We need to always remember that God needs us Filled each day when we go out to help those in his word.
I hope no one minds, I'l like to start each day with a devotion or inspiration or short prayer.
Good Morning friends!
:tutu: :amen:

Today, when I awoke, I suddenly realized that this
is the best day of my life, ever.

There were times I wondered if I would make it to today;
but I did! And because I did I'm going to celebrate.
To celebrate what an unbelievable life I have had so far;
the accomplishments, the blessings, and, yes, even the hardships
because they have served to make me stronger.

I will go through this day with my head held high and a happy heart
and I will marvel at the morning dew, the sun. the clouds, the flowers, trees and birds.

Today none of these things will escape my notice. Today, I will share
my excitement for life with other people. I will make someone
smile. I will go out of my way to perform an unexpected act of
kindness for someone I don't even know.

Today is the day I quit worrying about what I don't have and start being greatfull for all the wonderful things I do have.

Paul said that he didn't waste his time thinking about or participating in things that kept him from achieving his goals and fulfilling his destiny. That's the attitude of victory you need to have in your daily life! God wants to help you make good decisions every day. He predestined you and all believers for greatness and for a life filled with victory. God wants you to experience His presence and His power in your life as He prepares you for a lifetime of wise decision-making. Have the positive attitude of Paul. Don't be bothered by insignificant things of life, rise above and see the spiritual greatness that is your destiny in Christ!

A Prayer for Today
God, we are grateful that You have destined us for greatness! Thank You for giving us godly goals and aspirations. Please give us strength to seek Your greatness.
In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Our Many Blessings

When we count our many blessings

It isn't hard to see,

That life's most valued treasures

Are the treasures that are free.

For it isn't what we own or buy

That signifies our wealth,

It's the special gifts that have no price

Our family, friends, and health.

May Your Blessings Be Many!

People who experience the joy, blessings and favor of the Lord are different in one key area: they put the most important things in life at the top of their list where they belong. If you want to experience God's best in your life, stay focused on Him and on the things that truly matter. The Bible says to first aim at and then strive after God's kingdom and righteousness—which simply means to do things God's way.

To reach your full potential and be everything God intends you to be, make sure His priorities are your priorities. Doing this will help you make wise use of your time and help you to experience God's best.

A Prayer for Today
God, thank You for explaining in Your Word what is really important in life. Help us to get our priorities in life in the right order, and then keep the most important things first. We claim Your power and wisdom today as we seek to make You and Your kingdom the focus of our day.

In Jesus' name. Amen.

GOD’S CIRCLE

His cross was not of golden hue
but simply made of wood
He fell along that earthly path
but did the best He could.

For even in His stumbling
He found courage to go on
And when they nailed Him to that cross
He suffered for our wrongs.

So let thy heart be lifted
for He died upon that cross
To heal us in our suffering
and find us when we’re lost.

Let His strength be always with you
in everything you do
And His love will be a circle
to guide your whole life through.

Your faith and outlook on life will have you see a
glass
half full or half empty. When you're in a tunnel ---
your
faith and outlook on life will either focus on the
darkness or focus on the light at the end of the
tunnel.

You may feel like you?re in a tunnel of darkness
because
of your finances, job, business slump, relationships,
health or grief. You
may not see right now how you?re going to get
through this tunnel of despair. Trust God. Life is
good in spite of your circumstances. Start giving
thanks in advance for the blessings you have now
and for those yet to come. A new day is coming for
you. A new season is coming. New opportunities are
coming to you.

Be encouraged and endure the
tunnel experience knowing this, too, shall pass. Stay
on track believing you will be carried and that there is
a light at the end of this tunnel." ~ Jewel Diamond

"When a train goes through a tunnel and it gets dark,
you don't throw

"I will lead the blind by ways they have not known,
along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the
darkness into light before them and make the rough

Hope
If you can look at the sunset and smile,
then you still have hope.
If you can find beauty in the colors of a small flower,
then you still have hope.

If you can find pleasure in the movement of a butterfly,
then you still have hope.

If the smile of a child can still warm your heart,
then you still have hope.

If you can see the good in other people,
then you still have hope.

If the rain breaking on a roof top can still lull you to
sleep, then you still have hope.

If the sight of a rainbow still makes you stop and stare in wonder, then you still have hope.

If the soft fur of a favored pet still feels pleasant under your fingertips, then you still have hope.

If you meet new people with a trace of excitement and
optimism, then you still have hope.

If you give people the benefit of a doubt,
then you still have hope.

If you still offer your hand in friendship to others that
have touched your life, then you still have hope.

If receiving an unexpected card or letter still brings a
pleasant surprise, then you still have hope.

If the suffering of others still fills you with pain and
frustration, then you still have hope.

If you refuse to let a friendship die, or accept that it
must end, then you still have hope.

If you look forward to a time or place of quiet and
reflection, then you still have hope.

If you still buy the ornaments, put up the Christmas tree or cook the turkey, then you still have hope.

If you still watch love stories or want the endings to be
happy, then you still have hope.

If you can look to the past and smile, then you still have hope.

If, when faced with the bad, when told everything is futile, you can still look up and end the conversation with the phrase... "yeah... BUT..." then you still have hope.

Hope is such a marvelous thing. It bends, it twists, it
sometimes hides, but rarely does it break.

It sustains us when nothing else can.

It gives us reason to continue and courage to move ahead,
when we tell ourselves we'd rather give in.

Hope puts a smile on our face when the heart cannot manage.

Hope puts our feet on the path when our eyes cannot see it.

Hope moves us to act when our souls are confused of the
direction.

Hope is a wonderful thing, something to be cherished and nurtured, and something that will refresh us in return. And it can be found in each of us, and it can bring light into the darkest of places.

Never lose hope.

I have a nice hot fresh pot of coffee on, donuts, biscotti and an assortment of muffins over there on the table...careful not to step on each others wings :-)

Here are some "thoughts for the day"

Good Morning Everyone,

How many of you out there put things off you
should be doing, and waste a lot of time with useless
tasks that really accomplish little? Would you raise your
hands? I bet most of you would agree.

There are so many things we should be doing
as time is passing. We often miss the forest for
looking at the trees. We don't see the big pictures.

We don't enjoy the people who are around us
because we are missing the ones who are not.

We don't enjoy what we do have because we want
what we don't.

We don't capture the glory and joy of the new day
because we are still living in yesterday.

Is this not a constant battle for you? It is for me.
I have to remind myself daily.. life moves on.
What I have within my hands is my blessing, and my task.

Make it count. Life is not a dress rehearsal.
We only get so many chances to heal relationships
to mend fences, to forgive others,
to love people, and do good deeds for them.
To cook nourishing meals for our family or play
games with our children. They grow up quickly
and soon they won't ask you anymore to play those
games, they will be too busy.

Seize the day.. make it shine. It is what is within
your grasp. Look around you, count your blessings,
and do things that are worthwhile.

It is far better to give than to receive.

ps.. take time to notice the needs of others, see if
there is something you can do to make someone's burdens
lighter. God will return this to you ten fold. He wants
us to have a servants heart. It isn't about us folks,
it is about what we can do to make our corner of the
world a better place because we are in it!

"The Deeds Undone"

It isn't the thing you do, friend, it's the thing you leave undone,
Which gives you the bitter heartache, at the setting of the sun:
The tender words unspoken, to letter you did not write,
The flowers you might have sent, are your haunting ghosts at night.

The stone you might have lifted, out of a dear friend's way,
The bit of heartsome counsel you were hurried too much to say:
****************************

I have often felt that many things that bring us to our knees,
teach us while we are down there to learn to pray.

These possibilities are open to everyone.
Don't tell God you are not good enough, do what He asks.
Don't tell God to send someone else, He asked you.
Don't tell God you don't have time to pray, He said seek me first.
Don't neglect the things of God. He said we are to
pick up His cross daily and follow Him.
Don't tell God anything is bigger than His ability.
God is the Great I Am, I am whatever you need.

There is no pit so deep, God's love is not deeper still.

Not my will but thine oh Lord.

The loving touch of a helping hand, the gentle and winsome tone,
That you had no time or thought for, with troubles enough of your own.

These little acts of kindness, so easily out of mind,
These chances to be angels, which even mortals find.
They come in night and silence, each chill reproachful wraith,
When hope is faint and flagging, and a blight has dropped on faith.

For life is all too short, friend, and sorrow is all to great,
To suffer our slow compassion, that tarries until too late.
So, it's not the things you do, it's the deeds you leave undone,
Which gives you a bitter heartache, at the setting of the sun.

I'm sending you loving Angel wishes,
for beautiful blessings to come your way.
And for you to have peace and tranquility,
as you travel through your life each day.
May all of your days be filled with love;
your nights to be filled with wonderful dreams.
And may hope and faith be your strength,
no matter how impossible something seems.
I wish for you happiness and laughter,
and for good health to always be with you.
May you find your wealth in the gifts of love,
yet, enough money to see your way through.
These Angels wishes I am sending to you,
are because you are so very special to me.
They come to you filled with God's love,
for your life to be everything you wish it to be.

If God simply delivered you from every hard circumstance, and never made you grow and move forward, you would never learn to trust Him completely. Life is not always fun because it's not enjoyable to lose the "training wheels" and step out and grow in faith. But God says that He will always be with us. We just can't see the whole picture like He can. God often works behind the scenes in hard times to prepare you, train you, teach you patience, and develop your character. If you learn how to hang on through the difficult times, you'll get to see His good plan for you. Sometimes you just have to step out and receive what He has for you.

A Prayer for Today
God, thank You for making us strong through adversity. We also thank You that because You are faithful to us, we can be faithful to You. Give us Your wisdom to make right decisions today and the strength to stand strong in all circumstances. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Expressions Of Gratitude

For the rise and set of the sun each day... I am thankful.

For the bounty and beauty of mother earth... I am thankful.

For the home where the heart of my family resides... I am thankful.

For the enduring devotion of steadfast friendships... I am thankful.

For the pleasure of unrestricted laughter and silly moments... I am thankful.

For the numerous shoulders that share the weight of my sorrows... I am thankful.

For the pages of memories in my book of time... I am thankful.

For all I have and all I am able to give... I am thankful.

For a quiet moment at the break of day to renew my spirit, to pause and say:

I am grateful for the abundance of blessings in my life.

I am thankful

It has been written that an optimist is someone who can fall ten stories and call out to each floor in passing that everything is okay so far. It has also been said that an optimist is someone who refuses to see things as they really are.

It is far better, the pessimist believes, to look for the worst so as to be pleasantly surprised when things are better than expected. Then, if they are as bad as imagined, the disappointment won't be quite so great.

But this is somewhat like backing into a room so to avoid seeing the beauty of it, only to find it is an elevator shaft.

There can be no advancement where we expect the worst and believe that going outside the limits of ordinary thinking is only day dreaming. Thinkers, capable of forecasting and predicting answers before the questions arise, are in great demand.

Only the optimist can fill the bill. Only the optimist can dare to believe there are things waiting for discovery and further development. An optimist questions life the same as a pessimist - the difference is that the optimist knows there is an answer and that the answer can be found. Optimists are aware that the cherries of life have pits, but they are prepared to remove them. Their minds do not dwell on pits, but on the sweetness of the cherries.
There will be situations that will make us afraid. Fear is a common sense emotion that keeps us from walking in front of a moving car or from jumping off the deep end of anything. And there are periods of natural anxiety when we want too much to perform well, and the butterflies begin to flutter.
Then, there is another kind of fear that is unnatural. It has the ability to possess us and rule over our very lives. It is that "what if" fear that builds nests in our minds and hatches dire images that scare the daylights out of us. It can keep the lights off, the doors bolted, and the windows of our souls firmly locked against the most beautiful things in life.
It is no disgrace in this day to ask for professional help in understanding our fears. Only the very foolish would consider this help a crutch. It is a brave person who admits the need for help and has the courage to go and find it.

For those who don't read at any of my threads in the other areas..This is what my days have been like...and I'm asking for prayer if you read this cut and paste....

Good Morning everyone... First...please please forgive me for being so grouchy this past week.. I have a very hard time with this "not allowed to do anything" stuff. And the list of not allowed sees to grow daily as I try to do something trivial and realize that I'm either reaching/stretching to far, or finding out that after surgery things are heavier than they see.

I'm not the type to stay in bed and let someone wait on me. Even little things like the fact that I'm on a sofabed during the day and if I put in a movie I have to sit up stretch my arm up and aim the remote down to start/stop/pause it..and I am not suppose to be doing that..not to mention that 1/2 the time when I was doing it anyway my reach wasn't high enough.

I also have found out that taking meds for pain means you have to keep it up even when it doesn;t hurt, so that an hour later you're not crying in pain from doing an automatic action done daily without thinking about it... I am shocked at how many little things are tied into using muscles and nerves that run to the chest...inlcuding trying something as simple as blowdrying your hair for church...or even brushing it!
Not to mention that when the nerve endings are growing back together (or whatever they're doing) you get a type of feeling like a small electrical shock/buzz type feeling and you either jump a tad or go woooh.

Anyway..I've been irratable and grouchy and have been trying to avoid even posting replies for fear of my "tone".
So please forgive me if anything I've said/done has seemed off kilter for me...and please let this be an in advance apology as well between now and the 21st of December when I'm able to be released medically to LIVE again.
Love and hugs (gentle ones),
Tammy.

PS Mods..I am cut and pasting this into the areas I frequent daily and am hoping it's not considered spam...it's much easier than typing it again and changing a few words to make it different. Thanks in advance.
In Christ's Love,
Tammy

Prayer Requests
____________________
Hi All, I come to you to ask you to add some things to your prayer lists..I'll give updates when they come in.

1. My daughter's marriage is having a lot of strife, while they've been together on and off for 9 years, they've been married for a year 1/2 and he still acts single when it comes to going out with his friends..leaving her to not only work full time, but coming home to take care of the home, him and my 2 grandsons...she's feeling single and has said she doesn't feel the "spark" anymore (I had to give her the mother daughter talk about the honeymoon stage does end...especially after 9 years). I think they are still young and that with prayer things will change and heal.

2. This one is really affecting me badly, my dear friend from church went into the hospital on Wednesday with stomach problems that had been bothering her for days..she ended up in surgery where they removed almost her entire pancreas, it was filled with cancer...they had to leave a part. And on Monday she had to enter another hospital further away for 2 weeks of radiation treatment... My friends, she's only 41, her two older children know, and the oldest is home from the Air Force on leave...he's 19, her daughter is 15... her 8 year old son doesn;t know, they don;t know how to tell him yet so they're waiting..especially before Christmas.
People with this don't live long, but we know God is still in the Miracle Business!! Her name is Lynn Price...and for those who remember my asking for prayer for Lamar Price a few months back..he'd gone to have surgery to remove Cancer from liver and they found one kidney had it as well and had to be removed... Lynn is his daughter. They're the kidest warmest family of God I've ever met..and they're being attacked this year with health issues by Satan so badly...they need a hedge around the of protecting angels from God

3.Last and least... just for my healing to maybe be speeded up, but definitely for less pain. I do NOT like taking pain meds and sleeping all the time.

Thank you my friends
Love and hugs
Tammy

THREE STRINGS

On Nov. 18, 1995, Itzhak Perlman, the violinist, came on stage to give a concert at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City. If you have ever been to a Perlman concert, you know that getting on stage is no small achievement for him. He was stricken with polio as a child, and so he has braces on both legs and walks with the aid of two crutches.
To see him walk across the stage one step at a time, painfully and slowly, is an unforgettable sight. He walks painfully, yet majestically, until he reaches his chair. Then he sits down, slowly, puts his crutches on the floor, undoes the clasps on his legs, tucks one foot back and extends the other foot forward. Then he bends down and picks up the violin, puts it under his chin, nods to the conductor and proceeds to play.
By now, the audience is used to this ritual. They sit quietly while he makes his way across the stage to his chair. They remain reverently silent while he undoes the clasps on his legs. They wait until he is ready to play.

But this time, something went wrong. Just as he finished the first few bars, one of the strings on his violin broke. You could hear it snap -- it went off like gunfire across the room. There was no mistaking what that sound meant. There was no mistaking what he had to do.

People who were there that night thought to themselves: "We figured that he would have to get up, put on the clasps again, pick up the crutches and limp his way off stage -- to either find another violin or else find another string for this one."

But he didn't. Instead, he waited a moment, closed his eyes and then signaled the conductor to begin again. The orchestra began, and he played from where he had left off. And he played with such passion and such power and such purity as they had never heard before. Of course, anyone knows that it is impossible to play a symphonic work with just three strings. I know that, and you know that, but that night Itzhak Perlman refused to know that.

You could see him modulating, changing, recomposing the piece in his head. At one point, it sounded like he was de-tuning the strings to get new sounds from them that they had never made before.

When he finished, there was an awesome silence in the room. And then people rose and cheered. There was an extraordinary outburst of applause from every corner of the auditorium. We were all on our feet, screaming and cheering, doing everything we could to show how much we appreciated what he had done.

He smiled, wiped the sweat from his brow, raised his bow to quiet us, and then he said, not boastfully, but in a quiet, pensive, reverent tone, "You know, sometimes it is the artist's task to find out how much music you can still make with what you have left."
What a powerful line that is. It has stayed in my mind ever since I heard it. And who knows? Perhaps that is the [way] of life - not just for artists, but for all of us.

So, perhaps our task in this shaky, fast-changing, bewildering world in which we live is to make music, at first with all that we have, and then, when that is no longer possible, to make music with what we have left.

This little prayer has been laid on my heart and I need to share it.

Father, we come here today with no petitions, no pleads, no requests at all. We come simply, humbly and quietly only to say Thanks. Thanks for all the good You have done for us and those we care about. Thanks for answered and unanswered prayers. Thanks for the healings and even the suffering when it furthers Your kingdom. Thank You Lord for loving us through it all. Thank you for Your life given, thank You for gentle guidance. Thank You Lord for life. Today, tomorrow and forever, let me stop daily only to breathe the words "Thank You Lord!" Amen

When God Puts You On Hold

"Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit." Zechariah 4:6

Somebody has said that patience is the quality you admire in the driver behind, but not the guy in front! God is a God of order; He ordains specific times for bringing specific purposes to pass. And it doesn't pay to get ahead of Him. Certain things can't be accomplished "by might, nor… power." So how are they accomplished? "By My Spirit." David said, "My times are in Your hands" (Psalm 31:15 NIV). David understood that others can't short circuit God's plan for you. Once you're able to acknowledge that, you find peace - and stop trying to "make things happen." When God drops a seed into your life it needs time to take root and grow. And you don't have to be concerned with the outcome because when it's planted in a fertile, faith-filled heart, the results are guaranteed.

The hard part is knowing that you're on the verge of a breakthrough, then having God tell you to wait. It's when you think He's forgotten you and every second feels like a lifetime, that your patience gets a workout. David said: "I waited patiently for the Lord… and… He… set my feet on solid ground and [gave] me… a hymn of praise" (Psalm 40:1-3 NLT). When you honor God's timing, you always land on solid ground, and end up with a reason to praise Him.
So, when you know you've a mandate from God but He puts you on hold, stay on the line till He gets back to you. It's well worth waiting to get your answer directly from Him. Think about it! Would you dare trust any other answer?

I'm checking in to post my devotions and bless my secret buddy, then it's back to bed.
My Dr told me yesterday that this "phase" can last one to two weeks :-(
The Dr's office told me I'm "Hyper-Sensitive" and it's the nerve endings reconnecting after the surgery.
So I'll be here as much as I can, but laying flat back feels the best..along with having an ace wrap around me.

There is an enormous difference between going slow and stopping completely. Even if you're making just a little bit of progress, that's far better than being at a standstill or falling behind.
Even when you cannot do everything, you can still do something. When you cannot move as fast as you would like, that's no reason to stop, no reason to give up. Go ahead and continue moving at whatever pace you can. Making just a little progress will, over time, put you much farther ahead than making no progress at all.
When you're faced with more than you can possibly do, feeling overwhelmed and letting it grind you to a halt is not going to help. Pick one thing and start to work on it, then the next, and little by little you'll be getting it all done.
Running swiftly is great when you can do it, yet even when you can't there's no reason for despair. Because walking slowly will just as surely and steadily move you forward, and will keep the positive momentum alive. Chip away at the mountain, steadily and with determination. Not only will you get through it, you'll end up stronger and wiser for the experience.
************
True happiness does not demand anything at all from you. There is nothing that you must first go out and acquire before you can be happy. Happiness is yours when you decide to live with it. Though the superficial symbols and appearances of happiness may be out of reach, happiness itself never is.

Do you want to truly be happy, or would you rather just look like you're happy? Lots of people go to plenty of effort to surround themselves with the appearance of happiness, but that is a sadly empty pursuit, even when it is successful.
The genuine happiness that comes from the heart does not cost anything -- it pays. The decision to be happy and thankful for where you are can do far more to move you ahead than any resentment or discontent. There is nothing outside of you that forces you to be happy and nothing that prevents you from being happy. If you'd like the positive power of happiness it is always there for you to live.

The things that you believe about yourself will probably come to pass. If you see yourself happy, then you will probably be happy. If you see yourself well, you may have good health. The Bible says that you can do all things through the strength of Christ. All you have to do is believe it. God is going before you, making your paths straight and surrounding you with His favor. The Bible also says that His blessings will chase you and overtake you! The key is to make God the center of your focus. Problems shrink when you put your focus on the Him!

A Prayer for Today
God, thank you for the strength and victory that comes only from You. May I have the boldness and strength to see things the way You do and to have a victorious vision. In Jesus' name. Amen

JUST UP THE ROAD

Just up the road from my home is a field, with two horses in it. From a distance, each looks like every other horse. But if one stops the car, or is walking by,
one will notice something quite amazing.

Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind. His owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a good home for him. This alone is amazing.
Listening, one will hear the sound of a bell. Looking around for the source of the sound, one will see that it comes from the smaller horse in the field. Attached to her halter is a small bell. It lets her blind friend know where she is, so he can follow her.

As one stands and watches these two friends, one sees how she is always checking on him, and that he will listen for her bell and then slowly walk to where he is trusting that she will not lead him astray.

Like the owner of these two horses, God does not throw us away just because we are not perfect or because we have problems or challenges.

He watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us when we are in need.

Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by God and those whom He places in our lives. Other times we are the guide horse, helping others see God.

Something wonderful is happening to me right now.
It is this thing called life.
Life is in my mind.
Life is in my body.
Life is in my affairs.
I receive it-I share it-I am it and I accept it.
Just the way that it is and just the way that it is not.
Thank you, life.

The things in your life will change for the better to the extent that you change for the better. Who you truly are on the inside will determine how your life proceeds on the outside.

Progress, success, achievement and fulfillment flow from the inside out. No person or object or situation outside of you can bring about any kind of worthwhile positive change unless you are committed to it on the inside.
Rather than waiting and wishing for things to get better, prepare yourself to be the person who can truly live the reality you seek. Align your thoughts, your passions, your priorities and your actions with the life you desire and it will come to be.
Every great achievement lives first in the mind and in the heart, and from there it works its way into the outer world. That's why it is far more effective to focus on what you can give rather than merely on what you can get. Touch your highest vision and make it part of who you are in every moment. All kinds of good and valuable things will flow from the inside out.

There is a world where every problem is an opportunity to grow stronger. There is a world where the thoughts you think directly affect the life you live.
There is a world where the value you give comes back to you many times over. It is a world filled with an abundance of positive possibilities and valuable opportunities.
There is a world where who you are and what you do really matters. There is a world where you can learn and grow as the result of each experience.
There is a world where even the disappointments and the setbacks can help you to move ahead. There is a bright and shining world where the living of life really matters.
There is a world with a great and wonderful experience of life, filled with possibilities, and you are in it right now. What a priceless treasure you have been given to live, to experience and to share. Ralph Marston

Today, take time to reflect on and give thanks to God for all of His blessings in your life. Whether you are eating turkey, playing games with your family, watching football or visiting a friend, remember to take time to focus on God's goodness. Count your blessings and notice all the grace, favor and love that God has given you. Psalm 95:2 says to "come before His presence with Thanksgiving...shout joyfully to Him with psalms." No matter the circumstances in your life, give thanks and praise to God for all that He has done. Remember how good He is and that His love will endure forever. The Bible says that you show your love for God through your actions towards other people. Reach out to those around you this holiday season and share His love and forgiveness with them. You are blessed to be a blessing to others!

A Prayer for Today
God, no matter what the circumstances, I always give thanks to You for the blessings in my life. Help me find the time to serve others during this busy season and, in doing so, draw closer to You. In Jesus' name – Amen

Setting The Tone

How do you set the tone for your day? In a positive way or a negative way? Do you wake up saying "good lord its morning" or do you say "Good Morning Lord!"?

The choices you make upon waking can have a profound impact on your day. If, still drowsy, you hit the ground running, rushing to prepare yourself to face your worldly obligations, you will likely feel fatigued and overwhelmed for most of your day. A leisurely and relaxing morning, on the other hand, can energize and excite you, as well as give you the courage to meet the challenges waiting for you. By beginning your day spending time with the Lord, you make it your own. You set the tone of your expectations and choose the mood you will use to respond to your circumstances. A gentle, reflective, and thoughtful, prayerful morning will prepare you to create a gentle, conscious, and thoughtful day.

The simplest way to eliminate the rush from your morning routine is to rise earlier. Getting children into routines and getting themselves ready as much as possible will also give you more time. I know what you are thinking, I am already getting up at 4 or 5 AM. How in the world am I going to be able to focus any earlier? Though this may seem like a hardship at first, you will soon grow to love the extra minutes or hours that afford you an opportunity to really enjoy watching the sun come up or connect with your loved ones before you go in your separate directions. There are many more ways you can constructively use the time you gain. A mere half-hour of introspection in which you examine yourself, your goals, thanking God for the richness in your life, and contemplate the blessings you will receive this day can lift your spirit and help you formulate lasting positive expectations.

Likewise, you can solidify your day’s intention through spoken affirmations or the words you record in a journal. Or, if you want little more than to enjoy your day, devote a portion of your personal time to activities that both ground and delight you, such as meditation on the Holy Word of God, singing, reading, or listening to music. If you feel, however, that there is little room for change in your start-of-the-day routine, try to make each activity you engage in upon waking a ritual in its own right. The time you spend everyday savoring a soothing cup of tea, a cup of coffee, time in prayer, and/or washing away tension in a hot shower can serve as a potent reminder of the need to care for yourself no matter what the hour. I do know by personal experience, that if I start my day in a rush, almost without fail, the rest of the day will be spent putting out fires. It is hard to focus and stay on track. I feel like I am working extra hard and not getting anything done. On the other hand, when I purposely set aside time to spend with God and meditate on His Word first thing in the morning, things just go better all day long. It doesn't mean you won't have trials or tribulations, it just means you will be better prepared to deal with them as the Lord will be right there with you.

Your morning is yours and should reflect not only your practical needs but also the needs of your soul. When you center yourself at the start of your day and give your day to the Lord, you will likely find it easier to remain centered during subsequent work, play, and downtime because the overall sense of serenity you create through your choices will stay with you throughout the day. I truly believe that if we make the choice to give our first fruits to the Lord, including our time, He will richly bless us through the day.

Try it for 20 days, don't cheat, by the end of that time you will find it will be a very natural way to start your day. You will absolutely love the results and not want to stop. Let me know how it works for you.

Proverbs 16:18
Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before stumbling.
Pride is a killer. Pride says, "I can do it alone. I can get myself out of this mess without God's help." Oh, no you can't! We absolutely need God, and we desperately need each other. Paul wrote, "We are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh" (Philippians 3:3).

Humility is confidence properly placed. Examine the instructions on pride and humility in James 4:6-10 and 1 Peter 5:1-10. The context reveals that spiritual conflict follows the expression of pride. Pride is what caused Lucifer to be thrown out of heaven.
Jesus said, "Simon, Simon [Peter], behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat" (Luke 22:31).

On what basis could Satan make that demand? The context reveals the answer: "There arose also a dispute among them as to which one of them was regarded to be greatest" (Luke 22:24). Pride was Peter's downfall, and it opened the door to the devil's opposition.

The Lord says that pride goes before destruction and an arrogant spirit before stumbling (Proverbs 16:18). We must confess areas where we have not denied ourselves, picked up our cross daily, and followed Him (Matthew 16:24). In so doing we have given ground to the enemy in our lives.

Have we believed that we could be successful and live victoriously by our own strength and resources? We must confess that we have sinned against God by placing our will before His and by centering our lives around self instead of Him. We must renounce the self life and by so doing cancel all the ground that has been gained in our members by the enemies of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We must pray that God will guide us so that we will do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but that with humility of mind we will regard others as more important than ourselves (Philippians 2:3). We must ask God to enable us through love to serve others and in honor prefer others (Romans 12:10).

A Prayer for Today God, I want my life to be marked by a humble spirit today. Forgive me for my proud, self-centered ways and independent spirit. In Jesus' name. Amen

If I had to select one quality, one personal
characteristic that I regard as being most
highly correlated with success, whatever the
field, I would pick the trait of persistence
Determination. The will to endure to the end,
to get knocked down seventy times and get up off
the floor saying, "Here comes number seventy-one!"

*************************************
Your life can change at any time, from
harmonious to difficult. The reality is that you
have no control over circumstances that may
turn your life upside down.

But there is something you can control. That
something is your reaction to the situation.
When you accept this and resist the urge to
blame and act as the victim, you regain control.

Be mindful when life gets tough. Never give
away what power you do possess, when
confronted with a bad situation.

Be calm. Be strong. You can do it!
************************************
Great things happen when small things are done with purpose, care and persistence. Few people can make a big positive impact on the first attempt, yet anyone can have a small impact, and then another and another.
The small things matter, because they join together to become big things. Every moment is your opportunity to do the small things that can surely and steadily bring about big results.
Those who sit and wait for a big break rarely ever get one, and wonder why life has been so cruel and unfair. Those who do what they can, when they can, with what they have, will get precisely where they intend to go. Today is your chance to do what you can. It may seem small, but focus and persistence will, over time, make it into something big. Meaningful, lasting value is something that is built, effort upon effort, day after day, moment by moment. Step forward at every opportunity, be willing to do the small things, and you'll be making the big things happen.

Is all of your trust in God today? Many people say that they believe in God, but act like He's a distant and uninvolved relative. To have the fullness of life that God promises you, you must believe what God says, not just believe in His existence. God wants you to step out and leave the ordinary behind. He is speaking to you today and encouraging you to believe in Him. God is waiting to bless you more than you could ever think, but you have to take the first step. Your step may be big or small, but you must take it to come closer to God and experience everything that He wants you to experience.

A Prayer for Today
God, we know that You're waiting to bless us more than we could ever imagine. Give us the strength to take the first step, and come towards You! Thank you for all that You've blessed us with already. In Jesus' name. Amen.

It was the day AFTER Christmas at a church in Adelaide. The pastor of the church was looking at the manger scene, when he noticed that the baby Jesus figure was missing from the cradle. He immediately turned and went
Outside and saw a little boy with a red wagon walking down the street.

And in the wagon, was the figure of the infant Jesus.

So he walked up to the boy and said, "Son, where did you get that little baby Jesus that's in your wagon?"

The little boy replied, "I got him from the church." "And why did you take him?" asked the pastor.

The little boy replied, "Well, about a week before Christmas, I prayed to the little Lord Jesus. I told him if he would bring me a red wagon for Christmas, I would give him a ride around the block in it.....

THE JOY OF HARMONY
From Turning towards Joy by David Jeremiah

If you are looking for a new was to be unhappy, perhaps one or two of these ideas will motivate you to greater depths of despair:

Make the little things bother you; don’t just keep them, make them.
Lose your perspective on things, and keep it lost. Don’t put first things first.
Get yourself a good worry – one about which you cannot do anything but worry.
Be a perfectionist: condemn yourself and others for not achieving perfection.
Be right, always right, perfectly right all the time. Be the only one who is right and rigid about your rightness.
Don’t trust or believe people, or accept them at anything but their worst and their weakest. Be suspicious. Impute ulterior motives to them.
Always compare yourself unfavorably to others, which is a guarantee of instant misery.
Take personally, with a chip on your shoulder, everything that happens to you that you don’t like.
Don’t give yourself wholeheartedly or enthusiastically to anyone or anything.
Make unhappiness the aim of your life, instead of bracing for life’s barbs through a “bitter with the sweet” philosophy.

Follow this prescription faithfully for 2 weeks and I guarantee you unhappiness.

Since I read the above, I make a conscious effort to look at that list when I have a negative feeling and see where I am choosing not to be content. No one is happy all the time for without knowing the depths of despair are we able to know the heights of joy.

Here are Paul’s four principles for continued harmony:

Don’t be defeated – Stand
Don’t be divisive – be of the same mind.
Don’t be discouraged – rejoice in the Lord.
Don’t be defensive – let your big heartedness be known to all men.

Since we began .with some cynical principles for leading an unhappy life, let’s conclude with something from Judson Edwards’ book “What They Never Told Us about How to Get Along with One Another”. Here are six rules that will go a long way toward making our fellowship sweet and our divisions few:

Agree More – Argue Less
Listen More – Talk Less
Produce More – Advertise Less
Confess More – Accuse Less
Laugh More – Fret Less
Give More – Receive Less

These six axioms seem right at home alongside Paul’s letter. For whatever we do to promote harmony among God’s children is near and dear to the heart of our Savior, who drew a straight line between our love for one another and joy.

Have you heard of the A-B-C method of managing your attitude? It's
simple and effective.

"A" stands for the "Activating Event." Let's say you get stuck in
traffic. The traffic jam is the activating event.

"B" stands for your "Belief System." You believe that traffic is only
getting worse and you'll have more and more days like this ahead.

"C" stands for the "Consequence of the Event." You become angry. You
want to honk your horn. Your stomach is tied in knots and you bang
the dashboard with your fist.

The problem is...most people jump directly from "A" to "C." They get
stuck in traffic and become angry. They think the traffic jam made
them upset. They don't realize that they didn't HAVE to get angry.
They skipped an important step!

>Let's try it again:

"A" - you get stuck in traffic.

"B" - you believe that you were given some unexpected and extra time
to spend in solitude, to listen to a great tape or to plan your day.

"C" - the consequence is that you feel gratitude for the gift of
time.

I have a friend who is fond of saying, "A traffic jam has no power to
make us angry. It just stops our car." He is aware that between the
activating event and the consequence is something that we control:
our beliefs about what is happening.

The next time you have a problem -- at home or at work, big or
small -- decide to manage your attitude toward it. Practice the A-B-C
method. You probably can't change "A," the activating event. But try
changing "B," your beliefs about the problem. When you change your
beliefs, you also change "C," the consequences of the situation.

It's as simple as A-B-C. Manage your beliefs, and you'll manage to be
a lot happier!

Stress is a fact of life. Every one of us encounters it.

If your work is stressful, if you're a single parent, or
a caretaker of an elderly parent, or if you're grieving for
someone you love, your stress level has probably
peaked.

Since it is impossible to avoid stress, we must deal
with it. The key in dealing with stress is learning how
to de-stress. It's all about opening your value and
releasing the pressure.

Music, walking, laughing, and curling up with a good book are great ways to
bring calm back into your life-even if it is just for a
moment. Don't forget to take care of yourself, it is
only when you do that the stresses of your life seem
easier to handle.
*

The things that you merely possess can be lost or taken from you in an instant. Yet the things that you become will be a part of you always. What you get, even under the best of circumstances, usually is yours only for a limited time. Yet what you give will always be a part of you.
If your desires are petty, limited and trivial, the world will always seem to be cold and mean. Expand your priorities beyond the superficial concerns, and suddenly you'll see life in a whole new, bright and shining light.
When you put your efforts into who you can be and what you can do, rather than just on what you can have, something amazing happens. Suddenly, instead of fighting against each moment, each person, each situation, you're flowing powerfully along with them all.
If your goal is only to acquire, then whatever you get loses meaning as soon as you get it. Yet when you seek to become, to do, to give, you enter a realm of ever-increasing fulfillment. The more you give of yourself, the more of yourself there is to give, to live, to experience and enjoy.
*

Much of the difficulty involved in any effort is in fighting against your own reluctance to undertake that effort. Let go of that reluctance, and the effort becomes effortless.
Many of the things you think of as fun require just as much exertion, focus and commitment as those things you think of as work. Yet the fun things you do willingly, enthusiastically, in a real sense effortlessly, while the work you often look at as a chore that you'd rather avoid.
Imagine how much more effective you'd be if, instead of dreading and fighting against certain tasks, you simply got them done. And think of how much worry, stress and anxiety you'd avoid by taking such an approach.
All it really requires is a simple change in thinking. Rather than seeing any effort as something to be resented and avoided, just jump enthusiastically into the experience of it and get it done.
Stop fighting against your own unique and incredible ability to make things happen. See your efforts as effortless, and experience how much more powerful and effective they become.

Clear Out the Debris...And Let the River Flow

Deep inside each of us there is a river—a river of life. The river is a wonderful gift, given to each of us by God. This river refreshes, renews, and revitalizes our lives. I'm sure all of us have known people from time to time who have defied all logic and stayed alive years longer than they should have or they've been able to keep up a positive outlook on life even though terrible things had happened to them. Their "river" ran strong and would not stop flowing.

On the other hand, there are those who seem to always be down, whether physically or emotionally. No matter what they seem to try, they can't seem to snap out of it. Their river has been stopped up...and only a little trickle seems to pass through.

God places this river in every one of us—it flows with good health, a positive outlook on life, and a generous and forgiving attitude. Ideally, this river flows freely through us. When we allow this flow and keep our well from getting plugged up, there's a peace, an ease, a current that takes us along—everything seems easier. Good things come our way. When wonderful opportunities are presented to us, we're ready for them.

Many people, however, have allowed their well to become plugged up. Years of neglect have caused the river flow, which used to be strong and powerful, to become choked down to just a small stream. Everything's hard—nothing comes easy. People with a stopped-up well have to strive for things that come easily to others. It's as if they've become mired in a mud hole and every step is a struggle. Do you know people like this? Does this sound like you and your life?

I once had a stopped-up well in my life. I struggled, trying to tap into the river that I knew was in me. I was constantly digging dry wells—working on projects, chasing ideas that were disappointing and unfulfilling. I believed that if I could just make something work, I would be happy; I would find peace and fulfillment. I would strive after these things everyday, but I never found the peace I was looking for. I found, over the years, that I had allowed my well to become stopped-up with "stones and debris." The river no longer flowed freely, and I was miserable.

Although I didn't realize it at the time, I really struggled with issues in my life like unforgiveness, anger, selfishness, offense, and disobedience. These issues became like stones, dirt, and debris that had caused my well to become plugged-up. With God's help, one by one, these issues in my life are being dealt with. It's a long process, but the stones are much smaller today than they used to be—the river of life in me flows much stronger now.

Are you tired of your life being dry, confused, and without direction? Are you weary of having to strive for everything you get in life? Just remember, until you're able to get your well cleared out and unplugged, everything will be difficult, disappointing and unfulfilling. No matter what you try, you'll be unable to taste the water from that river - and that water satisfies like nothing else.

Remember, God put a river of life inside each of us. We just need to tap into that stream by dealing with those things in our life that stop up the flow—things like unforgiveness, selfishness, offense, anger, and disobedience. God can help you to forgive, to see the needs of those around you, to let go of past hurts or wrongs. He wants to help you deal with the stones and debris that are stopping up your well.

Make a choice today to stop spending your life fighting, struggling, and trudging through the mud with every step. Stop taking inventory of what you've lost, and take a good look at what you've got left. Ask God to help you clear out the debris—then enjoy the satisfying flow of the river of life!

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will
worry about it's own things. Sufficient unto the day is it's own
trouble.

Matthew 6:34

It is an interesting concept to have a clean slate.
A fresh start, an unencumbered path. Something everyone
wants, and very few people have.

How in this stressful, troubled, lonely world, do we obtain
freedom of spirit and mind?

I am reminded of a little red wagon. Each day,
we pull this wagon around behind us, and as each
trouble or worry comes, it gets loaded in that little
wagon. By the end of the day, it is pretty heavy and
cumbersome wagon, filled with sorrow and care.
A burden for sure.

Now, we have several choices on what to do with that
wagon. Most people keep clinging to that ol wagon,
toting it from day to day. Imagine that each new day
you get another new wagon to pull around, each filled
with worries, and cares. Things you refuse to
let go of or deal with. Soon you
have a long string of wagons behind you weighing you
down and keeping you from moving with grace, and speed,
and spiritual freedom, deliverance and hope.

You my friend, are in bondage to your worries!!
Did that concept ever occur to you? Well, it is a very true one, and most people never really learn practical, down to earth concepts to help them overcome this habit of holding on
to our troubles, and the past.

We have to recognize it is a state of mind. A way of thinking,
that we have probably been taught. Perhaps no one ever
taught you there is a better way to live. Perhaps you thought
you were supposed to carry all these things around, after all,
they are your very own problems aren't they?

Jesus had an interesting response to that:
Cast all your cares on me, for I care for you.
1 Peter 5:7.

Cast? How do we cast?

1. Recognize you have problems, everyone does.
2. Recognize that they are too heavy for you to
bear from day to day.
3. Recognize the bondage they have become
to your life.
4. Recognize they are robbing you of your joy and peace,
and most of all your hope.
5. Recognize you need to learn to peel your hands
off of these things and cast them in the hands of God.

These concepts need to be remembered and adhered
to daily. Casting your care upon Him for He cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7

Have you ever seen a fisherman cast his line into
the water? He reaches far back and tosses that line
forward and it goes a long way out to the water.
Casting, is a skill. One we all need to learn.

God wants us to be free. As each new day arrives,
He wants it to be unencumbered by yesterday.
The more yesterdays you have piled in those little
wagons, the less you will enjoy today. And everyone
around you will pay the price.

Do you really think it is worth it to hold on to these things?

Past hurts, worries, unforgiveness, financial problems,
mistakes we have made we cannot forgive ourselves for,
worrying what does the future hold, remembering
things you have said, or someone else has said
you cannot forgive or forget.

These are cumbersome, unnecessary things to focus on.
A waste of your precious energy.

Forgive everyone, even if they don't ask:
For if you forgive men their trespasses (sin), your heavenly
Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men
their trespasses, neither with your Father forgive your
trespasses.
Matthew 6:14

This should include forgiving ourselves and
starting over fresh and clean in the eyes of God daily.
Repentance is a great healer, and restorer of the soul.

These words were spoken by Jesus. That couldn't be
more clear. We either forgive, or we will not be forgiven.
That is a big burden to carry around, one we were never
meant to carry.

Love others, even when you don't feel they love you.
But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless those who curse
you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who
spitefully use you and persecute you.
Matthew 5:44

Don't carry your burdens, give them away quickly,
God never intended for you to carry them.
1 Peter 5:7 says give them away. Everyday.
Just let go, and stop thinking about them. Release
them to God in prayer, one by one.

Then remember:

The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are
the everlasting arms: and He shall thrust out the enemy
from before thee and shall say, Destroy them.
Deuteronomy 33:27

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13

Beloved think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which
is to try you as though some strange thing has happened to you.
But rejoice, inasmuch as you are partakers of Christ's
sufferings, that when His glory shall be revealed, you
may be glad also with exceeding joy.
1 Peter 4:12,13

Don't be stressed, be dressed with praise.
Each evening leave your troubles at his feet, just
as you remove your clothes to lay down and rest
comfortably, unencumbered. Take off your worries,
trials, cares and hurts, and lay them at the feet of the
man of Galilee, who loved you and gave His life for you
that you might have freedom of spirit and forgiveness of
sins.

I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13

Only one life, will soon be past
Only what is done, for Christ will last

When you reach the end of your rope you will find the hem of His garment.

When you think about it, the people of this world have always seen much less than God intended to show them. Do you ever have trouble thinking big and trusting God for something big? If you do, you're not alone, because everyone has. But in order to experience all the blessings God has in store for you, you must step out of your small box and dive into the large box of God's love. Sometimes it's difficult to have a God-sized life view and expectations, but when you learn to really trust God, you'll see Him do great things for you.

A Prayer for Today
God, Your Word says that You are bigger than I could ever imagine, and I thank You for Your bigger plans for me. Give me the strength to trust You and expect You to do great things in my life. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Hello there! :)

Can we do anything to help you?

ForHisGlory

God doesn't just want you to be happy, He wants you to be full of joy! You don't have to give yourself a pep talk, and you don't have to pretend every day just to play it off. Something happens that no one can explain when a person turns their life over to God. That supernatural something flows out of you every day when you live your life to the fullest for the glory of God. When you live life to the fullest, you'll seek to bless others and God will make your dreams come true in His name!

A Prayer for Today
God, I know that You have something great for me and I'm excited to know that I can start discovering that today! Thank You for real happiness that isn't forced or faked.

"DAILY WISH"

My daily wish is that we may
See good in those who pass our way;

Find in each a worthy trait
That we shall gladly cultivate;

See in each one passing by
The better things that beautify

A softly spoken word of cheer,
A kindly face, a smile sincere.

I pray each day that we may view
The things that warm one's heart anew;

The kindly deed that can't be bought
That only from good are wrought,

A burden lightened here and there,
A brother lifted from despair,

The aged ones freed from distress;
The lame, the sick, brought happiness.

Grant that before each sun has set
We'll witness deeds we can't forget;

A soothing hand to one in pain,
A sacrifice for love - not gain;

A word to ease the troubled mind
Of one whom fate has dealt unkind.

So, friend, my wish is that we may
See good in all who pass our way.

Lonely and alone, discouraged and empty hearted
That's when a man needs a brother
When the burden is heavy, the load too much to bear
That's when a man needs a brother
When in despair, and needing someone to care
That's when a man needs a brother
When the strong arm on your shoulders make the tears flow free
That's when a man needs a brother
When the words, "we'll make it through together" seem so sweet
That's when a man needs a brother
When courage is needed and strength to carry on
That's when a man needs a brother
When you think you can do it alone
That's when a man needs a brother

You must remember that God is not only with you, He is also for you and He is in you! His goodness and mercy follow you everywhere you go, no matter where you go. He has also promised that no matter what path life takes you on, He'll go ahead of you and make the crooked paths straight. As long as you're following His path, you simply can't lose! Once you begin to see the future through the eyes of faith, you'll discover that victory is within your grasp. Begin to see yourself the way God sees you, and it will change your perspective on everything.

BLESSED IS HE WHOSE TRANSGRESSIONS ARE FORGIVEN, WHOSE SINS ARE COVERED. BLESSED IS THE MAN WHOSE SIN THE LORD DOES NOT COUNT AGAINST HIM AND IN WHOSE SPIRIT IS NO DECEIT. ( PSALM 32:1-2 *NIV )

Often people feel that they have committed a sin in the past that can not be forgiven.

A sin that is so horrible that God could never forgiven them. This is simply not true!

For; IF WE CONFESS OUR SINS, HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST AND WILL FORGIVE US OUR SINS AND PURIFY US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS. ( 1 JOHN 1:9 )

After all Jesus even forgave a thief on the cross, did He not? ( LUKE 23:40-43 )

This is because when we confess our sins and ask for forgiveness, our past sins are cleansed from the Book of Life by the Precious Blood of our Savior Jesus Christ!

For; IN HIM WE HAVE REDEMPTION THROUGH HIS BLOOD THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RICHES OF GOD'S GRACE THAT HE LAVISHED ON US WITH ALL WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING. ( EPHESIANS 1:7-8 )

Therefore never feel that a sin you have committed in the past can not be forgiven, that simply is not true! For our Savior paid the price for the sin debt for the whole World on the cross!

So, it can be said; WHO IS A GOD LIKE YOU, WHO PARDONS SIN AND FORGIVES THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE REMNANT OF HIS INHERITANCE? YOU DO NOT STAY ANGRY FOREVER BUT DELIGHT TO SHOW MERCY. YOU WILL AGAIN HAVE COMPASSION ON US; YOU WILL TREAD OUR SINS UNDERFOOT AND HURL ALL OUR INIQUITIES INTO THE DEPTHS OF THE SEA. Amen. ( MICAH 7:18-19 )

I truly believe that God daily puts things on our hearts that we are not to hold to ourselves, but to share...cause there is someone somewhere who needs to also hear/read it :-)
Many times I've shared something not knowing the "why", and then I'll get a PM/IM/Email telling me that that person "really needed that"...how good of a feeling it is to know we are instruments of God being used in this way!

Great Bible characters didn't live a life of great exploits every day. They lived most of their lives the same way you do, taking care of the day-to-day things. Take the life of Noah, for instance. It must have been a great day for Noah when the rain finally started falling and his family raced onto the ark. And it was probably the high point of Noah's life when God brought him and his family safely to dry ground after months on the ark. But compared to the 120 long years it took Noah to build the ark, these brief chapters in his life were almost nothing. Noah had to keep his faith strong through all of those ordinary days while building the ark so that when God was ready to do something great through him, Noah was ready too. What does God want to do through you? Being faithful today is another step toward discovering His best.

A Prayer for Today
God, thank You for the examples of heroes in the Bible. Help me to be faithful in the things You have given me to do today.

HOLY, HOLY, HOLY, IS THE LORD OF HOSTS: THE WHOLE EARTH IS FULL OF HIS GLORY! ( ISAIAH 6:3 *NKJV )

Dear Friends,

Indeed, the whole Earth is full of His Glory! You can see it in a beautiful sunrise or sunset.
You can feel it in the soft summer breeze. You can touch it by holding a newborn babe. You can smell it in the flowers.

It is ever abundant all around, for no matter where we live, beauty surrounds us!

FOR HE HAS MADE EVERYTHING BEAUTIFUL IN ITS TIME. ( ECCL 3:11 )

What a beautiful planet we live on, and what a wonderful Heavenly Father we have!

Why not take a few moments today to look around and behold the Glory of God's Creation? It will make you proud to be a Child of God, and give you a peaceful feeling deep within!

Also, if you aren't planning to already, why not attend the Church of your choice today, and;

GRACE TO YOU AND PEACE FROM GOD THE FATHER
AND OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, WHO GAVE HIM-
SELF FOR OUR SINS, THAT HE MIGHT DELIVER US
FROM THIS PRESENT EVIL AGE..
( GALATIANS 1:3-4 *NKJV )

Dear Friends,

As you know, no one knows what the future holds for them, but the Children of God may have peace of mind! Our
Heavenly Father has great plans for our future, not only on
Earth, but in Heaven as well! For

IT IS WRITTEN: EYE HAS
NOT SEEN, NOR EAR HEARD, NOR HAVE ENTERED INTO
THE HEART OF MAN THE THINGS WHICH GOD HAS
PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.
( 1 CORINTHIANS 2:9 )

Therefore we have no reason to fear the future, for with God
in charge, there is no need to worry about anything!

For inthis life when we have heartache and woe, He is always there to comfort and guide us, and in our next life, we will live with Him in Paradise forever!

No, we cannot imagine all of the wonderful things that God
has planned for our future, but one thing that we may count
on is that the best is yet to come!

"FOR I KNOW THE
THOUGHTS THAT I THINK TOWARD YOU," SAYS THE
LORD, "THOUGHTS OF PEACE AND NOT OF EVIL, TO
GIVE YOU A FUTURE AND A HOPE. " ( JEREMIAH 29:11 )

Therefore

"THERE IS HOPE IN YOUR FUTURE," SAYS THE
LORD! ( JEREMIAH 31:17 )

So have a wonderful Monday, and may God's
Great Love, Hope and Faith, fill your heart and mind, and may

THE PEACE OF GOD, WHICH SURPASSES ALL
UNDERSTANDING, GUARD YOUR HEART AND MIND
THROUGH JESUS CHRIST. Amen!

The Bible says that because Jesus lowered Himself, He is given the name above every other name. Jesus is exalted because He chose to lay down His life instead of turning away, and because He chose to put the good of others ahead of His own good. That is the example that he wants you to follow. Jesus laid down His own life. What are you willing to lay down so that others may experience His life-transforming power? Choose today to live to give, because giving to others is the secret to a life of joy, fruitfulness, and abundance.

A Prayer for Today

If you've been feeling depressed, discouraged or
bummed out for a while you may just be making a
comfortable bed for your unhappy feelings. Who
wants to leave a comfortable bed? Not me!

Low spirits are kept alive and well when you
rehearse depressing thoughts in your mind over
and over again. Guess What? It's time for you to
make an intelligent decision, and that decision is for
change.

Start thinking in terms of possibilities and
opportunities instead of things that bring you
down. It's hard at first and you may have to force
yourself, but with a little practice, your spirits will
improve and the blue funk will subside

Gratitude is one of those words that you don't
hear very often, but it is one that can do magic
when it comes to shifting your attitude. Make a
list of things that you are most thankful for
and make it a comprehensive list. This list
holds your most cherished times, possessions
and people in your life.

When you're having one of those bad days
and you need to feel better, more positive and
more resourceful, refer back to your Gratitude
List.

After all, what you are most grateful for

We all are guilty of forgetting our blessings once in a while,
and not thanking our Heavenly Father for the many blessings
that He has given to us. This is even though

FROM THE
FULLNESS OF HIS GRACE WE HAVE ALL RECEIVED ONE BLESSING AFTER ANOTHER. ( JOHN 1:16 )

Dr. Norman Vincent Peale once wrote, that if you spend
two minutes each morning counting all of your blessings,
you will find that the day will turn out well! So why not try
that today, and while you are counting them remember to
thank God for them. After all through Him all our blessings
flow indeed!

Therefore

THANKS BE TO GOD FOR HIS INCREDIBLE

and when you thank Him
make sure that you are

ALWAYS GIVING THANKS TO
GOD THE FATHER FOR EVERYTHING, IN THE NAME OF
OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. ( EPHESIANS 5:20 )

Contrary to what most people think confident people
sometimes doubt themselves and their abilities. So,
being confident doesn't necessarily mean that you will never

Doubt, concern, nervousness are real feelings and
they happen whether you're confident or not.

Instead of spending time doubting themselves, or,
worrying about what they cannot do or might not be
able to do, confident people focus on what they can
control. They turn their concentration away from
uncertainty and toward conviction.

You can do the same. When you concentrate on the

With the new year comes fresh starts, resolutions, and new beginnings. It is a time of making plans, setting goals, and writing visions. But the greatest "new start" of all comes through Jesus Christ. II Corinthians 5:17 says: "Therefore, if any one is in Christ, he is a NEW creation; the old has passed away, behold the new has come."

If you need a new beginning this year, in any area of your life, allow Christ to make you a new creation and the old will pass away! He will put a new and right spirit within you when you call upon His name! This year, make your relationship with Him your number one priority. As you develop an intimacy with Him through daily prayer and the study of His Word, you will experience the joy of newness of life!

NOW THE SERPENT WAS MORE CUNNING THAN ANY
BEAST OF THE FIELD WHICH THE LORD HAD MADE.
AND HE SAID TO THE WOMAN, "HAS GOD INDEED
SAID, YOU SHALL NOT EAT OF EVERY TREE OF THE
GARDEN?
( GENESIS 3:1 * NKJV )

The serpent (satan) has been tempting mankind since
the beginning of this earth age. Just as he tempted
Adam and Eve, he tempts us as well! Therefore you
must

BE SOBER, BE VIGILANT; BECAUSE YOUR
ADVERSARY THE DEVIL WALKS ABOUT LIKE A
ROARING LION, SEEKING WHOM HE MAY DEVOUR.
( 1 PETER 5:8 )

Now as Childern of God we have added protection for
It is written

NO TEMPTATION HAS OVERTAKEN
YOU EXCEPT SUCH AS IS COMMON TO MAN; BUT
GOD IS FAITHFUL, WHO WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO
BE TEMPTED BEYOND WHAT YOU ARE ABLE, BUT
WITH THE TEMPTATION WILL ALSO MAKE A WAY
OF ESCAPE, THAT YOU MAY BE ABLE TO BEAR IT.

THEREFORE SUBMIT TO GOD, RESIST THE
DEVIL AND HE WILL FLEE FROM YOU. For when you;

So the next time satan tries to tempt you
tell him to take a hike! For Jesus Christ gave you that
power when He said

"BEHOLD, I GIVE YOU THE

Jesus Christ said,

"PEACE I LEAVE WITH YOU; MY PEACE I GIVE YOU. I DO
NOT GIVE TO YOU AS THE WORLD GIVES. DO NOT LET
YOUR HEARTS BE TROUBLED AND DO NOT BE AFRAID."
( JOHN 14:27)

Now with all that is going on in the World today it
is hard to have any peace of mind. After all, with wars
and rumors of wars, terrorists, and violent weather etc
happening all over the World, it is a bit unsettling to say
the least!

So remember that Jesus told us:

"YOU WILL HEAR OF WARS
AND RUMORS OF WARS, BUT SEE TO IT THAT YOU ARE
NOT ALARMED. SUCH THINGS MUST HAPPEN, BUT THE
END IS STILL TO COME. NATION WILL RISE AGAINST
NATION, AND KINGDOM AGAINST KINGDOM. THERE
WILL BE FAMINES AND EARTHQUAKES IN VARIOUS
PLACES." ( MATTHEW 24:6-8 )

So no doubt the Universe is
unfolding as it should be.

Therefore keep your mind focused on Jesus Christ
for He said

"I HAVE TOLD YOU THESE THINGS, SO THAT
IN ME YOU MAY HAVE PEACE. IN THIS WORLD YOU
WILL HAVE TROUBLE. BUT TAKE HEART! I HAVE
OVERCOME THE WORLD." ( JOHN 16:33 )

So why not start each day with the following
prayer, and even better yet, why not try to live by it as well.

LET THE PEACE OF CHRIST RULE IN YOUR HEARTS,
SINCE AS MEMBERS OF ONE BODY YOU WERE
CALLED TO PEACE, AND BE THANKFUL, (COLOSSIANS 3:15)

and by living this prayer it will help you find true peace and serenity indeed!

God, grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace;
Taking, as Jesus did, this sinful World as it is,
Not as I would have it;

Trusting that You will make all things right
If I surrender to Your will;

So that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with You
Forever in the next. Amen.

"'God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.'" James 4:6
Why have some Christians received more grace? If, as we said, grace is undeserved favor, does that mean God has favorites? Is there something capricious about the Almighty's allocation of help to His children?

Some secular writers have portrayed God as being like men and women, biased in His affections and having an inexplicable preference for one person and disinterest in another. But surely God does not take "a fancy" to some people and not others.

There is favor to be found in God, but no favoritism. His favor moves to all who are willing and eager to receive it. But to return to our question: Why do some receive more grace than others? I think the main reason must be this -- they know that there is grace to be had.

Sometimes I come across Christians who think that God's only concern is to get us on to the pilgrim way and that He then leaves us to our own devices. You can tell such people by the way they talk about their conversion -- and nothing more.

They seem unconcerned about the fact that God's great aim is not simply to bring us into the Christian life but to develop us in it. He is not content with calling us "saints" but making us saints; not simply cancelling sin but breaking its power over us.

Those who use God's grace are those who know He has plenty to give. Of this they are confident, and thus they keep it in mind all the time. When they have used what they have, they know there is always more to follow.
Prayer:
God, what a comfort it is to know that however much I draw on Your grace there is always more to follow. I cannot draw heavily on many things but I can draw heavily on You. May this be more than an idea; may it be a fact.
In Jesus name'. Amen.

Happiness Is An Inside Job

"There must be a spiritual renewal of your thoughts and attitudes." Ephesians 4:23 NLT

William James said, "The greatest discovery of our generation is that we can alter our lives by altering our attitudes." Think about that! It's your thought life, not your circumstances, that determines your happiness.
We keep thinking we'll be happy when a certain thing happens. For example, some mothers say, "When little Johnny gets out of elementary school I'll be happy." And they are for a while. Next, "When Johnny graduates from high school I'll be happy." And they are, at least for the summer. Next, Johnny's graduation brings the same promise; so does his marriage; so does the birth of his first child. But the problem is, she hasn't learned how to be happy between "happenings!" If your happiness is always controlled by something outside of yourself, you'll always be at the mercy of circumstances. That's not God's plan for you!
David said: "I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth" (Psalm 34:1). David chose the right attitude - and you've got to choose it too. You also have to maintain it. That's the hard part. It's like the old farmer said, "The hardest thing about milking cows is, they never stay milked!" And it's the same with attitudes; they don't stay changed; you've got to work on them every day. That's why Paul writes, "There must be a spiritual renewal of your thoughts and attitudes." And Solomon adds, "Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts" (Proverbs 4:23 TEV).

Do you fellowship with your problem or with the Lord?

The devil wants us to think about our problem, worry about our problem, talk about and try to reason out our problem. God desires for us to spend time with Him, talk to Him, and think about Him and His Word.

Jesus is the One we are to look to in order to have our needs met. If we dwell in Him, our problem has no power over us, but if we dwell on the problem, we magnify it above Him. The more attention we give our problem, the more we feed it, the more power it has over us.

The devil starts the problem rolling. The more you think, worry, reason, talk, plan, and scheme about it, the bigger it gets. If you look to Jesus, you will experience the miracle power of God as you trust in Him.

Forget your problems. Don't think about them, worry about them, or talk about them. Fellowship with God instead, and you will enjoy life tremendously.

A Prayer for Today

God, thank You that I can give You all my burdens and cares. I want to fellowship with You and enjoy the blessings You have bestowed upon me.
In Jesus' name. Amen

I appreciate your msg FHG. I would only alter one thing. We are encouraged to talk about our problems with God, and with our brother's and sisters in Christ, so that they may pray for us. When we have a problem, we should go to those, we know, will offer a prayer on our behalf.

I love this thread. It's very encouraging and it offers a lot of hope.

Faith, Hope, and Trust.
One is the key to our relationship with Christ.
One is what we get, when we put our faith in Him.
One is what we learn, when we see with our spirit, and not with our flesh.

When you make Jesus the Lord of your life, God puts within you an eternal well that will never run dry. You have an unlimited supply of good things inside you which should be continually bubbling out of you. But Satan doesn't want your joy, happiness, or laughter to flow freely. So he comes along and throws a stone of, say, worry into your well. You may think, "That's just one little stone. It's not hurting anything. The water is still flowing pretty well." But Satan will be back soon with another stone, whether it's fear, self-pity, or hopelessness. If you haven't dealt individually with each of these stones and gotten rid of them, your nice, free-flowing well of good things will become clogged. But you can still unclog it with a major dose of laughter!
A Prayer for Today
Lord, thank You for the spring of eternal life and joy that You have placed within me. Help me deal with the stones that can block the free flow of goodness, joy, and laughter.

In Jesus' name. Amen.

Good Morning Everyone,

Whether the sun is rising where you are, or beginning
to set, you have been given a day to enjoy
and to fill up with either success or failure.
Hope or despair, love or unforgiveness and hatred.
You have been given a gift to invest in your own
way, with your own mindset, and your own planning.

How is that working for you?

The Bible is fairly clear on it. It says what we
sow we reap. If we sow (plant) seeds of kindness
those will grow up and kiss us with the joy of
past relationships filled with mercy. If we sow
hope and the word of God into lives of others,
we can look back on a life that was satisfying
in our ministry to others spiritual lives.
If we sow joy, we will reap peace in our hearts.

Life can be satisfying or bitter.

I tell you this. I have been alive 60 years this
coming April, and I have learned so much from
this journey.

The law of reciprocity is true. What you give
and put into life is what will come back and
either haunt you or bless you.

Remember this: (a saying I penned)
The good days are a blessing,
The bad days are our teachers.

It is all a choice. All will have problems,
ups, downs, failures and triumphs.
We all have choices on how to deal with it
face it and invest our lives.

What will your choices be? And when you get
old will you be satisfied looking back?

Make your life a garden that is pleasing to God,
and brings you the reward of time well and lovingly
invested.

ps. You do your part, God will lead the way
and provide the means.. you just need to be open
to his movement, instruction and will in your life!
He will provide!

Do not earnestly remember the former things, neither
consider the things of old. Behold I am doing a new thing
(in you) now it springs forth; do you not perceive and
know it, and will you not give heed to it? I will
even make a way in the wilderness and
rivers in the desert!
Isaiah 43:18, 19

Life Stretches Us and We Enlarge

Author: Anonymous

"I am thankful for the gift of life, for the opportunity to breathe and move and see, for the invisible energy that lovingly beats my heart.

"I am thankful for the opportunity to give to and receive from those around me. I am grateful for the privacy of my thoughts, for the freedom to think whatever I wish. I deeply appreciate the little pleasures and joys of life--the sound of children at play, the movement of clouds, the touch of loved ones, the early morning fragrance of dew-kissed roses.

"I am thankful for all the unavoidable hurts, setbacks, disappointments, and times of deep pain--for these teach me patience, humility, and endurance. I do not seek suffering, but when it comes I accept it as a friend who guides, imparts wisdom, and teaches of rising above pain.

"I appreciate all the people in my life--those dear ones who comfort me and cheer me on, and those who so creatively challenge my patience, kindness and self-control. Without such people, how would I ever learn to grow in understanding, strength and compassion?

"I am grateful for all those who have gone before me, giving of their lives, creativity and love. I am thankful for the food that sustains my body, for gentle smiles and the music of laughter, for the colorful faces of wayside flowers. I give thanks for the springtime breezes, for the warm caress of the sun, the winter's blanket of white, the soft glow of moonlit nights, and the pitter-patter of raindrops upon the parched earth.

"I accept loss and death, and give thanks for the deepening of my spirit they bring. I am thankful for my growing sense of inner calmness, trust and faith that gives me assurance in the face of the unknown. I deeply appreciate the wondrous gift of friendship, the Friend behind all friends, and the delight of quietly, invisibly putting others first.

"So very deeply, I appreciate the warmth of love in my heart that silences my fears, guides me, and fills me with optimism about the future. With grateful anticipation, I embrace the unfolding adventure and mystery of life. I am grateful for the yet-to-be-discovered opportunities and delights that are sure to come my way.

"I am thankful for the glory of this *present* moment, and for the unfolding of each new moment. And I am thankful for my thankfulness -- for the gift of gratitude -- and the clarity, strength and joy it bestows."

A Kentucky gentleman who prefers to remain anonymous wrote this poem... A man of great wisdom and insight.

"Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name." - Psalm 100:4

Hold on to Faith;
it is the source of believing that
all things are possible.
It is the fiber and strength
of a confident soul.

Hold on to Hope;
it banishes doubt and enables attitudes
to be positive and cheerful.

Hold on to Trust;
it is at the core of fruitful relationships
that are secure and content.

Hold on to Love;
it is life's greatest gift of all,
for it shares, cares, and gives meaning to life.

Hold on to family and friends;
they are the most important people in your life,
and they make the world a better place.

They are your roots and the beginnings
that you grew from;
they are the vine that has grown
through time to nourish you,
help you on your way,
and always remain close by.

Hold on to all that you are,
all that you have learned,
for these things are what make you unique.

Don't ignore what you feel,
and what you believe is right and important;
your heart has a way of speaking
louder than your mind.

Hold on to your dreams;
achieve them diligently and honestly.
Never take the easy way
or surrender to deceit.

Remember others on your way
and take time to care for their needs.
Enjoy the beauty around you.
Have the courage to see things
differently and clearly.

Make the world a better place . . .
one day at a time,
and don't let go of the important things
that give meaning to your life.

When was the last time you slowed down
enough to consider your own needs? With so
many things to do and so many places to be, you
probably haven't thought about yourself, lately.

Taking care of your self does great things for
you. It makes you less irritable, less anxious and
more satisfied. With consistent self-care you feel
energized, strong and willing. You feel like you
are in the drivers seat of your life, which is
precisely where you belong.

When you find yourself jumping to the demands
of others, slow down and remember that you are
entitled to a life, too. and it's perfectly okay to say,
"NO".

THE STEPS OF A GOOD MAN ARE ORDERED BY THE LORD, AND HE DELIGHTS IN HIS WAY. THOUGH HE FALL, HE SHALL NOT BE UTTERLY CAST DOWN; FOR THE LORD UPHOLDS HIM WITH HIS HAND.
( PSALM 37:23-24)

When we first learned to walk, we often fell down, but did we stay down? NO, we reached out to the extended hand of our mother or father, who helped us back on our feet. This happened often until we finally learned to walk on our own.

We can learn to walk with our Heavenly Father's helping hand the very same way! For then when we fall, we can reach out to God through prayer, and accept His merciful helping hand as well! After all it is written:

THE LORD LIFTS UP THE HUMBLE; HE CASTS THE WICKED DOWN TO THE GROUND.
( PSALM 147:6 )

Also written: HE SHALL GIVE HIS ANGELS CHARGE OVER YOU, TO KEEP YOU IN ALL YOUR WAYS. IN THEIR HANDS THEY SHALL BEAR YOU UP, LEST YOU DASH YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.
( PSALM 91:11-12 )

So walk with God everyday and you will find

THE LORD YOUR GOD IN YOUR MIDST, HE WILL REJOICE OVER YOU WITH GLADNESS, HE WILL QUIET YOU WITH HIS LOVE, HE WILL REJOICE OVER YOU WITH SINGING. ( ZEPHANIAH 3:17 )

Now my friends, have a great day knowing that the loving hand of God is always there ready to help you, no matter what you may face!

For My Angel Friends:

Into my life came a radiant hue,
Colors of friendship, and riches anew.
Your unselfish manner asking, "What can I do?"
I'm glad I've touched keyboards with you!

Your friendship I treasure--words simply can't say,
The warmth and affection your e-mails display.
Always wishing to give, and your words do ring true.
I'm glad I've touched keyboards with you!

We share many secrets as most "Friends" do.
We've suffered, survived; and, yes, made it thru.
Those difficult times, when most had no clue.
I'm glad I've touched keyboards with you!

As the breeze gently blows thru fresh morning air,
