I guess my question is simple enough: when was Yeshua born? Was His birth during the Feast of Tabernacles?

I think you answered your own question.

All signs point to "Go" in the Scriptures for a Tabernacles birth, especially "And he tabernacled with us" when referring to his coming... and the place where his mother laid him "Manger" being the table kept in the sukkah for eating, and off the ground...

The tradition at the time was for the women to not tabernacle, but to rather be in the hotels (due to issues of ritual purity, or impending births, or ease of life within it rather than being cold outside)... but the commandment was for "all of israel" to tabernacle.

There was no room in the inn, so Miriam and Yosef *had to* celebrate sukkot as it should be. Day 8 comes and it's Simchat Torah, and Y'shua is lifted up at his Brit Milah (Circumcision)...

There is a definate timeline to show that Y'shua was born during Sukkot.

One of the things that I look to as very precious is that he was circumcised on Simchat Torah. The day we celebrate G-d giving his word to us. And this was the day we "returned" G-d's word to him and dedicated it to him to be blessed.

As already stated - there is a lot of evidence that Yeshua was born at Sukkot. But of course we can't be sure.

We do know that scripture tells us that he was "about 30 years of age" when he started his ministry. And we know that prophetically that ministry was to last 3 1/2 years. Since we know for certain when he died - when you count back six months from there you end up at Sukkot.

Well one thing we can all be sure of is that no matter when Y'shua was born that shortly afterward Santa came by with his 8 tiny riendeer and brought him gifts along with the 3 wise men from the east and they were all there in the manger surrounded by various form of domestic cattle and Frosty the snow man sang a cheerful song to welcome him.;

And then the space ships landed....................................................

What the heck makes as much sense as anything else the world feeds our kids doesn't it?

So as we prepare to light the menorah in preperation to open our Chanukah gifts let us never forget that we do not need to belong to a traditional western church to really capture the true meaning of the season which falls between Thanksgiving and New Years day (Roman Calendar)

So shop early and often remember to keep a careful accounting of all that is recieved for fear that you may not give equal to what you got.

As for me and my house we will celebrate a truely IMPORTANT birthday in Late December

Yes a single birth of a man who lived near Bethlehem and has had a significant impact on all those who met him

ME (Hey I live close to Bethlehem PA)

Other than that I really don't know any other birthdays I celebrate in December -- ooh wait there is that other one
My sister.

Shalom Alecheim

Great posts.....Does anyone have a Current link for Greg Killian?
I noticed and read the site by Stone and tried to find some early Messianic Movement Writers/Sages Web sites I used to know and (smile) I seem to see quite a few are gone......LOL.

Thanks

Alecheim Shalom
