Harvard (yeah, I know) developed this test to research the premise that many times people don't actually say what they mean. IOW, we know how we should feel about something, and may work very hard at changing our attitude to reflect that, but gut level often tells a different story. Now, the Bible tells us that when we're "in Christ, we're a new creature. Old things pass away, behold, all things become new". So, knowing this is true, shouldn't God's people prove to be the exception to the rule that Harvard claims to have established with this test series? I invite you to take any of these tests and reflect on the results. The first test I recommend is the one about black/white racial preferences. Be honest, guys, when you take this test. Have at it.:)

I've been there a few times before. I participate in a few studies here and there and I think it's a great website. It's rather revealing.

I saw this on King of the Hill before. I did better than Hank:
Your Result
Your data suggest little to no automatic preference between European American and African American.

Your data suggest a slight automatic preference for George W. Bush compared to Abraham Lincoln.

The first test I took said that I associate career slightly more with male and family with females. The second test, however, shocked me. It said I strongly favor European Americans to African Americans. :o I thought, my gosh, have I really not come as far as I had thought? It was that test result that got me to thinking that there might be something to this theory of unconscious or "hidden" prejudices and conscious or social prejudices. It also caused me to wonder if our hidden prejudices might not be set for life despite our best efforts on the conscious level. Oh well, I'm not sure what to think.:sigh:

Ha! I've been vindicated. Well, sort of. On the weapons test, I scored a slight automatic association to whites with weapons and blacks with harmless objects. Could my NRA membership be the reason?Heeheehee

Don't let it bother you, I actually was shocked to be as accepting as it says I am. I thought for sure I had some deepseeded prejudices. Everyone tells me I seem judgemental and I admit to seeing stereo types as more truth than fiction.
I bet most people have prejudices.... which is why not to many folks are responding to this thread.

I dunno. I did the black/white one and the fat/thin one. I think it has more to do with coordination and learning how to do the test than with real mental connections. I noticed that they do the one that they expect you to be prejudiced towards (white=good) last, after you've figured out how it works. Also, on the race one (wasn't so bad on the fat one) they coupled the 'questions' more on the last set. For instance, a white person followed by a good word, then bad words and black people together. IN other words, the test made it easier to show yourself prejudiced.

But, I am willing to concede there MAY be a point in it, just not as much as they think.

I wonder if people would get the same scores if they reversed the order of either the people or the pictures. It seems kinda rigged because as you get used to the test, you're going to speed up and the faster you go, the higher your probability of missing a few.

Kind of like I figured. We are all the LORD's creation.

I took the Judaism/other religions test and came out strongly or moderatly preferring Judaism to other religions, including Christianity. Go figure. Could it be because I'm currently reading the OT and draw as much inspiration from it as NT or is it my Christian Zionist leanings?
