I was posed an interesting question last night and I would be interested to find the answer.
Are there any mourning traditions within Orthodox Christianity?

First and foremost is to pray for the departed. Have them commemorated in the liturgy, have panikhidas said for them, include them in your own prayers. Beyond that, I'll let people who actually know stuff discuss.

This is often more of a cultural thing. But there are lots of things.
The most common and I think universal is to have a mnymosino for the dead at least once a year around the persons memorial date. In addition there is the commemoration of Soul Saturdays.

In Russia there are the 9-day and 40-day (after death) memorial times with intensive praying and even fasting.
