Living Bold Like a Lion (http://godsreal.org/?p=44)

I meet alot of Christians that have not located their confidence in the Lord. I am not talking about self esteem- which is often a word used to describe carnal pride- but to get in harmony with the Holy Spirit and with the will of God for our lives. Many people miss this, and so they don’t seem to have the “abundant life” as described by Jesus in John 10:10. But why not, what are they missing?

Who is Jesus to you?

One of the biggest places that Christians miss the mark, is they don’t realize how powerful God’s salvation plan is- and further they don’t realize how big Jesus is. Let me explain; alot of believers have not taken the time to see that Jesus did not just come in the flesh in the year 0 and have His beginning. No, He has forever lived- as Hebews 13:8 so clearly shows us. Not only that, but God had Yeshua’s perfect atonement for our sins planned out before creation. Notice how in Genesis 3:15 God already made the declaration that the seed of a woman would crush Satan’s head (Jesus came through the seed of a woman, but without earthly father since the father passes down the blood), while His feet would be bruised (crucifixion). We can examine Genesis 22 and see how God asked Abraham to sacrifice his “only son Isaac, whom you love”- and because he was willing and believed God, God spared Abraham his son and because of his faith would promise to send His own Son, Yeshua, through his liniage. If Christians recognized who Jesus is, we would behave different.

Like a lion

Recently I watched an animated film about a lion and his son who were raised in captivity. The kid lion snuck out to the wild and the dad lion naturally pursued. The interesting thing is, that while they were in the real world the dad lion was afraid of things a lion should never be afraid of. He did not know who he was. Similarly, alot of Christians do not realize who they are (or are meant to be) in Christ. The Bible says that “the righteous are bold like a lion.” God has a life of victory and overcoming, and no less, for every single one of His children. It is interesting that when Jesus ascended, He sent the Holy Spirit (John 16:7-13), which allows us to actually say what Paul said in Galatians 2:20: “Christ lives in me.” And since Revelation 5:5 declares that Jesus is the “lion of the tribe of Judah”- we can see it is the Spirit that enables us to be “bold like a lion.” (Prov 28:1)

the abundant life God is giving me, seems small compared to what the world's standard of abundant life is. Most of my treasure is in heaven, which is actually kind of invisible :) And abundant life is also my loving family, which a lot of the worldly people don't really consider valuable-too bad for them. I pray for them and evangelize prayerfully as I can

Small?...I couldn't disagree more. I was a class clown that dated whoever I wanted from 4th- 9th grade. I was intensely popular around parties and girls- not to mentioned feared because of my fighting abilities as a youth...but honestly I ended up suicidal and dispised my life. But the beautiful struggle I have engaged in since Christ came and dwelled within me has offered me more than I ever could have imagined. Jesus is the truth.

I meant what He is giving me personally seems small to others. I didn't mean anybody else, because I am the only one I can really testify of with walking with Jesus.

we each have a different and unique walk

I agree with you there :)

And I have experienced that boldness from God of a lion. Some people who have known me many years are also surprised by that. It is faith in God and loving Him that has given me any boldness. He is good to be with us in all things

It's all about relationship with God and knowing who we are IN CHRIST.
