Father Mark was telling me something extremely interesting, and it made perfect sense. I thought it was awesome, so I figured I would share.

The sun is like an icon of Christ, in that He is light, and the moon is like an icon of the Theotokos Mary, which reflects the light of the sun.

Isn't that interesting?

Great analogy. I also like explaining the Trinity using the Sun. Sun is one, but composed of three (light, matter/fire and heat).

I always appreciate the attitude that searches and looks for God's presence everywhere. This is a good analogy!

Interesting analogy, yet my old mindset wants to balk. It's not that I don't agree, but when I was in the occult, we had a VERY different view of the sun/moon. Like I said, I've been trying to overcome these old, false doctrines, but the starngest thngs will sometimes est 'em off. Sorry bout the rant, thanks for posting this. Believe it or not, it's only STRENGTHENED my desire to follow Christ.
