Re 13:18Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Revelation 13:11-18

11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

13:18 This is where wisdom is needed; those who understand should count the number of the beast, for it is the number of a person, and its number is 666.

What is the significance of counting the number of something?that is a good question and I bet an insight is hidden somewhere in a better understanding of the commanded counting of the Omer.....

 nice read!

It also has to do with Shavu'ot i see. Interesting, how this lines up with the christian day of pentecost.

This has to do as a reminder of the blessings of the l-rd with the blessing of blessings to end it with a bang, the torah!

Yes the Torah was given on Shavuot, the fiftieth day and the Ruach HaKodesh was given on that same holy day after the resurrection. Shavuot means weeks, there were 7 weeks counted plus 1 and Pentecost means fifty which is the sum total of 7 weeks plus 1 day. :)

Same Holy day, not a new Christian one. :)

Second day after Pasach is First of first fruits and Shavuot, fifty days later is the second of the first fruits ( of summer whereas the other is of spring harvest)

Yeshua arose on First fruits, and the Ruach was poured out on Shavuot to those in the 'Upper chamber', which they were required to be there as it is the second of the pilgram festivals. :)

Now about that number

I was just reading this , thought you might find it interesting.

Ezekiel 8:1 And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sxth month , in the fifth day of the month......................

And the L-RD picked him up by a lock of his hair and brought him to see the 'Seat of the Image of Jeolousy'

You can go read the rest and see what you make of it, I found it interesting it was one shy of being 6/6/6

I was putting something together last night, that i had found in the old testament\tenach 666 times, and i took a break to lay down, fell asleep, and when i woke up the power had gone out to that part of the house, so i'll have to start over. OF course i didn't save it. It's a bit interesting to read i thought when its pieced together. I'll start over.

*goes to read Ezekial 8*
