just what the title says :)

thought it might be a good idea to get to know each other better since we are all working together here....

ISince I became a petRESCUER a few months ago I've not really got to know the others on here....seems like everyone comes here now and then to check on their pets but there's no communication in here!

when I was on holiday during the summer people on here didn't even reply when I asked them to keep an eye on my watchlist!!!! not to talk about the troubles we are having right now figuring out where everyone has gone to.....

in my opinion for something like this to work you need to communicate - and the easiest way to do so is to talk :) even if it's just about what you like to do or not....

that's just my two cents on this :sorry:...and so I thought I'd start this thread of where we can talk about everything - not only petRESCUE issues

be blessed <><

Great post. I too would like to work in a more friendly pet forum. Not saying anyone is not friendly, but we all rush in and out never taken time to ask our co-worker is there something we could help them do or just something so simple as to ask how are you today.

I have seen all of your posts and I know each one is very special. I need people like you in my life. A friendly hello and a smile will do so much to lift our spirits sometimes.

I just happened up on the scene about middle of Oct. and saw an opening for help and I jumped on it. Knowing nothing about the things to be done here. I have depended on #22 for everything. She has been a great source for information and inspiration.

When I saw Renuka over in the suggestion forum yelling for help and would not leave until she got it, I was saying to myself, Yea! You go girl, hang in there and she got the attention she was needing for help with the pets.

I am here with nothing but plenty of time and will be eager to help any or all that need help. I am a grandmother and know all about taking care of little ones so if any of you need help or just a shoulder I am here.

You have been an angel for me. I have learned all I know from you. You are a great leader.

Maybe others will check in and let us meet them. I know we have several that have put their name on the list so maybe we can get them to tell us about themselves.

Hi Kittystrawberry, Nice to meet you. How long have you been a pet worker? Is there anything you would like to tell us about yourself. We are trying to get to know each other better so we can have a friendship and fellowship as well as a working relationship. I have posted about myself somewhere lol but if you want to know anything about me, I will be glad to answer. bfly

Hi Bfly!
I think it is cool that you are a grandmother. I have no children or grandchildren. But of course I wouldn't be able to have one until I am married. I have been a pet rescuer for 11 months. I am very quiet and withdrawal, even in real life. I would really love to get to know you.

Hi sweety, I would just love to get to know you better also. I live out in the country down here in Alabama. I have chickens, dogs and cats galore. I have always been a stay at home person. Always had a yard full of kids playing at my house. I am right at home with kids and animals. I guess we have had about every kind of animal you can think of and many of them stray that had been abandoned.

Yes, I had thought you were sorta quite. Do you go to school? You have been working with the pet a long time. You must know how to do everything with them. CfPr#22 has helped me learn what I know. I have not met many of the ones that work with the pets. How often do you check in with the pets?

CFpetRESCUER20
26th November 2006, 01:16 AM
My extended family made me attend school this fall. I am working toward my bacholar degree in science.

The only thing I haven't yet gotten around to is to adopt a pet at the end of the month. I have no memory as to if I ever adopt a pet or not. I tried to check in around my schooling. Sometime I check in everyday, every other day or every three days.

Good moring Ainuhina
Well I can see I am out of my class with you two. Science just was not my favorite subject.
I guess God had other plans for me. He bless me with a dear loving husband and two great kids and now with 3 grandkids.

I had to disect a frog in biology and thought I would die. lol Not a pretty sight. Guess I better start making pet rounds. Hope you have a great day. bfly

good morning

:) that's great...God has a plan for each of us :amen:

what was your fav. subject back in school?

CFpetRESCUER20
27th November 2006, 10:47 PM
My favorite subject is Math. I was pretty rotten when holding up a dead frog because I used to hold it right in my bestfriend's face.

I read the other thread. REminder: If we want to save pets, we have to put our in day care for a time and then adopt another pet to put in daycare. And when our pet is return to us after day care, the other will be return to the adoption center because we can only have one pet at a time in our profile. And we will already have one pet showing in our profile, which make no room for the other pets to fit in.

It look like we are going to have to pick up more pets to take care of
until Dr. CF come back. It look like we are going to have to assign active cfpetrescuers more pets until DR. CF come back.
People with odd number in username get odd pet number
People with even number in username (such as me) be given even pet number to take care of.

I hope the senior pet rescuers will come up with something.

Wow you really held a frog in your best friend's face. And you are shy. You done a bad thing. What would you do to your not so good friend? oooo

Yes I think we will have to look after more pets until we can get help. Just have to check on them as they come I guess. I have cliked on close to 200 today but most of them were doing alright. What I am doing is going ahead and trying to get them to 50% hunger or less and play with them and then I want have to check on them for 2-3 days and they will be alright.

I'm a little worried we may be moving toward being even less chatty than we were a few months ago. The more organized we are, the less we need to communicate.

Now, we can't see the pet rescue forum from our regular accounts, and it's not as easy to just drop in and see what's up and if there are new threads.

I'm ravenscape, and I joined CF almost 2 years ago (December 19, 2004 -- I'm coming up on my second anniversary :D -- I never dreamed I'd find so much to enjoy at CF when I first joined).

I mostly hang out in the armory forums these days, though I still visit the discussion and debate area where I first began posting. I try to keep an eye out for new members, especially non-Christian members and help them feel welcome. A lot of non-Christians don't even drop by the say hello/introductions forum when they join -- they head straight to the debate areas. So, some kind of fall through the cracks sometimes, and don't feel an immediate connection to the community. They may not even know who to ask about some of the CF features they see in the posts.

I was lucky not to fall through the cracks due to some very sweet CFers who made me feel quite welcome. So, I try and pay it forward.

I joined the armory design team at the start of the huge redesign of Summer 2005, when we introduced the characters, and I've been pixilating ever since. I've met so many CFers as a result of being on the armory design team, people I might not have gotten to know otherwise.

I think that's one of the potential benefits of joining the CF Pet Rescuers. We get a chance to interact with people who may hang out in parts of CF that we don't often visit. It's a good job for people who are relatively new to CF, but who've been around long enough to figure out the ropes.

good morning

:) that's great...God has a plan for each of us :amen:

what was your fav. subject back in school?

So many subjects, so little time! Basically, I loved all subjects except math. When I went to college, I overcame my math phobia and went on to major in computer science.

My first love, the very first classroom subject that set my brain on fire was a poetry unit we did in 3rd Grade. I spent the rest of the year writing poetry every spare minute.

In 4th grade I transferred to a school in a different state. We did a poetry unit in that class, and I wound up in school trouble for the first time. I used everything I'd learned about rhyme, meter and alliteration when it was time to the students to write their own poems. The teacher was certain I'd copied it from somewhere and gave me a failing grade.

My mom came to the rescue. She brought in a box full of pages with the poems I'd been writing since 3rd grade. The teacher reluctantly changed my grade. I don't think she ever really believed I wrote the poem myself. :holy:

CFpetRESCUER20

Bfly, that was in middle school. I could never hold a frog in the face of my enemies. I am now in college so I wouldn't do those stuff again.

You check 200 pets in a day? I couldn't do that much.

cffosterAngel6
29th November 2006, 01:44 AM
Hi Kittystrawberry, I saw you on and tried to get down here to say hello but as usual I got started doing something and never got back.

You can check 200 pets aday. Most of the was just clicked on them and went on to the next ones. If I had to care for that many it would kill me and I don't think I would hardly get 50 taken care of.

I bet you would hold a dead frog in someones face now. You have to be careful of those shy girls, they will get you when you are not looking. heheheheh

Hi Raven, sorry I didn't see your message yesterday. I agree with
ainuhina the armory is what captured my heart. I thought all those character were the neatest things I had ever seen. Just couldn't wait to get me one of them. I know many people by their character and now so many have started changing pretty often and It is like I am meeting new people again. You are using the talents you have been gifted with very well. It will be lots of fun when we get the graphic for the pets going. Ainuhina had mentioned she would like to work with that also and I know she will be geat. She has a precious home page so I know she has an eye for such things.

I have several pets I wanted to check on so I better get busy as I have to fix the links. Maybe I will see you tomorrow.

 Hi
Thought I'd introduce myself a little  I'm registered disabled and am currently housebound so CF is a ral lifeline for me for the chance to meet people and to fellowship with other Christians. I think I'm just about to come upto my one year anniversary of joining the site (have to go check :)) and have had a blast so far. Originally I was never gonna be a SS but then I found the armoury  and I knew I was going to need more blessings to support my new hobby :)

I wasn't well a few months back and wasn't able to come onto CF as often as I'd liked to have. But now I'm a little better and am trying to get on at least once a day. This is where helping the pets I thought would also help me, it'll give me a chance to meet new people I wouldn't normally chat to, give me a reason to get up so I could go online and also importantly help the pets
Other facts about me: I have a brother who is now married to an American woman and living in the US, I have a RL border Collie called Buddy and my favourite subject at school was History.

Looking forward to chatting to you all
Godbless

p.s. I'm addicted to the smilies

Thank you cfpr22, we had a great Christmas. Ready to move on to New Years. New Years is special at our house. Hubby and got married on the 31 Dec. so we always celebrate New Years as our day and I cook all the good sould food, and he watches all the Fball games. Let start us a list of what we have on NYDay for dinner. We always have the blackeye peas, slaw, Turnips greens or collards, ususally have some kind of pork, ham or pork chops, sweet potatoes, corn bread and lettuce and tomatoe salad and fruit salad. That is what our New Years always start with. We usuall start eating early cause we skip breakfast and everyone gets their favorite place in front of the tv and then half of them fall asleep and some of them stay awake and watch those football games. This is the most tradional thing we do at my house. I think this will be our 44th aniversary and everyone has been spent this way. The crowds started out with just hubby and me and 5 years latter we had our daughter and then our son and now we have son and daughter in law and 3 beautiful grandskids so we are still doing the same thing we started 44 years ago and enjoying and praising God for it all. Let us hear about your tradition.

I think some of you know that a couple of people had problems with their accounts. Two that i know had pets and right now is not able to be with them. One is RuthD akaRuth~ and SweetBella.I was wondering is there anything we can do to get those pets back to them???I know Ruth is very attached to jack...she had named him after her dad who has passed away. She has pmd Erwin about it and has not heard a reply yet.He has been able to reinburse her some of the other items to her new account.I know some people think these pets are virtual but they do have meanings to alot of people??Any feedback?I know to put them up for adoption the owner has to do it but she cannot access him through the old account.

Okay time for me to introduce myself. I'm Rebecca and I live in Queensland, Australia. I live with my parents who and our 3.5 cats (3.5 because our friends next door are also part owners of one of the cats). As well as our cats, I have 5 "adopted/surrogate" pets - 2 dogs (they're in my profile pic) and 3 cats - who belong to our friends next door. I call them my adopted pets because whenever our friends go away, I get to look after the animals. When I joined CF in September 2005 I think I spent most time in BE then started spending time in Deeper Fellowship in the thread also named Deeper Fellowship. I've been a Pet Rescuer since January 12.

Anyway that's me

HI Everyone!!

I have just joined being a pet worker and so far I love it even though I haven't had the opportunity to look after any cos they are so well looked after Thank God!

Well to get to know me: I am a 26 year old Catholic Charismatic who loves Jesus and adores animals! I have a pet dog myself called Skipper in the real world... He is 6 since Christmas and he's a golden labrador and just the most adorable softie u could meet... I also have a cat called Fluffy who is about 5, she's a tabby. She used to belong to our next door neighbours who bought her about 4 years ago when she was a kitten for their 12 year old daughter whom the novelty wore away so they stopped looking after her so we started caring for her and she bonded very well with our dog (they just love each other!!), then the next door neighbours moved house and abandoned the cat altogether so now she is "officially" ours!!
I have a puppy called Skipper on this too and I love cats, dogs, horses (I love horse-riding!), rabbits, birds, guinea pigs, hamsters and most animals except im scared of spiders and I dont like insects in general...

I also love children... I have 3 nephews age 13 years, 28 months and 8 weeks (all my sis's kids) and they are just adorable!

God bless u all,
Look forward to chatting and working with you all,

Lorna

 I always wanted a kitty myself - but my mum's allrergic :( so the most I got was a mouse ^_^

CF's spiders are nothing to be afraid of - you'll soon find that out for sure....they won't harm you and they don't even look scary - at least to me ;) but then I'm not afraid of them since I had my own room in the cellar for about 4 years...and there are lots of spiders there :)

This is a hard conversation for me to join in. I pray God will truly give Ainuhina the desires of her heart. I know she will continue to make friends around the world and her work will bring her joy unspeakable but her absents
here will be present far too much and too long. I know God will use her in so many ways and that is what I will dwell on as she makes this move she has been preparing for all her life. The 16th is coming fast.

Oh thank you for the kitty. Alwasy did have cats but put the last one to sleep about 1yr. ago and decided no more new pets, trying to down size. Getting to that age when it might be best not to get new ones, just be super happy with my two little dogs. Might use that pic for avatar(now need to find someone to do it for me)When ever I try to do avatar I use soooooo many blessings cause I never do it right.
