Children are so awesome.
I tried to upload some of mine, add a pic to profile and ended up losing 300 blessings with no results :(

They aren't working for me either. I will post some pics of Aaron when I'm on the big computer, where the pictures are, this afternoon. He has this bizarre habit of giving the middle finger in all his pictures, though, so I'll have to be careful what I post on CF. I know it's an involuntary thing on his part, but it ruins about half the pictures we take of him, because I don't want people thinking I put his hand in that position!

There is a shot of me as an infant with my hand in that position, JUST as my father had placed it! ^_^

Don, your son took great shots.
I am praying that he turns into a wonderful young man.
Pray for me and the people who live in the San Fernando Valley. There was a truck accident with some horribly toxic acid that spilled (hopefully not the fluoride compound or chlorine). Anyway, the air around here is burning my eyes and throat. I've been coughing ever since 6 AM. It smells like someone just shocked their swimming pool. And yes, it does smell like a chlorine compound.

Those were taken on his 13th birthday, which made him feel even more special. The shots were a part of a project called "The Heart Gallery." Local professional photographers volunteered to take pictures of area foster children who are waiting to be adopted to help raise awareness of the number of children currently waiting for permanent homes, while trying to show some of the children's personalities. This photographer did such an amazing job working with my son that I've asked him to take our first "official" family portrait. We're working on scheduling that now.
The photographer gave us an 11x14 of David with Bella to frame and display at home. It's the photo that greets you when you walk in the front door of my house.

Ah. He is so adorable.
Great photo. It is hard to get a good photo sometimes.
We had to take a lot of shots to get some good ones, and the professional photographers, well, they also had good days and bad days when my son would not cooperate.
One day he was just too teary-eyed to get a good shot. As I recall, he was teething and drooling.
So, his church photo showed him crying.

Babies like to hear your heart ticking. It reminds them when they were in the womb.
Hey, James, when are you going to open your eyes for us?
You are always sleeping.

Hey, James, when are you going to open your eyes for us?
You are always sleeping.
I was just thinking about that today. Lord willing, I'll get some good waking shots of him, when they get home Sunday. Right now, the cute things that we can catch easiest are sleeping positions. He grins pretty frequently and has giggled a few times but you never know when so it's hard to get a good picture.

When we wanted our son to smile for the camera, we would get one of his favorite toys and wave it at him and make an animal noise or something to catch his attention. We would even use a high pitched, "Hi, there".
I took advantage of a professional baby photographer - ala K-Mart and learned a lot watching the photographer in action.
One thing they do at K-Mart is prop the baby up using a padded box, so that the little ones are in a sitting position. So, I would cover a box with a blanket and then position my son with toys surroundimng him to keep him upright.
Not too long ago, my son (he's 22 now) got a piece of blue broadcloth at the fabric store (regularly at $2.99 per yard). On sale, it can be very inexpensive. Then he used that as a background drape when he was doing some photo shoots for his photography class. His photos turned out great.

Just choose "Go Advanced" to reply, then attach Jpegs, gifs, etc that are not tooooo big of your babies. You DO have an attachment quota, so after a while, you may wish to find this thread again and delete your attachments.

It's neat that newborn babies are able to recognize and look in the direction of their parents when they speak.
When my son was born years ago, my husband was amazed that our newborn son looked in his direction.
Babies are born to communicate.

Get her signed up for one of those childcare classes where you have to take care of a baby-doll that needs "feeding" and "changing", etc. That'll cure her pretty quick. :D

I had one of those dolls for my Family Dynamics class in highschool...it wasn't that realistic.
When I had my daughter, I couldn't stick a plastic key in her back and turn it until she stopped crying.:)

I had one of those dolls for my Family Dynamics class in highschool...it wasn't that realistic.
When I had my daughter, I couldn't stick a plastic key in her back and turn it until she stopped crying.:) What if someone, under the influence of drugs, thought that they were back in their high school class, and tried that on a baby. That would be horrible.
Yet, I can remember when I held my first job after high school, that I thought I was in my high school chemistry class when I was under the influence of a codeine laced cough medicine. I tried to suck up some white-out thinner (for correcting typing errors) instead of using my thumb on the little plastic tube. So, I got some toluene in my mouth and the nurse thought that I was trying to commit suicide. When I explained that I was taking a prescription cough medicine which made me feel spaced out and have nightmares, then she realized that I was having a severe allergic reaction to the codeine.
I avoid narcotics like the plague. No codeine. No lidocaine. No -caines at all because the last time I received a novacaine injection, my throat started to close.
