallons a day. After the first week I never had any hunger at all. My energy level at least doubled. I slept very soundly and woke up refreshed and on top of that I quit snoring. ( my wife appreciated that ).

I recommend juice fasting for a week or more twice a year to allow the body to detoxify.

God Bless

That is really interesting, although the suggestion of drinking "at least 2 gallons of water per day" is a little alarming. There is something called "Water Intoxication" which can be very dangerous. You can read about it here. (http://chemistry.about.com/cs/5/f/blwaterintox.htm)

The rest of the post is fascinating though, and I think it's got some sound ideology behind it. Spiritual Fasting is a beautiful thing, and indeed has physical benefits as well. Drinking juices (both vegetable and fruit) is a good way to cleanse the system of impurities, and to ensure a steady intake of vitamins. So while I won't go so far as to recommend this, I will say that it is something I have tried myself, and it helped. :)
