There are going to be some major changes taking place here between now and the 1st of the year.


I'll probably make the announcement sometime early next week, and then you'll see the changes will take place some time after that.


Please pray for me as I make some important decisions that the Lord would guide me in my choices.

Changes to occur Jan 2nd, 2007


1. There will no longer be teams/squads. (ie: No Support Angels, No Debate Angels, No Friendship Angels etc.)

2. The CF Angels will be open to regular posters and staff who wish to participate, up to a specific number (we'll figure this one out later).

3. I will reopen applications in January and February, and those who are current angels, and wish to stay on, may do so. They can help to train the new angels. When we figure out how many the Coordinators can manage, we'll keep it at that number. Whenever an angel quits or is removed, we'll be able to add on a new one to take their place, rather than waiting for a specific date to do so.

4. All CF Angels will get to participate in welcoming newbies, reaching out to those in need, instructing posters (teaching them the ropes, etc.), and all other angel duties. That includes Coordinators, except Coordinators will not be required to put in a specific number of hours, due to their CF staff duties.

5. Every week I will start a topic that has the dates for that week on it, and CF Coordinators will post names (with links to profiles and/or topics where the person has posted). They will post a request along with this information (ie: "Please welcome this person." "This person lost a loved one, please offer comfort." "Please teach this person how to post." "Please show this person how to PM." "Please befriend this lonely person." etc.)

6. CF Angels will check the above mentioned topics every day for people to contact. When they contact somebody, they will post the persons name, and what they did for them. Please note: If you are asked to instruct, or reach out to a poster, signing their guestbook is not good enough.

*So if the directive says to befriend them, then befriend them. (add them to your friends list. send them a PM a few times a week. give them links to your favorite topics, etc.)

*If the directive says that they lost a loved one, then offer them comfort. Signing a guestbook is nice, but by itself it is not comforting. Sign the guestbooks, but also send them a PM if they can receive them. Send them a note once or twice a week to check up on them. Offer to pray for them, etc.

*To help you with your duties, I will ask that CF Angel's keep a notepad (Start Button, All Programs, Accessories, Notepad) file of who needs more attention. So if there is somebody that will need a PM from you once a week, please write down their names, and then you'll know what you need to be doing.

7. CF Coordinators are here to assist you, but that doesn't mean that you can't go out and find people to contact on your own, Angels. If you find somebody, post their name in the weekly topic. Let us know what you've done. All CF Angel Coordinators will manage ALL angels. So if a CF Angel Coordinator asks you to do something, please do it. CF Coordinators, please change any mention of title in your profile, siggy, etc to "CF Angel Coordinator", deleting the mention of any teams.

CF Angels, please change any title you may have in your profile, siggy, etc., to "Christian Forums Angel", with the exception of the Christian Teen Angels who will keep the title "CF Teen Angel". I'd like to keep the teen titles the same, as a reminder to myself and the Coordinators, that we are dealing with a minor. It's good to have that reminder. It helps us take a more gentle approach with the younger ones. :)

11. Every month, a CF Angel will be named CF ANGEL OF THE MONTH. They'll get a special graphic to wear in their sig line, and of course will be applauded by the rest of us for their hard work. Gwenyfur, Meh, myself, and the CF Lead Coordinator will vote on who wins that title. Btw, Coordinators will also be included in that vote. ;)



12. This is the hardest one for me to post. I will be going through the list of all Coordinators, and Angels. Any that have been found to be inactive (without a really GOOD reason), will be removed.

Please remember: It is a priviledge to be a CF Angel.

The CF Angels were a new program, and I needed to try out some things before I figured out how to best manage this lovely group of posters. The Welcoming Angels continue to get better and better. We just needed to find our footing and it is being done. I know that this program that you have organized will continue to put smiles on peoples faces and encourage them.

It sounds like things are coming together and on the road to a wonderful program. I see this program being an awesome tool for helping new posters to feel welcome and finding their way around.

Unfortunately, I am not going to be able to continue as a Welcome Angel. Outreach is shorthanded at present, with 3 new mods learning the ropes, and I just do not have time to do a good job here and there. I will continue to welcome new posters as I used to and give out blessings on my own, but not as an official angel.

It has been a joy and a privilege to work with you all and I pray for continued success of the Angel program.

If I can do anything in a smaller capacity, I would love to stay involved with the welcoming angels. I'd love to assist you or Meh if either of you needs an assistant. But I just don't have the time to be a coordinator. (We discussed this via PM if you remember.)

I'm currently in training so I know that I have been lax the last few days in doing anything with Welcoming etc....I will definitely make up for that tomorrow.

As for Graphics...myself and Becka will be happy to help out as we can..I have taught her what I can..neither of us can glitter like Gwenyfur (you go girl!)

But I can get glitters done.

Let me get the training under my belt and I'll be doing much more.

Yes, you'll be free to help people all over CF now, and yes you'll be doing what the Coordinators ask you to do. So you'll be doing a combination of both things. Some CF Angels (like yourself) are free spirits, and can wander around CF easily, finding people to help. Others, really require direction and we love to help them out. Neither is better than the other, and both serve the needs of our posters. So we're pleased to have both kinds of angels here. I would like you to reach the posters, the Coordinators ask you to reach out to, and then of course, if you have time, and the desire, please also reach out to others. I think you'll do a wonderful job Ruth. :)

After reviewing the new rules beginning January 2nd...does this mean we no longer report our work for the day in our respective team posts and lol...apparently so (:))...then will there be a thread to post our efforts or do we no longer need to do this?

The graphics can say either CF Angel or CF Welcoming Angel, either one. It doesn't matter. We are both.

The Teen Angel ones need to stay the same though, you're right. :)
