Any guidlines? I need to have it done for next Sunday, and am making my own pattern.

Oh, and I'm also decorating a baptismal candle - the only directive so far is that it be "manly." Insight into what that intails would be handy as well - I was thinking of doing a band and cross with Celtic knotwork in white beeswax, but am flexible.

It's next Sunday!? CONGRATS!!

I know nothing about sewing, sorry. Maybe you could google some pictures of robes.

It is, and thank you :) I'm pretty excited.

The reason for the candle is that my good friend is also getting baptized at the same time. It's pretty funny, because we go up together for the catechumene blessing part of the Liturgy every Sunday, and then leave and hang out together, so father's son keeps being like "are you getting married?" and my friend said "to the Church!" It was so cute! ^_^

Do you kow what you want it to look like? There are patterns from things like choir robes. You could even use a basic T-Tunic pattern (just google T Tunic).

It should be simple, all white, and it's a good idea to make it out of the thickest fabric you can find (water makes white transparent!)

As for candles, there should be a good asst of Orthodox special occasion/baptismal candles online. They're white and gold and will have the Cross and usually a floral decoration on them.

Thank you - I'll go try looking some of that up
