1Cr 14:33 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/popup.pl?book=1Cr&chapter=14&verse=33&version=kjv#33)

For God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

1Cr 14:34 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/popup.pl?book=1Cr&chapter=14&verse=34&version=kjv#34)

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but [they are commanded] to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

1Cr 14:35 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/popup.pl?book=1Cr&chapter=14&verse=35&version=kjv#35)

And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

1Cr 14:36 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/popup.pl?book=1Cr&chapter=14&verse=36&version=kjv#36)

What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

1Cr 14:37 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/popup.pl?book=1Cr&chapter=14&verse=37&version=kjv#37)

If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

1Cr 14:38 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/popup.pl?book=1Cr&chapter=14&verse=38&version=kjv#38)

But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

How is this ignored

I agree that God tells us that only Men should be able to preach in the churches, but this is not to say that men are better than women. It's just something that God has ordained men to do.

We can create an analogy for this.

The Father is to Christ as the Man is to the Woman.

They are both equal, but different.

If it wasn't for the women in the church to-day, you might not have a church...Have a look around next Sunday!

Showing that the verses quoted were dealing with a local issue confronted by Paul, consider the deaconess Phoebe mentioned in Romans 16:1 "I commend unto you Pheobe our sister, which is a deaconess (servant in KJV) of the church..." There is no way she could be the husband of one wife as required in Timothy.............unless she was Lesbian!!!

Lord help us, if it weren't for the plethora of women who went to the mission field to preach the gospel and teach the word, where would missions be?

Cheers, and God bless the women,

Jim

Here is a good book John Piper wrote about the roles of women and men. He has been kind enough to make the PDF free for download.

The Father is to Christ...They are both equal, but different.

This is not the place to debate this but you are not correct here. The correct way is "The Father is to the Son...They are both equal, but different". Just a FYI :) And yes to the OP I also do not like the fact that it is ignored...I can understand why though...disobedience.

Col 2:8 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Col/Col002.html#8) Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

its a shame what we have done to gods word, we have changed it, manipulated it, forged it it some cases. The bible is Gods word, and we try to dig into something that isnt there, to accomidate our earthly tradition.
