Filipinista Bishop Alberto Ramento, an outspoken critic of the Philippine government, was found murdered last month. This didn't get much coverage in the US, and I only just came across this today.

I read someplace that true freedom of speech means that I can call up my local sheriff, insult him, and not be murdered in my sleep. Guess they don't quite have that in the Philippines.

This is very sad, masuwerte. Bishop Ramento is now with God, but the people of the Philippines still live under an unjust regime. My heart goes out to them and to those who will be keeping up the fight for justice and freedom. :prayer:
