Well I moved. I absolutely love where I live now. As the local saying goes, "Lawrence, 27 square miles of reality surrounded by Kansas." Unfortunately, I still haven't found a church home yet. Been looking around. Love the two episcopal churches, but they don't quite seem to fit my needs. Looked at a Methodist Church where I could live in exile, but its far too low for my tastes. Why can't people understand being both Evangelical AND Catholic???

Anyways, its been awhile since I've been around. I see a lot of familiar faces, and I hope you all are well!

It is nice to have you back again!

What do you mean when you say "Love the two episcopal churches, but they don't quite seem to fit my needs".
What did you love about them? And how is it that they don't fit?

Friend Joe,

Welcome back!

Karen:

I love the one for its evangelical emphasis, but don't like its EXTREMELY conservative positions.

I love the High Church one, its closest to fitting my needs, but frankly it seems when I go there that the only difference between it and the SSPX churches I used to attend is the fact its in English.

I can't seem to find a Church that is at least moderate, and is both Evangelical and Catholic.

that and they seem to have the baffling custom there of everyone intincting their own host. (Glen pick yourself up off the floor). And they don't even use stoles at the Evangelical church.

My parish is conservative theologically, liberal socially, and evangelical in evangelism.

that is more along the lines of what I am looking for Glen.

As Christ would have his church be. :)

I'm personally more moderate (or as I say it, Catholic which is neither conservative or liberal) in theology, but otherwise sounds great.

Unfortunately too much sun here in KS makes everyone crazy, and people venture to one extreme or the other.

Of course I wish I could just pack up home parish and bring it with me, but that isn't exactly practical.

Meanwhile, I have decided to send my tithes to my old home parish until I find a new church home. Is this wise or should I do elsewise? thoughts please everyone...
