This thread is for rescuers to discuss what you want your role to be... How do you feel about changing the teams format??
You are ona team with a leader. With the leader being the more active one. With this way the leader can change if life changes but we will still have a team leader??
Any thoughts??

Yes I have been checking on the new pets , we have lost a few because they have not been watched. But we need a specific plan to include all new pets when they are created...

You want a fully functional team??:D Yes I agree each team needs to know who is on their team and what each is doing... what are your thoughts of how many should be on each team??

I think 10 should be fine.....by the way how many alive and kicking pets does CF have

Dont have exact number of how many pets yet... still working on it... but the last pet created was number 1347 (I think)

Hi! I can devote about 30 minutes to an hour a day to CF. I think this gives me enough time to be more active. How is it that you find the new pets? I can help with that if you need me to.

I think we should check if new pets have been created every week...this way no pet will die...maybe we could splitt it up between 2 people so that they just need to check every 2 weeks...and if we remember the pet Id number of the last pet created every time this is done it should be easy to find new pets since they will have a higher number :) then we would only need to add them to the care lists....maybe the person who checked for new pets could take care of the new ones till they have been added to the team rounds...and when they are added someone should post an announcement n that thread or pm the petRESCUERS who got the new pets on the list :)

oh....well, I think we might not know of all of them now. Some were taken off my list because their owners were caring for them. Maybe I can try to track down those numbers again...

there s someone working on a pet inventory right now :) hopefully we'll find out how many abandoned pets there really are :) and then we can deside what to do :) at least that's how I would do it :)

Ummm...between Team Hope and Team Faith are we supposed to be caring for ALL of the created pets? (or at least the ones we know about)

With the pets created increasing, that becomes very difficult for some on our team to devote that much time... That is why I think we need to re-organize our teams and have maybe 4 instead of just two... would be less work on some and the leaders would be the most active... *LD*

It also seems to me that the teams are too large and disorganized to keep track of what's going on, who's on vacation, or even who's still active.

If we were more organized, we could have either more teams or larger teams to do all the activities that we'd like to do as a group.

I'm hollering for organization, but getting organized is not something I can help much with, unfortunately.

Great points made... I would like to see each team have 5 or 6 members and a leader... then can add new teams when we need to... and each team leader would be responsible for their own members and hopefully know which are here and which are not... I think larger teams leaves too much for one person to handle.
In the near future I am also interested in making a CF Pet Graphics team... this team would only need to help with making graphics we can use for guest books, sig's,avatars, requesting armor... things like that... Since we have the private forum we can do more as a group... if everyone pitches in and shares ideas... *LD*

We don't want a too large or too small team.
How about 'hours challege'? Such as each person should contribute to feeding their pets or doing other team role for x hours a week. That idea probably not good for this type of project, we used that idea for group project at school. Such as each members in a group project should contribute the same amount of hours toward the group project.
The graphic is a nice idea. I sure hope we are getting our goals toward removing abondand pets from their owner to give up for adoption. In real life, we removed children who are not fed at home and put them in another person's care.

Sorry but last year Erwin has already decided that we can not remove the pet from the owner.. Instead of removing the pet he gave us the ability to feed and take care of them... That was his solution to the problem... *LD*

I like the more teams and a smaller number idea. I get on here as much as I can, but one person can only do so much. Maybe if we took down the number of the pets that each person has? That would help each person out with watching over their specified animals. I know I would be more willing to look in on them if there were about 10 or less instead of 10 or more. It seems like it takes quite a while to feed and play with each pet.

This is just a suggestion.

We have asked for this before... Has never happened.... it isnt that much more trouble to keep up with after we have everything started again... When I was doctor before, I would send a PM to every pet owner that created a new pet... explaining who we are, where the pet forum is and offering to answer questions about being a new owner... Was working great and allowed every new pet created to be added to our list...sorry but this was not kept up with while I was gone.... I plan on starting this up again after we get organized.*LD*

I check what pets are created every day or two... usually the new onwers keep the pet with them and I know who owns the pet and can pm them.... That was part of my job when we first started the Pet Rescuers...*LD*

20 should be fine........they should be a mix of 'taken care by owners' and not taken care types.
Then the leader should be informed how many pets are being fed by the rescuer so that the leader may shuffle the pets around and see that all spend about equal amounts

Great idea... think be easier on me to give the leader of each team the pets and they can give out to team members as they see fit according to each members activity level... so it would be the choice of the leaders...**LD**

I was wondering if we could put a link in our regular cf name encouraging people to come pet and feed the animals at this link. They could click on the link and be sent to the abandoned pets and feed or pet them. Sorta like a roadside petting zoo. They could be set up like the adoption/petcare center but they could click on them to pet them or feed them. I guess it would be something like sponsor a pet that can't be adopted. Just a thought.

With the new firefox and IE, it should be easy to keep track of more than 20 pets by opening new bookmark links together in tabs. Just 5 links/tabs at a time in the browsers. The problem is that this site slow down the browser or the browsers slow down the computer.

An idea would be to add one or two new pet to each pet rescuers's list every month.

I'm using opera for checking on the pets...you can be online as a petRESCUER in opera and at the same time with your normal ID in another browser :thumbsup: and opera allows you to open as many windows as you want (automatically open as tabs at the top)

only thing you can't do is give a pet 2 chicken at once like you can in firefox - both will be gone but the hunger level will only change 25% :(

I didn't know that I couldn't feed two chicken at once in opera. I rarely use the opera because it's slower than firefox. Thanks for warning me before I find any surprise. :D

The trick is to make sure you have 10 chicken (well, my pets all 15 or so of them like that). If my pets are not hungry, I just play with them. My pets like it when I play with them.
