Messianic Jews are jews who believe in Christ.

All the others believe He was just a great prophey, but not God.

Religous Jews are still waiting for the Messiah.

So religious Jews believe Jesus was not God? Why not?

They feel he did not accomplish the things the moshiach (http://www.jewfaq.org/moshiach.htm) was supposed to do.

They don't understand that he did and will complete them all when he returns. They also don't see the messianic prophesy of Isaiah as referencing Jesus, which seems so clear to me that it is...

I would think that this question would be better directed to the Messianic forum, or the Other Religions (Jewish) forum.

All the others [religious Jews] believe He was just a great prophey, but not God.
That's actually an Islamic belief, not a Jewish one.

Do Jews claim that Jesus was/is not God?There are believing Jews and non-believing Jews. My sister in law, a full Jew turned christian when she entered my family, through our belief in Jesus.

Remember, the Lord see ONLY what is in the soul. Nationality and skin color mean nothing to the Lord.

I have heard some extraordinary claims regarding Jesus by Jewish people. First, He was not the son of God. Second, one of the reasons Jesus could not be the long awaited Jewish messiah is because the messiah they are waiting for will overthrow Israel's oppressors. Jesus was killed by the oppressor's of Israel. Also I have read claims that the New Testament was redacted to paint Jesus as the messiah.

I think that the problem with the fact that Jesus is not accepted by the Jewish people as the Messiah is because of prophecy.

The Old Testament is quite clear on the fact that Jesus would not be accepted by his own people (Psalm 22 and Isaiah 53)
This will continue until the "appropriate time"....

I agree with this. There are also verses in Romans that indicate this and we see in Revelation (or is it Matthew?) that the Jews will be the priests in the millenial kingdom.
There is a function and purpose for the Jews who have a heart for the Lord and who love Him.
I am concerned for and pray for those Jews, who, like myself are (as I was) only cultural Jews without a sense of who God is or what He is. We must pray for them for their salvation or that they would come to know the Lord properly as Jews.
