Hello there my bookie brothas and sistuhs. :D Took a little respite from reading recently as classes finished up and what not, but I intend to get back into it soon, and because of that I'd like to introduce a little book I found recently. (Christmas present for my self... hehe.)

Peter Kreeft is a Catholic writer, and in his book The Philosphy of Tolkien (A Worldview) he covers Tolkien's stories, namely the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and shows how it is allegory for much of the bible and the trials that Christians (and humans in general) have faced and face today!

If anyone's read it, I'd greatly like a short review (even just a "Yes I liked it" or something of the sort). I'll post back after I read it and let you know what I think!

well I can't speak to that particular book but I can deffinetly speak to the author. Peter Kreeft is amazing!!! I live in Boston and he teaches at a college in Boston. I have heard him speak in person and I've read a few of his books. He has an amazing style, I'm sure that book is also great.

The philosophical allegory of:

The Lord Of The Rings
"left me in the dust", as they say;) . . .

Adventist don't wear Wedding bands . . . and
when the ring, was at last thrown :( into the fire, I cringed . . .

I believe in the Wedding :holy: Ring, myself . . .It is a TRADITIONAL symbol . . .

Sometimes, I wonder if the author was Roman Catholic or just catholic; as someone who is a member of the Universal Church . . .

A Wedding Band of Gold should cost less; so more couples, just starting out, could afford them:idea: . . .
