I am sincerely humbled by all the overwhelming support here. I am not one to "blow my own horn" and would not have brought this up. But the confidence shown by my fellow brthers and sisters humbles me to no end. I just hope and pray that I may be a blessing and a help to my fellow Christian brothers and sisters. And I ask that you bear with me as I go through this training period. I'm only human and no doubt will make mistakes. but please bear with me, I learn real fast, especially if there is a fire under my rear. lol Honestly, thank you one and all. I hope I can be a blessing and a help, and if there is anything I can help with, please don't hesitate to ask. And just a little info about me:

My name is Dean Childers. I am 44 years old and have been married 19 years this past July. (BTW, if anyone is in the Charlotte N.C. area, in July of 2007, my wife and I will be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary with a pig-picking. Your cordually invited) I have one Son who just turned 18(going on 25 he thinks ;) ). I was raised in a Baptist church, and have been Baptist all my life. I was saved in 1972-73? And in 1974 I walked away from the Lord. I came back to the Lord in 1998. Best thing I have ever done in my Life! I have since seen my wife then my son come to the Lord. Praise God!!!! I have been the Brotherhood director in my church. Then I was elected(asked) to teach the adult Sunday school class. Talk about scared, I was 20 years younger than the next youngest member. whew! I taught the Adult Sunday school class for three years. I have been the Sunday school director. I have been the Youth director also. I was asked by my church in 2000 to serve as a deacon and in June 2000 was ordained by my church. At that time I felt the hand of God upon my life and His calling me to the ministry. So in the fall of 2000 I started attending seminary extension classes. I attended for three years and have the equavilent of an Associates Degree in Pastoral Ministry. In 2003 I was liscensed by my church to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have served for two years as the Chairman of deacons in my church. And as of 2004 was moved to the inactive list as most deacons serve three years active and three inactive to keep them from "burn-out." I continue to study the word and have tried to enter Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, but sadly, just never seems to work out so that I can. Something always comes up, sons truck broke down, my Jeep needed tires, now it's Christmas and who can afford that, and just yesterday, the microwave oven literally "blew up" so now I have to buy another one. Guess my wife will get an early Christmas present. :D Anywho, I just wanted to introduce myself and it is my honest and sincere prayer that I may be a blessing to all. May God Bless my time with you all.

Your humble servant in Him,

DeaconDean

God Bless

Till all are one.
